How do I activate the Mercury Engine in Premiere Pro cs5 and AE cs5?
The option is unselectable for me under :
Premiere Pro CS5-->Project Settings-->Video Rendering and Playback--->Software Only

You probably won't see any improvement in editing with such a card. You'd be fine with

NVIDIA GTX 775M and After Effects

Hi!
I am using at the company I work for an Imac 27" 3.4 ghz with a NVIDIA GTX 775M GPU. My boss is considering purchasing After Effects. As this GPU is not in the Adobe AE list, does it mean that is just not the recommended or means that After Effects will not work at all?

As Dave hints at, AE uses the GPU for very little - see here: GPU (CUDA, OpenGL) features in After Effects
Some third-party plugins (like Element 3d or Red Giant's Universe) do use the GPU, but they have completely different requirements from AE's old "approved for ray-traced acceleration" list.
Also as Dave mentions, the After Effects team at Adobe have stopped development of the ray-traced renderer in favor of ever-increasing integration with Cinema 4D. And Cinema 4D (Lite) now comes included with After Effects! Check out the details of CINEMA 4D integration with After Effects here

You can do a search in the Example Finder for more Excel VIs.
They will give you a clearer idea of how to go about doing things in the way you need.

Nvidia GTX 970 and Matrox Mojito MAX Premiere Pro CC 2014

Good day everyone,
I am building a workstation and I would like to ask, if I can use both of the cards, The GTX970 for rendering and Matrox Mojito MAX for monitoring? I know, that Matrox card is hardware accelerating h.264, but is it faster than GTX970? If i can use this combo, how can I set? If i set the Mojito to preview, can I set the Mercury settings in the project settings for GTX970? Will it work? Thank you for respond.

The Matrox hardware has nothing to do with the Mercury settings. When you go to File > Export > Media, you will have options for "H.264" and "Matrox H.264" - choose the Matrox option as "Format" and then you will see dozens of presets to choose from. These will use the Matrox Max hardware acceleration. You can do your own test between similar presets (Adobe and Matrox) and decide for yourself which works better for you. Again, this only affects EXPORT and not "editing" in Premiere.

You got a GTX 295 and you don't know how to put it in the mainboard!?
Give it to a computer shop or someone who knows what they're doing and let them install it. You do not want to break something that expensive.

Well after doing lots of reading and checking a lot of post by HU16E. I was able to get my processor to 4.09ghz. temps are under 60c on all 4 cores. going to try to re apply my thermal paste tomorrow a little thinner and see if that brings temps down. very impressed with this new chip or this motherboard. waiting on new power supply to get here to hook up my other gtx 295 and fire her up and see how it does. my new pc has made me a very happy person. =D

Well, thanks for the acknowledgement, but without the knowledge of Jack t. N. & many others here in the forum, teaching me what utilities to use, & how to use them correctly, & the proper procedures in assembling a system, troubleshooting, etc., I'm sure I would have fried or ruined a number of components. A large part of system building involves some trial & error, but there is no substitute for advance research & planning, & actually reading the mainboard manual instead of using it for a coaster for a favorite beverage during system assembly.

The headset is connected via the 3.5mm jacks in the card.
I believe I have it working now. I ended up having to unstall the drivers and software, reboot, install drivers and software and then mess with the settings. The only issues that I am having now is that I hear a a really high sort of feedback/hiss tone from the headphones now. To correct this I have to turn the input for the microphone down really low within the Windows 7 controls for the microphone and turn it up with Ventrilo to get the mic to work and remove the feedback/hiss.
I believe that the issue stems from the flexjack setting. The whole flexjack thing really seems to mess with the microphone settings. I believe I choose line-in instead of microphone.
Once I get home tonight from work, I will hopefully post the exact settings I came up with to get the mic to work.

I have a problem concerning the manipulation of formated Search Forms. Actually when using the ActivatMenuItem() method, one needs a UID of the items to be activated. And I would like to use this method to activate several formated Search Forms but I don't know how to get the UID of those formatted Search Forms.
While searching on the Forum, I have seen that some developers used following command SBO_Application.ActivateMenuItem("7425");
I tried that and it works, but it only activates the first formatted Search Form saved in the CSHS table. My problem is how to activate the other formatted Search Forms and how to access their UID.

Formatted searches are tied to an individual field on the screen.
They are not launched by individual UID's, there is only one formatted search menu UID - 7425.
The actual screen that is called is based on which field the focus is currently in. If you are in form UID "1", field UID "1" it will call the formatted search (defined in CSHS) for Form 1 / Item 1. If the focus is currently in field UID "2", it will call a different search. If there is no formatted search defined on CSHS for the current field, then it will display a dialog asking if you want to create one.
If you want to open other formatted searches for different fields in your form, simply place the focus on them before calling ActivateMenuItem("7425"). You can do this using the Click method.

Photoshop CS5 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 Crash

My specifications:
Photoshop CS5 (x64)
Windows 7 x64
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 (latest v197.45 driver)
Intel i7 920 2.67 GHz
My card is listed as a tested card for CS5 and NVIDIA says this is compatible with CS5, but today after using it, my screen went blank and the display driver recovered itself. It took about 5 minutes until Photoshop CS5 became responsive again and the GPU features were disabled. I am going to try GPU advanced mode and basic mode instead of normal mode to see what happens, but this is a shame that I have issues like this. I also had issues with CS4 like this.
What I did to cause this issue: I clicked" Place.." to place an object and that is when it crashed. It only happens randomly as I use Photoshop. Please NVIDIA or Adobe fix this issue. I love the GPU features and I want to run them, but this crashing is annoying for spending so much on buying this product. I hate to have to pay to contact Adobe technical support, it should be included with the purchase of software!
How to fix this without having to go to basic GPU mode or disabled GPU mode?

Imagine a Marketing person's thoughts: "Stop making new drivers for that old card; we're not selling those and haven't for a long time. If a person has one and can't run the latest game or graphics software, he'll go buy a new one, and that's more money for us."

What is it that you're expecting it to do?
After Effects doesn't use CUDA for processing. That's just Premiere Pro.
After Effects can use OpenGL for speeding up previews. See this page.
