  • Scanning Documents in Oracle Forms

    Dear All,
Kindly i need to scan documents through oracle forms 6i. What should i do? and is there a special scanner that is working for oracle forms 6i.

This is not a very common request, but a few people have posted the question and some have posted solutions. I did a quick search of the forum and found the following:
1 - Here is a solutions based on a Java Bean (Need to read image from scanner
2 - Here is a reference to using OLE: Scanning using OCX. This option uses the D2kWutil library so you make have trouble converting from Forms 6i to 10g or newer later on. I'm not sure this post has a complete code example or only posts enough code to point you in the right direction.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig

  • How to add a digital signature in xml publisher report

The problem is: There is a existing pick slip report. This is a xml publisher report and the data source is RDF. We have to add digital signature there. Now this signature is stored in a table with type Long Raw and format BMP. XML Publisher do not support Long Raw and BMP format. It supports BLOB and jpg format.
Could you please guide how to add this signature in the existing RDF with datatype as BLOB and format as jpg.
Please provide the steps with example.

  • How do I retain digital signatures when merging documents?

We digitallty sign invoices, but when we merge them with the copies of the checks, the digital signatures are removed.  Is there any way to retain those signatures in the merging process?

One really crucial thing to "get" right at the start of working with PDFs and digital signatures is this: what is signed is not a page, but a document. This can be painful when trying to convert a paper workflow based on signing pages. But the signature is giving the authenticity of the whole of the PDF. This is, in fact, a key reason why portfolios were invented.

  • How to add a new font into Report Builder and Oracle Forms/Reports Server?

    Hi,
I've searched the forum and can't find this being discussed.
My developers run Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 on their XP laptops.
Their reports run (in production) on Oracle Forms/Reports Server 10.1.2.0.2.
This server runs on MS Windows 2003, SP2.
They've got a client who wants reports using the "Garamond Western" font.
So....how do I get this font onto the developer's Report Builder laptops, and onto the Oracle Forms/Reports Server?
I've moved various 'Garamond' fonts into C:\WINDOWS\FONTS on both the laptops and the server, but neither seem to recognize it.
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks.
This answers 1/2 of my question.
The developer can now use Report Builder on his laptop, with the new fonts.
But when he moves this new Report to the Oracle Application Server/Forms-Reports Server, it fails to use the new fonts.
The Oracle App Server/Forms-Report Server is Version 10.1.2.0.2. It runs on MS Windows 2003, SP2.
I have installed the exact same fonts on this server, into C:\WINDOWS\Fonts.
I have used REGEDIT to change REPORTS_PATH....and placed C:\WINDOWS\Fonts; as the first value in this field.
I have then stopped and restarted the Forms-Reports Server.

  • Is there any way to add a digital signature field at the end of forms?

I am trying to have my patients fill out the mandatory forms online and have them sign it aswell.
    any help would be great.

You can easily create a form in FormsCentral that your patients can fill online but FormsCentral doesn't support signature field.
If you must have a signatures then you can have a look at http://echosign.acrobat.com.
You can still use FormsCentral to create a PDF form that you can then use with EchoSign but you won't be able to gather data in FormsCentral.

Hmm, if you are not using Oracle Payroll, what are you using for payroll? I am wondering why you could not use your payroll system, whatever it is, to handle this reimbursement program.
Well, you may want to talk to Oracle support about how to handle this in Oracle iExpense. You can certainly handle advances for Expense Reports. You would then apply the advance to the expense report items. The catch is I don't think you can stop expense item entry after the adavance is satisfied. You would have to set up a work flow process of some kind to have the expense reports reviewed and only approve expenses that are applied to the advance, is what I am thinking. Not your ideal solution, but something to think about. It could be the Oracle folks might know of a sneaky way to handle this. What you are trying to do is unusual. Employee advances are common, but the idea of not being able to exceed the advance amount is what unusual about this. Normally you will accept any expenses over the advance amount and reimburse the employee for those extra amounts not advanced.
    Good luck.

  • How do I add a digital signature to my online form?

With regular Adobe (Standard or Professional) software, you can add a digital signature line.  I want to know how I can do it on FormCentral.
When I PDF the form I created on FormCentral and try to add the digital signature in Adobe, I get a message that I cannot due to security settings of the document.

Formscentral does not support forms with digital signature workflows. I suggest you see if our Echosign product meets your needs.

  • In Adobe X Pro, how do I create a digital signature in my document so that my receiver is able to sign it electronically.

In Adobe X Pro, how do I create a digital signature in my document so that my receiver is able to sign it electronically.

If the other person will be using Reader, you should first add a digital signature field and then Reader enable the form. In Acrobat 10 you'd select: Tools > Forms > Edit
to get into form editing mode. You'd then select the signature field tool to add a signature field.
Once you have the document finalized, Reader-enable the document by selecting: File > Save As > Reader-Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features
being sure to save to a new file so you don't overwrite the original. If you don't Reader-enable, Reader users won't be able to digitally sign.

  • How to digitally sign a scanned document

We have copiers and a large format scanner that can create PDF files. We would like to be able to affix digital signatures to these documents. The application is that we create plan sets for public construction projects and those are 'stamped' with a seal. We would like to start doing that electronically if possible. We have Adobe Acrobat Pro verson 8.

If you really want a digital signature, you can easily add one in Acrobat. I don't have Acrobat 8 to tell you exactly how you'd do it, but the Acrobat help doc should have more information. In Acrobat 9, you do it by selecting: Advanced > Sign & Certify > Place Signature
or: File > Save as Certified Document
You will first have to set up a digital identity. In Acrobat 9 you do this by selecting: Advanced > Security Settings > Digital IDs > Add ID
You can create digital signature appearances that get used with a digital signature. To configure one, select (again, Acrobat 9): Edit > Preferences > Security > Digital Signatures > Appearance > New (or Edit)
If you don't need all that a digital signature provides, you can use a stamp, perhaps a dynamic one, to add your seal. You can then flatten the page to convert the stamp annotation to regular page contents, preventing a user from altering it.

Glad you stepped in and elucidated my inadequate explanation.
Step by Step explanations of the problem will get Step by Step instructions, but its been a week and the O.P. hasn't elaborated on what they actually want.
You may consider it a horrible answer, what was your opinion of the question?

how to create a digital signature in adobe reader?

Adobe Reader Touch (Windows Store app with "modern" UI) does not support any types of signatures yet.
    Digital Signatures with certificates
Electronic Signatures (that are legally enforceable)
Signature annotations (hand-writing annotations which may not be secure and legally enforceable)
Adobe Reader XI (traditional desktop app with classic UI) supports #1 and #3.
    Adobe EchoSign supports #2.
Adobe Reader for iOS/Android supports #3.
