How to add a bookmark to an Acrobat 10.1.7 document

How to I add a bookkmark to an Acrobat 10.1.7 document?  I have looked for this under Comment but do not see a tool that will let me do ths.

View > Show/Hide > Navigation Panes > Bookmarks (or click the Bookmark icon on the left). Use the Options menu.
I'd use Help > Adobe Acrobat X Help to view the Acrobat Help file. Search for Bookmarks.

I am unable to find instructions on how to add a bookmark. I don't want it on the toolbar but just in the list of bookmarks. I've tried every which way to search for this information but without success.

I removed the email address. It is not needed on the forum to send you replies. The forum is public and indexed by search engines. You may reinstate the email address if you wish. You may also choose to display the email address publicly in your profile use [/users/edit] ->Make my email public: [] ~J99

If you want to bookmark the current page, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+d to add the bookmark.
If you prefer to type the address, or you need to bookmark a page that is not displayed, right-click an existing bookmark on the Bookmarks menu (or in the folder where you want to add the bookmark) and choose New Bookmark.

• How to add custom actions to the Settings page for a Document Library?

I want to add a custom action under General Settings on the Document Library Settings page (listedit.aspx). So I added a new SharePoint 2010 "Empty Element", and put this code in the Elements.xml file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
<CustomAction
Id="MyClassName"
Sequence="999"
GroupId="GeneralSettings"
Location="Microsoft.SharePoint.ListEdit.DocumentLibrary"
Title="My Link"
Description="My description here"
Rights="ManageWeb">
<UrlAction
Url="~sitecollection/_layouts/MyProject/MyPage.aspx"/>
</CustomAction>
</Elements>
I found the GroupId and Location here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb802730.aspx but I am starting to wonder if this documentation is for MOSS2007 rather that SP2010
as it says.
What am I missing?
Any help or hint would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Henrik,
Can we add above custom action in our custom group like General Settings?
I have tried for that but it is not working.
I have tried as follows
<Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
<CustomActionGroup
Id="LibrarySettings.MyGroup"
Title ="My Group"
Sequence="1000"
Location="Microsoft.SharePoint.ListEdit">

<CustomAction Id="Custom.Configuration.ListCustomSettings"
GroupId="LibrarySettings.MyGroup"
Location="Microsoft.SharePoint.ListEdit"
RequireSiteAdministrator="FALSE"
Sequence="100"
Title="Library Admins">
<UrlAction Url="_layouts/15/LibrarySettings.aspx?List={ListId}" />
</CustomAction>
</Elements>
But custom group is not created in list settings
Any idea what I am missing here?

• Disorganized forums (with bonus of how to add a blank page in acrobat)

Gee wiz these forums are disorganized.
Hey adobe, want to see how a forum should be organized? Then go to any of the bazillion websites that are set up on a hierarchy and EASILY searchable within a topic, instead of the convoluted mess that you have here.
Here is another answer to "how to a add a blank page" to a doc in acrobat.
Since it has already been "answered" (how absurd is that) I am posting it here, in hope that someone can find it because THIS solution is no where else on the web as far as i can tell.
Option click & drag a page to duplicate it then delete the page contents with the “touch up object” tool. then duplicate the page to your hearts content. note you will need to remove password if any first.
.

I've been usin acrobat since Version 4. Currently have last updated version 9.
Just recently made some pdfs. The last time I did a multipage PDF has been a while (but still after version 9).
But in order to see a full 8.5x11 page I had to do the dot trick I spoke of, there has to be some type of content even if same color as background, more than halfway down the page in order for it to show as a full page, you do nothing if it even creates one, shows as a half page or less.
And if you want it to look professional, you type either in middle or just bellow middle, the words:
THIS PAGE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK
set color to a pale gray (as shown above). I've seen PDF Manual for software using this.

• How to add line spacing on adobe acrobat pro extended

Hi everyone,
I'm chaging an abobe form in to dynamic, and i get a problem with the multiline function. I need to have my text field in multi lines, but only 5 lines. I searched all tab on text field properies but seems that there's no way to set specific line numbers on text field. Can anyone help?

This requires a script that will open the other file (the file has to be disclosed first), read the barcode field value, close that file and then populate that value into the barcode field in the original file. This is not a simple task and there are surrounding issues like the relative location of both files, the trigger for this action, etc.

