Hello there ArsenalOC1886!: to answer this question specfically
why not buy a cable that has the HDMI on one end{the PC} & a SVGA at the other(the 2nd monitor)
or get a HDMI\SVGA adapter at your local computer shop
with plug & play being as advanced as it is itshould work unless it's incompatible
good luck
hope this enlightens, clarifies & helps

(3) In Windows 7 select Computer, Select the HDD installed, Format (if not already formatted).
(4) If HDD does not show up in Windows 7 under Computer, go to Start (Menu), Search Programs and Files, enter "Computer Management", select Storage, Disk Management (Local), look for the Bay 2 HDD (should show up as Disc 1, Bay 1 HDD should show as Disc 0), Format the 2nd HDD (The one you just installed).
Update: I have the 2nd HDD (WD 1TB) installed, Windows now recognises it after completing the steps I mentioned in step 4, Format with default allocation NTFS 931.51GB free, 118MB used for formatting. Format with default allocation exFAT 931.51GB free, 1MB used for formatting. I selected NTFS format to reduce file fragmenting.

When i added my 2nd HDD I was ready to get it ordered and shipped, so it would arrive before I arrived home. I also was not sure if it would be offered anywhere else and be 100% compatible. The quality of the factory HP part is good. Since then I found a cheeper source. Newmodeus DV7-3xxx Hard Drive Caddy $27.95 +tax +shipping. Not sure if the quality is the same. If this helps you, post your results and kudos.

• How does Mavericks handle 2nd monitor differently?

Since I upgraded to Mavericks, I have liked having a 2nd task bar on my 2nd monitor.
But I haven't figured out how it decides where to put pop up windows. Sometimes they are on one monitor, other times on the other. How does it decide?
And I have one application (SimpleFloatingClock) that used to start up on my 2nd monitor when I reboot, but now starts off on the 1st monitor (where it would boot up when I have to reboot without my 2nd monitor - which in the past has been at the Genius Bar).

I like to have my iTunes on one monitor, but use my iMac's display for other work. But when the iMac's display is active, I get a window from my iTunes behind my browser (or whatever) that I'm using on my iMac. I liked it the old way when it popped up in front of my iTunes and could see it.

• How do I connect 2nd monitor to 2010 Mac Pro?

Hi all, I'd appreciate some help as I'm a little out of my element.
I have a mid 2010 Mac Pro tower and I'm looking to add a second monitor to it for my video editing.
There is no second monitor port in the back that I'm aware of, just the one for my primary monitor.
Is there a possible way to connect a second monitor to this machine? If it requires adding another video card or something else special, links are appreciated.
Processor 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 8 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
Software OS X 10.9.5 (13F34)
Thank you in advance

You don't need another card or USB adapter.
Your current graphics card can run up to three displays. It has one dual-link DVI-I port and two Mini DisplayPorts.
If your new display uses Mini DisplayPort or DisplayPort, you can use a Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort or DisplayPort cable

• How to add a 2nd Library to photo?

In iphoto I used to have two libraries and used to select which one I wanted to look at at startup of the app.
1) Does photo have the ability to have multiple libraries
2) How do i import my 2nd iPhoto library once the initial setup is done into a 2nd photo library?
3) If I try to import a 2nd library and ADD it to the first then will it give me the option to skip duplicates
Thanks!

1 Yes
2 This was answered in another thread: click on Photos while holding alt key, a dialogue box with a choice of libraries to convert will appear.
You can test this by creating a new iPhoto library and converting it.

• How to add a third monitor to 21.5inch iMac

Hi all, this is my first post.
I have just ditched my PC & purchased a 21.5 inch iMac. (I totally love it) I use to have two 19 inch Dell monitors hooked up to mt PC, I have purchased a mini display to VGA adapter & connected one of my Dell monitors & it's works fine. I would really love to add my other spare monitor to my iMac but I only have one thunderbolt port!!!!!!! I'm quite new to the world of Mac & I'm not sure how to do this or is this even possible????? I have seen USB to VGA video adapters on the Internet but not sure if this will work???? I'm running the latest mountain lion software. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

You really should have gotten a 27" iMac to do that. I don't think what you're attempting is possible on a 21.5" unless you get two Thunderbolt displays and daisy chain them, expensive however possible.

• How to add a 2nd ipod to PC

I just purchased my second ipod, an 80G classic video pod. When I try to add it to ITunes, I get the Software Agreement but does not allow me to continue to register it to the same PC where my older ipod is installed.
Help please.

What happens when you try to register, are you getting an error of some sort? I've seen a number of posts recently where people weren't seeing the button to complete the registration, is that what's happening with you? The solution to that one has usually been to increase your screen resolution, you'll find the instructions on this Microsoft page:

• How to add a 2nd wireless adapter (usb) to a MacBook Pro?

I am in an area with a bad signal for wireless, and my airport won't pick up the signal reliably. I have purchased a hama WLAN USB-Stick with flexible antenna, so I can move it around for the best signal. It has drivers for OS X 10.5. However, the installation directions are for older versions of Mac OS X - not Leopard.
System Profiler detects the adapter, and I have installed the drivers from hama. Now, the instructions say to click on the Apple and select Environment in order to add a new ethernet port (en2, for example) - but, there is no 'Environment' selection under the Apple menu in Leopard.
So, how do I add this new port???

