How to add a soundtrack to a video

I could not see a video, so I extracted the AC3 soundtrack with DiVx Doctor II, then changed it into an MP3 wit mAC3dec and I was supposed to be able through QuickTime Pro 7 to add the MP3 soundtrack to the .avi... But I can't figure out the way to do it.
Anyone knows how?

That makes two of us. My Philosophy-Predicate Logic professor used to say that a problem was the difference between where you are and where you want to be and that the solution was how to get from one place to the other. While I applaud you telling us what you have done, I am forced to confess that I still have no idea what kind of a file you started with or what kind of a file you are trying to end up with.
If you have a good AC3 audio file and wish to convert it to an editable compression format that is fully supported by QT and all QT applications, I would recommend AIFF. If you have the free MPEG Streamclip application installed, simply "Open > Audio File" option to load it to the application and then select the "Export to Other Format" option to export the file to "No" Video and "AIFF" Audio at 48.0 KHz, 16-bit, and mono/stereo as needed. The resulting file should be compatible with all QT applications.
As I am not sure if you are starting with an AVI (or other compressed) file w/AC3 and that your are trying to extract the AC3, convert it and then add it back to the same file (or a different AVI file), what video compression format is involved, or what QT components you may have installed, it is difficult to suggest and more direct work flow involving fewer intermediate steps.

The answer is no way you can add a video card on your laptop. Actually nearly all laptops including many which have dedicated video cards.

  • How to add a simple commentary, no video?

Hopefully this is a simple one.
I have an iDVD project where I have 3 independent ballet movies. I need to add a commentary for each one that can be clicked on from the main menu to introduce each piece. No video, just a short spoken introduction.
I'm planning to record each commentary in Garageband.
How would I go about this, none of my iDVD books mention such an approach.
    Thanks,
    JT

    sounds like a charming project..
but... DVDs usually contain video, are watched on a TV ..
so: what does your audience see, while listening?
    black?
here comes your content: create a black clip in iM and add your commentary..
me personally would prefer a 'moving' image, which tells me, my DVDplayer isn't broken.. add some 'art' .. a nice Ken Burns to some Ballerina shot? or, 'paint' in some pic processor the word 'dance' and manipulate to a piece of art.. finally, some plug-ins from geethree.com or other sources offer 'generic moving backdrops' ... iTunes Visualizer-like ..

  • How to add a border around a video (padding out to a larger size)?

    Hi,
I'm having problems doing this in Quicktime Pro. I don't want to increase the size of the visible part of the video, just pad it out with black space. I created a gif file of the size I want and pasted it in, but rather than the video increasing to fit the pasted image, the opposite happened and the image was scaled down to fit the video. Any help gratefully appreciated.

First issue is the GIF format (only 256 colors). Don't use that format.
To add a "black" box (or any other color) to your existing QuickTime file you should first make your image file in a format (other than GIF) that also supports transparency.
Depending on your image editing software the PNG format is the best choice. But JPEG will also work if your use 32 bit color (no transparency layer).
To add this image to your existing QuickTime file follow these steps:
Create the image file (1 bit for just black and white colors) and size it to the dimensions desired. JPEG or PNG will work nearly the same but JPEG doesn't support alpha channels.
So, lets say your have a 320X240 QuickTime file but want a "box" around it sized at 320X320 (square).
Create a 320X320 all black image saved as PNG or JPEG.
Open that file with QuickTime Pro, select "all" (Control-A) and "copy'"(Control-C).
Switch to your 320X240 QuickTime "video" file.
Select all (Control-A) and move to the Edit menu. Pick "Add to Selection & Scale". This will add your image to the entire "video" portion.
Control-J to open the Movie Properties window.
Highlight (single click) on the "Video" track portion of your new composite video.
    Click the "Visual Settings" tab.
Here is where you change to position of your video track in relationship to your image track.
The "Offset" is what you need to adjust (because your video is smaller in dimensions than the image track).
Default positioning is 0,0 (upper left). You need to add new values to the offset to set the position of the video track. It may take a few tries to get what you want. Changing the offset values until you get the size and shape you desire.
Save As. Give the file a new name and save as "self-contained" to make a new file.
These same steps can add "video backgrounds" to another "video" track.

  • How handle Add Media Failure Error: File Video Dimensions (Width/Height) Too Large?

I am a brand new user of Premiere Elements.  I am using it for stop gap animation, bringing in digital still photos from my Nikon D3200.  I just attempted to bring in the first set of photos from the SD card.  I'm running Windows 7.   After loading the photos, an "Add Media Failure" box came up with the message "Error:  File Video Dimensions (width/height) too large".   Is something wrong with the width and height of the photos and if so what do I need to do to make it work?  There were 763 photos, but the message seems to refer to the height/width of each photo and not the total file size so to speak - right?  During the import process, the program prompted us to bring the photos in as images and not as videos -- so that is what we selected.  Thank you for any assistance.

You do it exactlky the same.
Select all teh songs you want, right click - get info.
Tick the box next to Artwork and drag or paste artwork into the box.

How do i add photos in my Ipod Video and View them?

Can you just open your ipod like a hard drive and put photos in the folder named Photo
You need to let iTunes handle the transfer in order for the pictures to be viewable on the iPod. iTunes creates specially sized preview images and organizes the pictures & previews as it does for music files. If you put the pictures on manually through Windows Explorer and the iPod hard disk "interface", then you can retrieve the pictures on another computer. But the pictures won't display on the iPod.

