How to add a directory into a jar file

Hi, guys, I want to add a package into a jar file. For example, my dirctory structrue
is org/test/, all files locate in the directory test, in org.test package. I want to
add the package into a jar file, test.jar. I use "java -cvf test.jar -C org/test/ .
But it says "jar: no match". How can I solve it.

Instead of 'java', use 'jar'.
All in all, try this: jar cvf test.jar -C org/test/*.class.

I am using WinRAR to extract the package rt.jar and added
my class file to javax folder. Then I use jar c0vf to create
a package. After that, I restart my WSAD4.0.2. But it seems
that WSAD4.0.2 can not be started. (It stops at the welcome

Need help: how to make a package into a jar file?

I tried to make a package into a jar file by using:
jar cf a.jar packagedirectory
But when I import one class of this package in an other application, by using:
javac -cp path\a.jar; app.java
the compliler can not find the calss.
The interesting thing is if I do not put the package into the jar file, it works well.
Here is my sample code under path D:\b\b1
package b1;
public class Son
     int x = 10;
     public Son(){
     public int getX(){
          return x;
and the application code under path d:\b
import b1.Son;
public class Father
     public Father(){
     public static void main(String[] args)
          Son son = new Son();
          System.out.println("Hello World!"+son.getX());

You must make sure that you are in the right directory
when you do your jar command to create the archive.
[home/trejkaz/proj/test/classes]% jar -cf a.jar
path/to/package/*.class

Yes, I did as what you said, but it does not work.
Here is what I did:
1. Edit Father.java in D:\b
2. Edit Son.java in D:\b\b1
3. Compile Son.java
4. Complie Father.java
5. Make the a.jar by
command jar cf a.jar D:\b\b1\ (I cheked the content of the a.jar, it seems right.)
a.jar is in directory D:\b
6. Delete Son.class in D:\b\b1
7. Run Father.class by
command: java -classpath D:\b\a.jar; Father
error message is: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: b1/Son
at Father.main(Father.java:11)
What is the problem?

How to detrmine what directory you (the JAR file) are in

Is there some sort of function that returns (ideally in a string, or array of strings) what directory you (the JAR file) are in? Something along the lines of:
String dir = Function();Then dir would be something like : "C:\Users and Settings\Me\Java Apps"

It's not clear exactly what is wanted. Look at the information in the API for java.lang.System,getProperties(), which lists properties available - choos the one you want.

How to add empty folder in a jar file ?

Well
I know how to add files in a jar file but I cannot add empty folder.
I would like to do this so that when I get back the jar file I can have all the structure of the save main folder.
I also test that it is possible to do that on line with the "jar" command.
Does any of you know how to do this programacticaly ?

Need help on how to add a delimeter into a text file

Actually, this program reads a textfile. After reading, i need to put certain delimeters after certain characters and print them out to a new file.
this is how it works :
for example...
471117-01-5179052004 VENUE SECURITIES SDN. BHD.
This is wat the programs read. Now i have to put a semicolon after this numbers ..
471117-01-5179052004 (;)
then put another semiclon after this words
VENUE SECURITIES SDN. BHD.(;)
But, this text file contains around 2000 lines, and i have to do this for each line...thts y i dunt understand how to code it.

The jar utility allows you to extract files as well as put them into a jar. This is in the java docs.
You might have to hand modify the manifest file if it was hand modified in the first place. All you should have to do is copy the text from one file to another. The manifest will have the same name so you will have to extract to different dirs so it isn't overwritten.
Steps:
-Create dir1 and dir2
-Extract jar1 into dir1, Extract jar2 into dir2.
-Manually examine manifests and combine if needed.
-Copy files from one dir to another.
-Use jar tool to create new jar.

Hi Bratip Bhattacharyya,
SolMan 3.2 needs SLD only for automatic data gathering of the sap landscape; you can choose between SLD and LIS in transaction SMSY_SETUP (which simply uses the TMS-domain controllers for information gathering).
XI needs SLD, but XI needs also a netweaver04 (s) system (Abap WAS 6.40). SolMan 3.2 isn't a netweaver04 system (Abap WAS 6.20). So you have to install XI as an own central instance (Abap + Java) on the same windows server, if you like. In this case you have to install for XI an own SLD. Different SLDs can create bridges between themselves. Please look at the SLD configuration guide (quicklink /netweaver -> installation guides).
But don't ask me how to install two sap systems on one server on windows (on Linux it's easy I have done so); basically it will have an own SID and own "service" numbers (which means own tcp port numbers).
If you can't dedicate to XI an own server, it's only a question of hardware sizing. For the different combinations of netweaver components you should study the master guide for netweawer.

Calling ABAP Subroutines: PERFORM
You can use the PERFORM command to call an ABAP subroutine (form) from any program, subject to the normal ABAP runtime authorization checking. You can use such calls to subroutines for carrying out calculations, for obtaining data from the database that is needed at display or print time, for formatting data, and so on.
PERFORM commands, like all control commands, are executed when a document is formatted for display or printing. Communication between a subroutine that you call and the document is by way of symbols whose values are set in the subroutine.
Syntax in a form window:
