How to add an infoobject in a DSO ,on which Infoset is built

Hi,
How to add an infoobject to a DSO,on which an infoset is build.
In general common infoobjects can be for reporting purpose right?
Do I need to add the new infoobject in all the DSOs.My infoset consists of 6 DSOs.
If my concept is wrong.what is the correct method of extracting infoobjects from DSOs to Infoset.

Hi,
You need to add these two fields in the DSO only. Make sure that you are mapping these two fields in the transformation. After that, drop the data and reload the DSO. Then make changes to the infoset.
By Component, what I mean:
I'll take your example only...
Say, for Material_Group, this data is not coming to DSo data Source. In this case, even if you will add this object to your DSO, you wont be able to map this in the transformation as R3 filed is not available. Ultimately, you wont be able to load data for this. So, its worthless.
But, you have a master data called 0Material. and Material_Group is an attribute of this 0Material.In this case, you will add 0Material to the infoset directly, as a component of infoset(from the tab infoobject), and you will select Material group. In this way, we generally aceess the master data attributes.

Hi Sunil,
If you want to add new info object to the IC or DSO which is already holding data - then you need to make a copy of that particular DSO/IC and load the data into dummy.
Now delete the data from the IC/DSO to which you want to add the new info object. once the data is deleted it will allow you to add new info object to you IC/DSO.
save it and activate the IC/DSO
load the data from Dummy DSO and from new run on wards the newly updated info object will also get updated(historical data will not be updated if its newly added to DS as well).
If you want the historical data for the newly added field then you need to drop the compelte data and need to extract from source.
Note: You can't include the new info objects are change the existing info objects if there is data exist in the IC/DSO

i have a requirement to find the list of all infocubes and DSO in which a particular navigational attribute say:xxx_yyy [i have list of 50 nav attr for which i have to do this] is used.
i need ur help on this.

guys, 80% of my problem got solved.
here is the solution list as u all have suggested and that i have checked it also.
RSDCUBEIOBJ - infocube list for any nav-attr
RSDODSOATRNAV - DSO list for any nav-attr
ODSOIOBJ. - DSO list for any infoobj
but in these tables, one thing i observe is that each infocube/DSO name is repeated multiple times. why is that? from where it populate?

How to add a comment in a php file which has html code

Hi
I have a html file which I renamed .php after adding a form. I discovered that the html comment text I was using -  - was affecting how the page rendered, particularly in IE9.
My question is, now that it is a php file do I need to change all the comments syntax? I started to do it using the "apply comment" button in CS5 i.e. syntax: <?php /*?>form<?php */?>.
Is this the right way to do it? It gives "php" icons in design view but appears to render ok.

How To Add InfoObject in the Data Selection Tab of InfoPackages in 2004s

Hi Y'all!
I would like to ask how to add an infoobject in the Data Selection Tab of the InfoPackage in 2004s. It says its optional, this definintion of selection criteria for the infopackage.
My apologies, I don't understand how this is done. Surely, I would like, however, to understand how to add an infoobject in this data selection Tab of the InfoPackage in 2004s.
Can any kind soul out there (gurus) please lend me your thoughts?

Insert infoobject in the DSO.

Hi Experts,
1.I need to add the infoobect to one of the DSO of the multiprovider. I see the infoobject in the DSO infoobject dropdown list. my question is if i add the infoobject to the DSO, do i have do add it in the extractor as well?
2. In the transfer rules i see my infoobject on the right hand side (assing fied object). Do i have to move to the left side in order to add the infoobject to the extractor? what it mean if the infoobject is on the right hand side in the transfer rules? what it mean if i move the infoobject to the left hand side?

You need to map this new InfoObject to some field of datasource or derive it using some other field.
Ex1: lets say added Calyear as new IO to the ods. In the update rule of ODS you can derive it using caldate.
Ex2: you added doc# to the ODS. you want to populate it using a particular field of the datasource. Adding doc# will make it available only in the ODS. Add this IO to the InfoSource/Communication strucutre. In the transfer rules map this IO the field you want it to be populated from the datasource. In the update rules map this IO to the same IO from InfoSource.
If there is no field in the datasource corresponding to this IO then you need to enhance extractor such that it brings this new field.

How to add an Infotype to an exsting Infoset (ad hoc query)

How to add an Infotype (Ex. 0025) to an exsting Infoset (ad hoc query)?
I was trying by clicking on 'Extras' tab & create...I get three options, create field, create table or create structure.
I am not sure which to use or is there any other way? Pls. let me know the steps...
Also what is this 'Package', which is aked whenever you create or change an Infoset.

I was able to add the infotype by adding the table as PA0025 & include all the fields in the field group.
When I check, I get the following error:

Hi,
Using JNDI how to add user as a member of group which is present in another AD domain?
For example: In AD forest test.com their are two domain a.test.com and b.test.com. Group is present in a.test.com and I want to add user present in b.test.com as a member of the group.
Any pointer around this would be great help.

If the group is a universal group, you can just add members similar to local group even if user and group are in different domains. That is by setting the member attribute of the group.

How to add a property to BasicPersistence SDK example.

I see in the BasicPersistence example that it creates a property call BPIData and persists this in the IDML. I would like to add another property call MyProperty. Do you know how to add an additional property to the example which is persisted in the IDML, so now it would persist 2 properties?

I want to know, How to add "prefix_" with file name (epub/pdf) which ACS generate after packaging. Suppose, I package a pdf file and ACS packaged it and store it on media server with the name of "98h3jkd98s79fdh93h.epub". Now I want ACS make this like "PREFIX_98h3jkd98s79fdh93h.epub".

I have passed <filename>, <location> and <src> parameter in our packaging request xml. File is packaging successfully and service is also placing the encrypted file to new location listed in <location> but following error is comming:

I WOULD LIKE TO INSERT TWO INFOOBJECTS IN MY DSO WHICH IS CURRENTLY WORKING IN THE PRODUCTION SERVER AND GIVING REPORTS SUCCESSFULLY. I HAVE TESTED THOSE TWO INFOOBJECTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND FOUND CORRECT. MY FEAR IS IF I CREATE THE INFOOBJECTS DIRECTLY IN THE PRODUCTION SERVER AND JOIN IN TRANSFORMATION,WILL IT AFFECT MY CURRENT REPORT.
WHAT SHOULD BE THE CORRECT METHOD??

Hi,
You Will not have the authorization to create / modify objects in Production environment, and that is not good practice,
Correct Method: create / modify in BI Development system, active all the related objects and move to BI Quality system; perform testing, load the data, if every thing fine, then move the changes to production.

But here is the scenario....
I need some extra fields that are available in other ODS. How to add that fields ?
By some research came to know that.. I need to lookup on the ODS and populate into existing Infospoke.How to add these fields to InfoSpoke using BAdi implementaion.
Note: already BAdi is active in the infospoke.

As you mentioned that BADI is already implemented then I guess you should be able to extend the existing BADI itself.
For doing lookup first you should know the key fields of source DSO then by using the existing field of Infospoke you will have to read data from DSO.
DATA: it_data type standard table of 'DSO Name'.
select Key1 key2 etc...
          Field1 Field2 Field3 Field4
          from DSO
          into table it_data
          for all entries of infospoke
         where key1 = infospoke1-key1
                     key2 = infospoke2-key2.
This will give you all the required records from source DSO into internal table it_data. Now you using this table you can populate the original table of Infospoke.