• Add the bookmark by coding with Acrobat Standard 9.0

I adds the bookmark by the Acrobat SDK, the method is OK in the ACrobat 8.0, but in the Acrobat Standard 9.0, it's NOT steady, sometimes it's OK,
but NOT always.
My code is as follows:
==================================================
CAcroApp oMainAcroApp;
oMainAcroApp.CreateDispatch("AcroExch.App",&e);
CAcroAVDoc oAcroAVDoc;
oAcroAVDoc.CreateDispatch ("AcroExch.AVDoc")
//Open the file in the window
oAcroAVDoc.OpenInWindowEx (...);
CAcroPDBookmark oBookmark;
oBookmark.CreateDispatch("AcroExch.PDBookmark");
pAVApp->MenuItemExecute("NewBookmark");
//Save the file
==================================================
The code refers to the sample of the Acrobat SDK, but it runs failurely.
How should I revise the code or is there other method to add the bookmarks?
Please help me as soon as possible.
Thank you very much!

I have just purchased acrobat professional 9. I need to scan multiple documents and can't. The hide scanners native interface is grayed out and I can't change it to "show scanners native interface". Can someone please help. I have a newer dell photo 966 all in one printer.

• How to add ability to insert Annotations via Reader to an existing PDF form

I have an existing PDF form created in LiveCycle ES2/Acrobat X, with fillable text boxes and all that stuff.  I want to add the ability for Reader users to insert items from the Annotations menu, but can't seem to figure out how to add that permission.  When I look at the Document Restrictions Summary in the PDF properties, it has "Commenting: Not Allowed".
So how can I keep the existing form working as is, but add the ability for anyone to insert Annotations through Reader?

You have two choices
1) You can use JavaScript in your AIR application to communicate with the JavaScript in the PDF to fill in the form directly. This can all be done inside of your AIR app. This is certainly the best route to go and there is (IIRC) a sample in the AIR SDK.
2) You can create an XFDF file from your XML data and then have Acrobat/Reader open the XFDF file to fill in the data.
Both methods will work with Acrobat and Reader - HOWEVER, Reader users won't be able to save the PDF unless it has been Reader Enabled.

• How do I add a bookmark to the Bookmark toolbar permanently and delete it from the Recntly Bookmarked list?

It seems to me that in a previous version of Firefox that one could add a bookmark to the Bookmarks Toolbar and have it stay there.
I like to keep things neat and tidy. Now when I delete this bookmark from the Recently Bookmarked list (or the Unsorted Bookmarks list), Firefox insists only deleting it from the Bookmarks Toolbar as well.
How do I add a bookmark to the Bookmarks toolbar and keep it there? Am I required to keep it in the Recently Bookmarked and/or Unsorted Bookmarks list in order to have it remain on the Bookmarks Toolbar?

* "Most Visited" and "Recently Bookmarked" and "Recent Tags" are examples of so called Smart Bookmarks folders and are not real existing folders.
* Smart folders show a list created by a query of the places.sqlite database that stores bookmarks and history in Firefox.
* Smart folder lists show a maximum of 10 entries by default.
* Bookmarks and history items that show up in a smart folder list are stored elsewhere in another folder and any changes made are applied to the real bookmark or history item.
* If you remove an entry then the list is shifted up and a new entry that wasn't shown previously is added to show 10 entries.
* If you add a new bookmark or visit a website then a new item is added at the top and the entry at the bottom disappears from that list.

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like <i>Adblock Plus</i> or <i>NoScript</i> or <i>Flash Block</i> that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
You can use one of these to start Firefox in <u>Safe mode</u>:
*On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
*On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
*Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
If it works in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

• On windows 7 pro, how do i add firefox bookmarks to the start menu?

On Windows 7 professional, how do I add firefox bookmarks to the start menu so I can access my bookmarks without opening firefox first?

Only Favorites can be displayed as a submenu of the Start Menu. You can convert your Firefox bookmarks to IE favorites as follows:
# Export your bookmarks to an HTML file.
# Import the bookmarks in Internet Explorer.
# In Firefox, install the PlainOldFavorites extension. This will allow you to create and manage favorites from Firefox.
# Alternatively, if you use both browsers, you can keep bookmarks and favorites synchronized with an extension like Xmarks Sync.

What you are seeing is how Safari works now in iOS 5. There is no way to get that icon in Safari now. There other much better browsers available in the App Store. Look at iCab Mobile, Mercury, Atomic, ....
I have been running iOS 5x for so long now, that I don't even remember if that icon did appear in earlier iOS versions

• How can I add javascript text fields to Acrobat pages from Applescript please?

I have a real need to add text fields to Acrobat document pages from Applescript. I can't access the Headers and Footers from Applescript in Acrobat XI. I can set watermarks using the following script, but cannot for the life of me work out how to add text fields. Any advice please?

G'day
Unfortunately I don't have the API. My Adobe Reader installation updating to version XI failed, and subsequent attempts to fall back on the X version are blocked by the partial install of XI. Damn Adobe stuff.
Could someone please post the relevant part of the API to give me some pointers, please.
I ha mucked about with some information I found on the Web, and come up with the following, which fails because I can't work out how to address the current document with the variable myDoc.
