How to add an old time projector effect to a title

Hello, I want to add a date to a beginning of an old home movie film that looks like it was being projected through a projector. In other words would like to have scratches and the like show up in the date to go with the rest of the films old look. Wondering if someone could someone please point me in the right direction. I've also posted the question in the Motion Forum. thanks for the help

Here is a link for a free FCP plug-in for an aged film look. I've used it before with great results!

  • How to add an "age / time counter" into DW?

Can anyone assist on how to add an age / time counter into DW?
In other words to say "Child X is now a years, b months old"? or "Product Z was launched A years B months ago"? Or, on the other hand, "You only have Z days & Y minutes left to enter"? With it updating in real time?
Apologies in advance if this is a silly / obvious question but I just can't seem to do it!

This isn't something you would add to DW, you would need to add it to your webpages. You would do this with javascript. Search the web for
'javascript countdown timer' for plenty of examples.

    Hi all,
    here my results.
    You can install it.
    It shows up in Effects.
But as soon as you've put it in - Premiere Elements 8.0 crashes.
It even shows implemented time in the preview, but as soon as you work with it for more then 2-10 seconds it let's Premiere crash.
Seems like we have to wait for an update from the developer.

  • Help: How do I use old Time Machiene Back up?

I recently ugraded my MBP to a newer version.
I used to use time machiene to back up on a 1 TB external HD.
After migrating all settings from my old MBP I am not able to use the old Time Machiene backup from August 08, any ideas on how i can link the back up?
    Thanks

You cannot. It is a different machine. You need to start a new backup. You can continue to access the old backups from the old machine by ctrl-clicking the Time Machine icon on the Dock and selecting +Browse Other Time Machine disks+ .

  • How do I purge old time capsule names?

I have been unable to get an old 1TB time capsule to run as a back up on time machine with a Mac mini (OSX10.9.5)—I have spent almost two days trying to set it up to work as it should but in the end I have had to come here.
On the time capsule, I have updated firmware to 7.6.4, reset to factory by pressing the button inset on the back (several times) and erased all data using Airport utility 6.3.2.
First off, I want to purge any and all old time-capsule names (and lost passwords) that pop up every time I activate time machine>select disk or airport utility>base station. This still happens even after I have reset and erased all data on the time capsule.

Not sure how I could uninstall 7.6.4,
Downgrade firmware by holding down the option key when you click the version number in the summary screen.
(I also did this with TC connected directly to the Mini via ethernet to the WAN port),
Never connect to the WAN port.. always LAN.. you are setting this wrongly so getting into trouble.. All devices behind plug into LAN or connect to wireless.. only the router connects to WAN.
when I opened TMachine (TM) up popped the "old disc name" on "the new TC name."
Reset TM.. you are mixing things up.
Time Machine needs to be totally fixed from the computer.. the setting on the TC is totally irrelevant.
    See A4 here. http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
Now I cannot seem to get the Mini and TC to see the ethernet connection at all. FYI the ethernet connection on SysPrefs>network shows "self-assigned IP"
You are plugged into the wrong port.
It is LAN not WAN. Hence no IP address.
It looks like a clusterF to me...any suggestions as to how to get TM/TC to back up via ethernet before disconnecting the ethernet connection and going totally radio?
Full manual setup of the TC in total isolation from the network... MUST WORK.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5800974?tstart=0
Or should I just use TM with an external HD connected to the mini via USB, which at present looks like a far more sensible option?
Local backup is faster, more reliable and in Mavericks 1000% better.. Mavericks has major network issues.
And TM is lousy as well.
I use Carbon Copy Cloner as a backup software.. as well as TM.. it is more reliable and bootable clone backups can be tested in a few min so you know they work. None of this is possible with TM.

  • How do I copy old Time Machine back-up data onto my new (second) back up drive?

I recently bought a second back-up drive for use with my MacBook Pro (running 10.9.4).
I'm successfully backing up my computer to both drives on a regular basis using Time Machine. (a Seagate drive and a Western Digital drive respectively)
I was wondering if there's an easy way to add the old back-up files from the old drive to the new drive as well. That is to say, I wish I had all the data that precedes my new back-up drive on BOTH drives. There's plenty of space on the new drive.
Again, I'm already running Time Machine successfully to both drives, is it perhaps as easy as connecting both drives to my computer and copying the older dated back-up files over to the newer drive within the Backups.backupdb folder for my profile?
    Thanks for any help!