  • Can't figure out how to add bars to reformat 16:9 video to fit a 4:3 frame

Hi all, I'm a long-time user of iMovie 5, and a professional Avid video editor. On my home computer, however, I have some serious issues using the "dumbed down" version of iMovie '08 which, unfortunately, it seems I must use if I want to avoid purchasing new software, and don't feel like trucking my personal work to the office.
Usability issues aside, I'm at a total loss as to how to reformat my imported video clips. At the moment I have a .dv file which is exported from FCP in a 16:9 format. I want to take this into iMovie '08, format it to fit a 4:3 window, add it to a bunch of other clips, and export a finished 4:3 movie to then put on DVD.
Importing is fine, editing is meh but works (sorry, I'm a snob), and exporting works fine, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to put a reformat on the video. The goal is to have black bars on the top and bottom of the video image, squeezing the anamorphic 16:9 video down so that people don't look vertically stretched in a 4:3 window.
What I do NOT want to do is crop out any of the video footage. The goal is to keep all of the video, and just add the black to the top and bottom in order to make it look, well, normal. For the life of me, I can't figure it out. it looks like this would be something that the Crop / Fit tool does, but that won't let me extend the fit outside of the frame of the video, nor will it let me put a 16:9 fit inside of the 4:3 viewing window (I only have a 4:3 option when in 4:3 mode, and only have a 16:9 option when in 16:9 mode).
Thank you very much for your insight.
PS: Just as an aside, why on earth did apple move iMovie '08 away from timeline-based editing? The old iMovie versions were quite powerful editing suites in their own right - even with limited video and audio layers. The '08 version seems to just hate users who want to do anything remotely close to frame-specific edits.

I guess I've got to add the flags back in somehow? The weird thing is that the movie is the correct aspect ratio in iTunes and Quicktime, just not iMovie '08.
iTunes, QT Player, and previous versions of iMovie all relied on the "Current Display Size" setting to set the aspect ratio. (I.e., you can modify this setting and change the aspect ratio by merely changing the display size in QT Pro and re-saving the file for these apps.) Unfortunate, iMovie '08 looks for the flag for the main display/export, and, if Apple hasn't changed things, uses the "current display size" to set the aspect ratio of the thumbnails... Weird.
How would I add those flags back in? Can I just open in quicktime and save a new copy? Or am I going to have to contact the original source of the material and have him export it again (with different settings? And what settings would those be? He's coming from FCP).
If the content is of exceptional quality, you could try re-exporting it in MPEG Streamclip using the "Export to DV..." option. This will re-flag the file with the aspect ratio you select in the export window. Also, be advised that performing destructive edits in iMovie '08 that forces the data to be re-written to new containers will lose the flag in the process unless Apple has made some recent changes to avoid this.

  • How to add video tag in office 365 master page?

    Hi All,
I have created a branding in Office 365. Now I want to add video in the background of my master page.
How should I achieve It. the <Video></Video> is not working. It is giving error to me.
Any option how to add videos in background of master page in Office 365?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
From your description, my understanding is that you want to use video tag in your Office 365.
You should check the video type in your issue, video tag only support mp4 file which you could refer to this article:http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_video.asp.

  • How do I add to a Captivate 8 Video Demo

I recently upgraded from Captivate 7 to 8. I have created a number of Video Demos in Captivate 7. I tried creating my 1st one in version 8 and am struggling with how to add to the end of the Video Demo. I usually create in segments, break, plan the next section and then record the next segment. THis used to be easy in v7. But I am not seeing how to do this in Version 8. If it is not obvious for me, it must not be obvious for others.
    Can some one help me?

Maybe you forgot to click on the button 'Edit Video'? It is still on the same location as for CP7, very little has changed for the cpvc files except the feature to get rid of popups.

  • How do I add a title to a video clip w/ LiveType 2 and Final Cut Express 4

I have Final Cut Express 4 & LiveType 2.1.4, I'm not sure how to add titles or test to a video clip, and the tutorials for Final Cut Express 4 don't say how to get started in LiveType. How do I simply add text? The tutorials say how to add effects to the text they just don't say how to add it to the clip or how to get the clip into LiveType.

Well, you don't actually _add text_ to a video clip, you _create a text clip_ and add that clip to your timeline, either adjacent to an existing clip or on the next higher track if you want to layer the text with an existing video clip.
The very simplest way to add text is to use one of the *text generators* built into FCE. Lower Third, Text, Scrolling Text, etc. allow you to create various text clips and give you basic controls over fonts, positioning, size, color, etc. You can find the text generators in the Effects tab in the FCE Browser.
LiveType is a separate and more sophisticated application that enables you to do all sorts of things with text (much more than can be done with the FCE text generators). The basic process is - create your title in a LiveType project. Save the LiveType project. Then in FCE, import the LiveType project; from there, you can treat it just the same as any other clip.

  • How to add a website link into a final cut video

Does anyone know how to add a website link that someone can click on that I can add to a video I might be creating in Final Cut Express? I am looking for an easy way to do this and I cannot find one. Thanks.

I believe Media100 is the only application that can do this. Or at least it used to, don't know if it still does. There is a company called VideoClix that can create hot spots on QuickTime files. The technology is in QuickTime, who'd just have to learn how to do it.