I have gotten it to work, but first, for Tim, the manual can be found here (pick the language of your choice) -
http://www.hama.at/portal/searchSelectedProductNO/type*201/action*1026/searchMode*1/qwlan+usb-stick
In searching online, I found a "patch" at:
http://www.hama.at/portal/searchSelectedProductNO/type*201/action*1026/searchMode*1/qwlan+usb-stick
The instructions on that page include the following text:
"This is USB CDC for g_ether Linux devices on OS X 10.5 ("Leopard"), patched by Angel Roman of Bug Labs. It has been tested to run on OS X 10.5.2 on Intel Macs.
This patch exists in order to provided IP-over-USB capabilities to OS X, allowing you to access various embedded Linux gadget-type devices ... connected to your Mac.."
That sounded like what I needed, so I went ahead and installed their patch - and, it worked. I unplugged the hama device from the USB port, installed the patch, and restarted my machine. Once everything was up, I plugged in the device - and up came the message that a new network device had been detected. Everything worked great from there on, and I'm connected to the hama device now in order to respond to Tim's message! It also shows up in the Network Utility as en2, just as it should.

• How to add 2 Additional Monitor into my iMAC using ONE Thunderbolt

1. I would like to attach 2 units of Samsung 27" which supports maximum resolution of 1920 by 1080 into a single Thunderbolt. How should I do that?
2. As my other Thunderbolt is kept for Storage purpose and my Firewire is used to plugin my external sound card.
Any good suggestions
and please suggest me that, whether the performance quality of the picture on the both Samsung 27" will be compromised or not?? Will I have exact quality as in my iMac or different?
What kind of cable should I buy.
My Samsung monitor supports HDMI and DVI Input.
All together I will be having 3 monitors (iMac, Samsung , Samsung)

• How to add a 2nd HD to p6-2035uk.

FAQ mentions but doesn't adtually address this question.
I cant see any 'spare' bay. Is it possible to add a bay in which to install another HD - there are clearly spare power and SATA connections.

Hi:
Below is the link to the upgrading and servicing guide for your PC.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03022710.pdf
It does not appear there is anywhere you can add as second hard drive.
Bear in mind that HP uses these power supplies and motherboards on different model PC's, which may explain the extra power connectors and sata ports.
Is it possible to install a HDD under the CD rom drive by using a 3.5" hard drive to CD rom bay caddy?
That seems to be the only place that you could do that, but I can't say for sure as the diagrams don't help a whole lot.

• How to add a 2nd DIT to ODs ldap server?

Hi,
I need to setup a 2nd database (DIT) on my OpenLDAP server, which is part of OD. Normally one would just tweak the slapd.conf file to contain the new DB and its settings, like suffix rootdn and so forth, but this doesn't seem to work on Leopard server while it just works on Tiger server.
Anybody has tried this before?
Cheers,
budy

Hi Stephan,
I have not tried this but I think "doesn't seem to work" is not the best error description you could provide.
Does slapd still start up?
Do you get errors?
Have you tried starting the server with
sudo slapd -d config
This wil print some information to stdout about the processing of the configuration file.

• How to add a 2nd hard drive to DV7-3080US

The hard drive died on my dv7-3080us. It was a 500GB drive.
I would like to nreplace it with a 1TB drive and in addition
add a second drive. Specifically I would add a
SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE250BW 2.5" 250GB SATA 6Gb/s
TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD).
Will the system support a 1TB drive and 250GB solid state drive?

Yes no problem. Use the SSD as the primary/OS/boot drive in slot 1. You will need a caddy for the 1 TB drive in Slot 2. Visit newmodeus.com to buy the caddy and for video tutorials.

• How do I add an output for a 2nd monitor?

I have a mac mini that was purchased in 2009 I believe, maybe 2008. The operating system has been upgraded to Snow Leopard. I want to add a 2nd monitor, so I can use 2 at the same time, however, there is only one output. Is there a way to add an output for a 2nd monitor? OS is 10.6.X. not at the computer right now to check.
Thanks for input.

If the back of your mini looks like this:
- then you have two display ports already (Mini DVI Port and MiniDisplayPort). I only mention this, as it may not be obvious! You just need the right adapters to feed your two monitors.
If it looks like this:
- then you do indeed only have one display output (DVI) and then ignore me, and listen to Asatoran!

• How to add a monitor to an iMac 20 inch

How to add an extra monitor with VGA connector to an iMac 20 inch ( model 7,1)
Wich adaptaer cable do I need?
What are the set ups I have to go through?

The Mid 2007 iMac 7,1 has a Mini DVI output port.
To connect a VGA only monitor, then you will need a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter and a VGA cable.
http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9320G/A
However check the monitor closely, because if it also has a DVI connection then would be better to use the Mini-DVI to DVI adapter and a DVI cable.