Although the documentation says you can copy Time Machine backups in the Finder, it's very slow and sometimes doesn't work at all.
This technique will only work if the volume you're copying to is the same size, or larger than, the one you're copying from.
First, open the Time Machine preference pane and click the Options button. You may have to unlock the settings first by clicking the padlock icon in the lower left corner of the window. Authenticate as an administrator.
Delete the volume you're going to copy from the list of backup destinations. Then turn Time Machine OFF.
Launch Disk Utility, open the built-in help, and search for the term "Duplicate." Follow the instructions. All existing data on the destination volume will be erased.
If the volume you're copying was encrypted by Time Machine, you may have to unlock it first. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar of the Disk Utility window.
Turn Time Machine back ON and select the new volume as a backup destination. You can also continue to use the old volume, if you wish. The two will be alternated when both are available.
CAUTION: If the volume you're copying is corrupt, as shown by Repair Disk or Verify Disk in Disk Utility, then that corruption will be copied to the new drive. Don't copy data from a corrupt volume on a malfunctioning drive. Put the drive aside and don't use it until you're sure you'll no longer need the data. Then securely erase it and take it to a recycling center. Do the same if the Restore operation fails with "disk errors."

  • HT3275 how do i delete old time machine back ups?

I just switched to a new MBP, and my external drive does not recognize it.  How do I delete old backups in order to make room on the external for the new computer's backups?
    Thank you.

You could click on the time capsule in the SHARED panel in Finder, then enter your data folder and delete the sparsebundles, but that will take some hours for the delete to finish with the millions of nodes.
You could also use the airport utility and click on the DISK tab, then do a quick erase.

  • How do I delete old Photo Booth effects?

I'm using a late 2011 MacBook Pro with Mavericks installed, I haven't used photobooth in a long time but upon recently opening it I decided that I wanted to delete the old third-party effects that I have installed as it sometimes slowed the application down. I tried my usual approach and went to the Library > Compositions but found nothing in there to delete. If anyone can help me out that would be great!

  • How do you delete old time machine back ups?

I have a 2009 iMac (currently on Snow Leopard) that has been using Time Machine (TM) to back up to a 2009 Time Capsule (TC) since new.  I have a 2011 Macbook Pro (currently on Snow Leopard soon to be Lion) that I would like to begin backing up using TM to the TC as well.  The problem is that I recently did one back up of the MBP to the TC and it used almost all of the remaining space on the TC.  Going forward the iMac has continued to back up to the TC creating space by deleting it's oldest back ups.  The MBP however says there is not enough space to back it up.  I am guessing that the TM for the MBP is unable to delete old back ups of the iMac to create space and since there is only 1 back up of the MBP it cannot delete that.
So... long story short is it okay for me to go into the TC to delete old back ups of the iMac manually and if it is how do I do that?
Thanks for your help in advance

Re: Can not delete sparsebundle backup
Nov 17, 2009 8:30 PM (in response to Ricardo Blach)
+What I really need is to delete the old sparsebundle from the TC. How can I do that?+
Open your Hard Drive and look for the Time Capsule icon under the SHARED heading. Click the TC icon and a folder will appear to the right. Double click this folder.
You should now see a xxxxx.sparsebundle file for each of the computers that have been backing up. The file contains the name of the computer and the MAC address so you should be able to easily identify the xxxxx.sparsebundle file that you want to delete.
Click the xxxxx.sparsebundle file to highlight it and then click the gear shaped icon just above and select Move to Trash.
Be very careful since you will not be able to retrieve the file if you make a mistake and delete the wrong file.

  • How do I remove old time machine backups?

Yesterday I learned that I had no more room in my external hard drive to back up my computer, so I moved old backups to trash. Computer won't let me delete them and I don't know how to put them back.
Has anyone faced this before? What should I do?

Hi. I read this very helpful....but I wish I had seen it before I put old backups into the trash.....can't explain exactly how or why but my computer crashed and when it came back to life the trash was emptied....but now I can't get time machine to work at all. I imagine I need to reconfigure my external hard drive.....any other ideas?

  • How to add swatch library to after effects cc?

as the title says…. how do i add a swatch library to after effects in creative cloud? i don't want to have to eye drop colors here and there, i want to keep a collection of my clients colorways. i saw the swatch script from video hive. is that good? does that only work with the said website? is there a way to customize color in that script?
    thank you in advanced!

The new Kuler integration (I just updated to 2014 today) is really useful but it's not quite what I'd hoped it would be. I use After Effects for vector animation and would find a swatches panel with Kuler built in - similar to that found in Illustrator - much more useful. Instead I'm having to position the Kuler panel in such a way that the colour scheme I want to use is visible so I can pick with the eye dropper, but I guess it's an upgrade from the print out of hexidecimals taped to my monitor!
I understand After Effects isn't really built like that, but it would make life so much easier if there was a swatch panel!

  • How can I remove old Time Machine back-ups for a Mac I no longer have??

So, i am trying to back-up a brand new MBPro to my Time Machine but it says there's not enough room. Only 13.5 GB avail and need 284 GB. Is there a way to go into Time Machine and delete all the old back-ups from my former MBPro? (I've already migrated all the files and data to the new MBP from my iMac, also on the same Time Machine.) If I could wipe out the old MBP back-ups that should create enough room.

    Delete the backups.
