how do you get total from adding and subrtracting numbers on the balance sheet??

what balance sheet?  If you have one started can you post a screenshot?
I can try a guess:
In this example the balance column takes the difference between the sums of the cell in the credit column and the debit column up to, and including, the current row.
E2=SUM($C$2:C2)−SUM($D$2:D2)
this is shorthand for... select cell E2, then type (or copy and paste from here) the formula:
=SUM($C$2:C2)−SUM($D$2:D2)
to fill down select cell E2, then hover the cursor over the bottom edge and drag the yellow dot down as needed

    IF you want to see the accumulated balances you need to select the period from 0 to 12.
    EX: you want to open the report up to period 6th 2009 and want see the figures including the carryforward balances from 2008.
    then in selection screen select the from period = 0  and to period =6.

    Hi,
    From the JDT1 table you need to sum the amounts of debit and credit fields to get the value based on the refdate field. Taking a total before a refdate will be the opening balance and during the reporting period with the current balance.
    Check if you get the desired result.

    I am working on a VI for data analysis. I have data coming from a spreadsheet file, and I used the excel macro example.vi and I was able to produce a single chart(with column 1 as X-axis and column 2 as Y axis). But I have eight columns of data and I want create eight different chart (like next chart would be column 1 as X-axis and column 3 as Y-axis) and each in a seperate sheet. I tried to modify the macro but I am getting error in Set cell range.vi. Do I have to add sheets after opening the excel book in Macro excel.vi. Any help is appreciated.

    You state that you modified the macro and are getting an error in the Set Cell Range.vi. This tells me that you ran the Macro Example.vi, then modified the macro, then saved your Excel workbook. What you have now is a workbook with two sheets. The first sheet is the sample chart, and the second is the worksheet with the sample data.
    The problem is that Excel remembers that the chart was the last sheet used and re-opens with that sheet active. The Macro Example.vi selects the sheet by Sheets(1), not WorkSheets(1) or Sheets("Sheet1"), and therefore is trying to write your data to the chart. If you delete the chart sheet, you should be able to modify the macro to create 8 new charts without adding any sheets.

    In simple terms, I would say that if you have define a group chart of accounts, you can get a consolidated report by preparing a financial statement version based on Group chart of accounts.  Define the group chart of accounts (in the same line as you define operative chart of accounts) and assign the group chart of accounts in the operative chart of accounts.  You can create GL accounts in group of chart of accounts for making entries on a consolidation base.  Once you do this while creating the GL accounts in FS00, you will have an additional field of account number in Group chart of accounts.  There you can give the GL account number created in the group chart of accounts.  So whenever you make a posting to your individual company code GL accounts, the same will also get updated in the group chart of account GL account number. 
    I hope you have got a flair of things now..  Nevertheless, by simply proceeding in this line is not enough to have a true picture of things from the group point of view.  There may be other things to consider like elimination of inter-company profits, losses, transfers, etc.  For this purpose, you will have to go for additional installations like SEM-BCS, BI, etc.

    S_ALR_87013345 - Profit Centers: Customers (Transferred Periodically)
    S_ALR_87013346 - Profit Centers: Vendors (Transferred Periodically)
    S_ALR_87013347 - Profit Centers: Assets (Transferred Periodically)
    S_ALR_87013348 - Profit Centers: Materials (Transferred Periodically)
    If you want to take balance sheet for over all profit center then use program :RFBILA10  and in selection give Financial statement version and ledger of profit center which is 8A.

    Steps-1)Load 0FI_GL_C10 cube from R/3
    2)R-Click cube 0FI_GL_R10 and select option "Activate direct access" since its remote cube as otherwise you wont be able to receive data in to this cube
    After loading 0FIGL_C10 goto 0FI_GL_V11 to check if you see data in this cube and then start building queries .
    No physical loading of data in 0FI_GL_R10 and 0FI_GL_V11 cube as its Remote cube and Virtual cube.
    I followed these steps. According to your datasources try following these steps and make sure you create a Virtual cube. The above link shows the standard query for Balance P&L. I have done for 0FI_GL_1 datasource. For this infosource i created standard cube and virtual cube. I guess in virtual cube you should get the data 0GL_ACCOUNT,  Key figues 0VAL_FLOW & 0VAL_STOCK . Please go through the below link for more information regarding these objects.

    hello, friend.
    actually, the G/L accounts are given to SD by FI.  FI configures these accounts.  we coordinate with FI with the following account requirements:
    1.  revenue
    2.  discounts (customer, material, customer/material, etc.)
    3.  surcharges (e.g. freight, pallet, etc.)
    4.  other sales deductions and returns
    5.  rebate accrual accounts
    6.  other settlement accounts
    7.  other reconciliation accounts
    we assign these in VKOA.  but sometimes, special situations require other assignments (such as recon accounts assignments in billing types).
    we also coordinate with FI on account group assignments.  for example, you may want revenues from domestic customers posted to account 100101, and international customers to 100102.  we do this by defining account assignment groups which are used in VKOA.

    You can use T. code KE5Z for actual line items.
    More to this you can use program RFBILA10 (Use T. code SE38 and program RFBILA10) for complete blance sheet.
    The transaction is for special purpose ledger but this program RFBILA10 can be used for profit center balance also.
    In selection, you can give ledger name which is generally 8A for profit center ledger.

    This is not possible as standard as the accounts you mention are recon accounts, they should not be open item managed or have line item view to them.
    Therefore against the actual GL you cant see the detail.
    If you have a single Recon for say all of your customers and a different one for your vendors you could look at right a report to display all open documents for customer or vendors per Company Code and then link it to the FSV so when you double click the relevant line it calls the new program.
    This is far fetched, probably very hard to do, but the only way around getting what you want.
    In ERP 6.0 with document splitting active there is the possibilty to drill into the line items of recon accounts.
