How to activate SAP Visual Composer Reporting on ABAP Side

Hello,
How can we activate SAP Visual Composer Reporting on ABAP Side in ECC 6?
It is not in BI or in Portal.
And I have some problem to find documentation about it.

Hi Manish, Is not posible to migrate iviews, you need to do a new deploy in the new server.

SAP Visual Composer tool

Hi,
My portal team is currently developing some reports using the SAP Visual Composer tool. How do we make a BW cube or ODS available for VC to see?
They can currently see only a few of the cubes, but we don't know how those are visible to VC and not others.

i dont believe we can see cubes or ods thru VC, but only queries. if what you say is true, then its probably due to the user authorizations on BW. the userId you use in portal is normally mapped to a userId in the BW system. chck the userID that you're mapped to (in BW bckend) has the relevant authorizations to view those cubes etc.

Visual composer report not working after change backend function ?

We already suffered from strange behaviour of visual composer reports totally not functioning at all at some times.
now I made a change in a function which is called in a function that is used by visual composer. after transporting the change the VC report is not working anymore (while the function itself in the backend is working fine)
how comes that the VC report is not working anymore after inside changes of the functions it calls ??

As you have made changes to the function those changes wont be reflected to the VC.so you try to re call the function into VC then it will work fine.

Hi Gopal,
There is no concept of Variant in Webdynpro ABAP. But in our project we have some tool to do that. Its not release to the client I think. In my scenarieo, We create the Screen variant and program name will be supplied to the tool that will generate the ouput in PDF and Selection screen in One view. But the same is not avilable .
If you want the same concept in Webdynpro ABAP, you need to go for Dynamic programming only. This is the only option is avilable.

How to work with Visual Composer

Hi,
I am working with EP 7.1,NW04S.I also install IE 6.0,Adobe SVG Viewer3.0,Flash environment in my local machine.I assign the super admin role to the particular user also.Even thou.once i am giving the URL for the visual composer like http://host name:port number/vc/default.jsp ,the design page of Vc is not opening and its showing error like The requested resource /vc/default.jsp is not available.
I think it is some post configuration work has to be done.
How to resolve this error so that i can work on visual composer ? Your idea will highly appreciated.

system alias is the reference system which contains properties of backend systems ( example ECC ) to map. I think you already did that
you can search in sdn with key words system or system alias for more information.

How can a SAP or custom report be displayed on a VC dashboard?

We have NetWeaver Portal set up and also have Visual Composer 7.0. We do NOT have BI or BW. We are trying to set up and test a dashboard for our upper management. We have the backend SAP system connected and have access to the standard SAP BAPIs.
Is it possible to display the results of a standard SAP report ( for instance transaction S_ALR_87013611 or results from transaction CN40 ) or must custom BAPIs be written to capture the report results?

You can only exchange data between VC and R/3 or ECC through Remote Function Calls.
So, if you want to display the data from a report or transaction one of the ways you can use is to write an RFC with a 'call transaction'.
You can also write an RFC which selects all the fields you want to import in VC.

When you create and deploy a VC application, the deployed iView/s are automatically created in the portal under the folder that you have specified (in VC Tools> Compiler options>portal deployment), or by default under Content Administration>Portal Content>Visual Composer folder.
Check this for your BI, VC and Portal requirement:

How to import of Visual Composer@browser models into Visual Composer@NWDS?

Hello,
some month ago, I started modeling a number of composite views with the browser version of the Visual Composer 7.1 SP 5. At this time, the corresonding NWDS did not provide an integrated Visual Composer.
Now, we have moved to the CE 7.1 EhP 1 SP 2. This time the NWDS provides an integrated Visual Composer. Unfortunately, the integrated Visual Composer does not display my models.
How can I import my Visual Composer models from the browser version to the NWDS version?

Hello Talia,
You can use Import/Export in order to move your models from Visual Composer@browser to Visual Composer@NWDS.
Although, I have been able to export my models from VC@browser, I have not succeeded in importing them into VC@NWDS. Can you please give me a hint how to do that?
But If you intend to add your models to DTR (Source Control repository) in the future, you should to add them to DTR in VC@browser first, import them in NWDS (using Development Infrastructure perspective) from the DTR, check out, continue modeling and check in at the end.
To this end, I have to configure the VC@browser to use the DTR, right? Can you please give me a hint how to perfom the required configuration?

Are you speaking about the standrad SAP roles? If yes, you can have a look at BC and ABAP roles. However, if your question is about the created roles, you should see the convention that was followed in your organization to identify the roles.

How to activate a different sub-report for each row in the data set as main report page breaks on each row of data in the main dataset

I am going to try asking this same question a different way as I have yet to find a working solution to my problem. I have a main report and then 8 sub reports. My main report has one data set and returns one row of data per account number. One
of the fields in the main data set is called AccountProf. My main report displays one page per Account number and then calls a different sub report based on that account's AccountProf value. The sub reports take in the account number as a parameter
and get multiple rows of data to display that accounts usage formatted differntly for each AccountProf (hence the 8 different sub report.
So far I can figure out how to do everything but setting the visibility property of each sub-reports when I have multiple accounts. If I use the following expression for the visibility property on each sub report, it makes all the applicable sub report
for all the accounts requested visible at once:
=IIF(Fields!AccountProf.Value= "USE_PLUS_DMD",False,True)
*The value in bold USE_PLUS_DMD is different for each sub report.

According to your description, there is a main report and 8 sub reports in the report, you want to set visibility of sub reports, if no value is passed to the parameter of sub report, the sub report will not be displayed. If that is the case, please refer
to the following steps:
1. Create a new parameter named NewAccountNumber, set its data type the same as @AccountNumber, select Allow multiple values, set Visibility to be hidden, then set all available values to default values.
2. Right-click the first sub report and open Subreport Properties dialog box, click Parameters in left pane, set name to AccountNumber, then click (fx) button, type the expression like below:
=Parameters! NewAccountNumber(0)
3. Click Visibility in left pane, select Show or hide based on an expression, then click (fx) button and type the expression like below:
=IIF(InStr(Join(Parameters! AccountNumber.Value), Parameters!NewAccountNumber.Value(0))>0 , false,true)
4. Modify parameter of other sub reports like step2.
5. Set visibility of other sub reports like step3.

ERROR 503 in Visual Composer Report

We are facing a problem when try to access a VC Report. The server is showing 503 error while executing the report.This report is having a bit complex calculations.
We are running in NW CE 7.2 SP3 and all my VC components corresponds to this version correctly.

have you checked the default trace? Do you get a timeout error from the backend? Maybe the calculation is too complex and the iView times out.

so do i have to buy a recovery media?
I have contacted hp support and told them about the whole problem but a i have to wait for that.... so here it is
i bought this new hp notebook 15 and after two weeks the windows crashed and i didn't even created a recovery media. so i downloaded a new windows from microsoft. After that when i tried to activate the windows through OEM key it won't activate and gave some error. Then i contacted the hp support center and they suggested that the new windows i have installed is a retails version and i order to get to activate windows through OEM key i need a Factory Shipped OS. NOw i just need to know whether i have to buy a new windows? or hp can give me a FActory shipped os on demand or can i download a factory shipped operating system anoter site (other than Micosoft)?
