How to add a genre to itunes

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how I can add a genre to my iTunes store?
My iTunes store country is The Netherlands and I would like to filter on the genre Country,
which I can not select in my iTunes account on the iPad, iPod and iPhone. I am afraid that
the country is the limitation but hopefully I am wrong.

In the case of a movie, for instance, select the movie title then right-click and select get info.
At the bottom, in the Genre box there may or may not be something listed there. Select the drop down and search for a suitable genre. If none found and you want to add then select none or custom so that the box becomes empty. Now simply type in your own genre. It will be added to the list.

Help - How To Add Email Account To ITunes

I’ve added a Gmail account to my iPhone (original model using iTunes 7.7 & OS 2.0) and Entourage and Mail applications. It works fine in both applications and the iPhone.
My problem is that it does not appear in the list of my older mail accounts in iTunes when I sync my iPhone. It appears that iTunes does not recognize the newly added Gmail account even though it is fully functional.
Does anyone know how to add an email account to iTunes so that its settings will be synced?

I am having the same problem. Two mail accounts on the computer but none show up in itunes. They did the first time I synced the phone and now they are gone, unfortunately the first time i synced I didn't sync the mail accounts and on the second sync I was going to set up the mail accounts but they've vanished. Very strange. I've searched and have seen another post on this problem, but no solution.

Please help me to figure out how to add my device to iTunes as I cannot get it to automatically sync. I think the machine only recognizes my phone and not my iPod classic.

When iTunes encounters a file that is not compatible it "errors silently," which looks to the user exactly like "nothing is happening." So I'm guessing that the files you found are either in a format not compatible with iTunes, or else are corrupted, more likely the former.
Do they play OK in another player, such as QuickTime or VLC?

I don't know much about .mkv I believe it is a package format. If you're lucky you can open it in a program such as Streamclip and re-save it as .mp4, but that's only if the enclosed codecs work in .mp4 Otherwise you'll have to use one of the many free (or I am sure eventually somebody who makes one that costs money but basically does the same as the free ones will eventually post here as hidden advertising) transcoders to re-code it to a format playable by iTunes.

1). Connect your iPod to your new computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. 4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

How to add duplicate songs into iTunes?

Contrary to what many people want to do, I wish to add duplicate files into my iTunes library. I am in the middle of adding a new set including the B-side songs that were originally left out of the release of an album.
All of the songs are already in the library (including the B-sides, imported individually), however I wish to import the copies I have purposely made. I don't want to create a new playlist or anything like that.

Do the two different files have the same name?
If so, could you use Windows Explorer to rename the file itself so that, for example, if one is 07 The Reckoning.m4a the other is 07 The Reckoning Vinyl.m4a.
You should be able to add the renamed file to your iTunes Library - with or without then changing any of the tag information that iTunes itself displays.

What are trying to do ? You can log into your account via the Store > Sign In menu option at the top of the iTunes screen (if you have iTunes 11 on your PC then control-B should get the menus to show), and you can authorise your account via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option :
Your content will then only show if you add it to that computer e.g. you might be able to redownload your purchases via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page, or you can copy it from your old computer or your backup of your library (File > Add To Library).

Hi, I had to restore my MacBook Pro to factory settings, and I moved my iTunes Music library to an external hard drive by copying the music folder (180 GB), and now I want to copy that folder again to iTunes, that has no info, its all clean.

THe same thing happened to me when My laptop crashed last semester. I had to replace the hard drive and a whole mess of stuff... anyway...
All you need to do is put the CD in and copy the music to the iTunes folder. It was that easy for me. If you have any trouble, call the manufacturer of the new computer (it probably has a warranty, and might have some tricky settings that could be putting a wrench in the works). Usually, they will help you get your new computer up and running, and know the ins and outs of transferring data from one system to another.
