How do I activate CS3 after transferring files from a dead computer to a new computer?
I have a CS3 on an iMac. My old iMac's disk drive failed completely. So, I cannot turn it on.
I installed all my files and programs from a back-up drive. Adobe Product Support said I should go to the Forum.
Any ideas?

If both versions are on the same hard drive, simply tell DW CC where your site files are located on your hard drive. Go to Site > New Site and define your site.

The computer has to be authorized for the account that purcchased the media.
What error message are you getting when you try to lauthorize the computer for that account?

Which version of photoshop are you using?
Do you get any message when you try to open the files into photoshop?
Did you use Nikon Transfer to get the files from your camera to computer?
Did you try the File>Get Photos From Camera in Adobe Bridge?

How to activate CS3 after HDD crash? Error 159:18, reinstalling did not help.

I am unable to re-activate CS3 after a hard drive crash, despite complete re-installation of the software.
I have: MacBook Pro 2008, OSX 10.6.8, CS3 Master Collection.
I had a hard drive crash and had to restore from Time Machine. On previous occasions when that happened, I have been able to re-open and activate CS3 with no problem. This time I got "we are unable to activate Adobe CS3 MC" message, error code 159:18. I contacted Adobe by Chat, they recommended uninstalling and then re-installing CS3 from my original disks or http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs3-product-downloads.html
. I did that, but I got the exact same message and error code. After that, Adobe Chat could not help and pointed me here.
CS3 has worked fine for six years on this same laptop, even after several HDD crashes and restores from Time Machine. It does not appear to be simply a Time Machine-caused error. (Furthermore, if I startup my laptop from a cloned bootable backup external drive, CS3 still opens.)
Could it be a hard disk problem, the same one that has caused previous crashes?

do not use time machine to install adobe programs.
uninstall everything installed using time machine, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and then properly install using the installation files.

Transferring Files from a dead PC to a Mac Pro.

Howdy all, My PC that I've been using as sort of a media hub in my living room has finally died. Motherboard said "NO MORE!!!" As a replacement I purchased an older Mac Pro 1,1. It is perfectly suited for my needs. The PC has 4 hard drives in total. One is used primarily for Windows 7 to reside on and the other 3 contain music, pictures, videos, things of that nature. I want to put those hard drives into the Mac Pro, however it has been my experience that hard drives formatted to NTFS won't be seen by the Mac. So how do I go about getting the files off the dead PC drives, reformatting the drives for Mac and then placing the files back onto those drives. Is there a way that bootcamp can be implemented to ease the process. The Mac Pro is a 1,1, it has 4gb of RAM, and it is running OS X 10.7.5. I don't want to lose 11 years worth of family photos and some 50 gigs worth of music, so any help would sure be appreciated.

Paragon Software has best of the NTFS drivers for Mac OS so you can easily access, write and use the drives as is. They even have a non destructive means with another of their programs to convert to/from HFS and NTFS (pretty sure).
Apple's read only NTFS is weak such that external drives with NTFS often don't mount even, the other being low overhead and performance you want. And Paragon is strong on Macs and low cost.

Simply copy any Scrivener files to the new computer, however you want to do it. Copy via flash drive, use Ogelthorpe's link, burn a CD or DVD, etc. On the new computer, download and install Scrivener from their web site, then you can open the files.
If you aren't sure where you put your current Scrivener file, open Scrivener and hold down the command key while clicking the name of the file in the window's title bar. That shows you where it is.

Hello all, recently i ran into some computer problems and my computer needed to be replaced.
I did not keep my old computer. I want to transfer files such as notes, contacts, apps ect. to the new computer. I do not care about transfering music or photos because i have copies of them saved on the new computer already. so is it possible to transfer those things? I have an iPod touch 4th Generation, if that helps.

Someone please help me. I'm desperately trying to move some files from my old G3 (9.2) to my new G5.
I have tried to use an ethernet cable. I turned on file sharing on the G3, and the G5 still isn't 'auto-sensing' the cable connection.
I have usb 2.0 on the old machine. Perhaps I could use a usb cable to transfer the files?
