How to add Business Objects to system landscape smsy?

Hi there,
at the moment I configure the system landscape (smsy) in our solution manager. We have also BO XI 3.1 installations and I like to add them to the landscape. In transaction smsy I'm going to "Landscape components" -> "Product System" -> "Create New Product System" .. But now I'm not sure about the product and the product version.
Any idea?

You may want to review SAP Note 1507629 Preparing a BOE system for Service Sessions in Sol. Manager
There are two PDF files EGI_SBOP_EWA_Part1.pdf and EGI_SBOP_EWA_Part2.pdf attached.
They show how to define the system in SMSY.
Additionally you will need Note 1357901 CA: Managed System Setup for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise
Because this is how the data will be collected.
And lastly once you have setup the managed system and setup the entries in SMSY, you then can create an EWA.

I HAVE A REQUIREMENT WORKING ON MM , I HAVE SOME BUSINESS RULES IN FUNCTIONAL DESIGN DOCUMENT AND I NEED TO WRITE THE TECH DESIGN . MY QUESTION IS HOW TO ADD BUSINESS RULES IN TECH SPEC. EXAMPLE I HAVE FINAL DUE DATE AS BUSINESS RULE i.e,

I have the data available for Final Due date from R3 .
So after creating the Info Object( characteristic), where can I add this formula for that Z INFO OBJECT ? I have total of 5 business rules like this in my funtional doc

Hi Harish,
With the assumptions:
1. You are using a BI 2004s system
2. The fields Baseline Date, Clearing Date & Maximum Day Term are being sourced from R/3
The rules can be coded into the End Routine in the Transformation.
If you are using a BW 3.x system, this logic can be coded in the Start Routine at the Transfer Rules or the Start Routine at the Update Rules.

I am new to Business Objects and would like to know how to access Business Objects Explorer from my local system. I have Business Objects XI 3.1 installed on my system.
I would like to know if BO explorer requires a separate installation package? If yes, how can I acquire it?
If No, what are the steps to integrate the BO Server with the BO explorer?

You can create New objects using the T.code: SE80.
You can make an object link to SAP objects that are not shown in the possible entries list. To do this, proceed as follows:
1. In the standard system, there are already two special screens for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 for the linked SAP object.
You must create two new screens with the same number for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140. The processing logic must follow that of screen 1204 in program SAPLVC130.
2. Create function module OBJECT_CHECK_XXXX (XXXX = object name) If the object can be classified, this function module already exists .
Otherwise copy the function module for linking equipment DOCUMENT_CHECK_EQUI and change it as required for the new object.

Hi Bhaskar,
For finding business object,you can try transaction SWO4 and by checking the documentation in it you can find your required business object.
Another method is:
1) Go to Trx SWE4 and switch on the event trace.
2) Run your transaction which you want to use for triggering your workflow.
3) Run transaction SWEL and find your Business Object and related event in it.
For connnecting your WF to your transaction you have to create a start event in your WF in SWDD,where in you specify the Business Object and start event which you find using above method.
Eg.You want your WF to be triggered whenever you have an error in your idoc.For this your BO will be IDOCAPPL and your event will be (inputErrorOccurred).This you will give in header data in SWDD.

maybe your business systems are already inside ID?
BTW
did you assign you business system to a correct
integration server? (when definig the business system)
also remember to refresh SLD data cache from ID
- environment
- clear SLD data cache

How to reference Business Objects Assembly in C#

For one of our project, we are creating BO Reports (as .REP, .PDF files) and it is automated one using macros. In macros, we are passing parameters to the report.
Now we need to reimplement the same in .NET.
We have installed Business Objects XI Release 2 and selected "Desktop Intelligence" in Client machine.
While trying to create a VS.NET Windows application, we didnt find any assemblies to add and we found COM dll named "Business Objects Library 11.5".
Now, are we referring the right assemby for developing the application? If no, then what is the exact assembly and where it can be downloaded.
Please provide us any samples/links on how to use the .REP file in .NET application.

How can I enable Business Objects inbox to receive report?
I can schedule or send report to a recipient without error, however, if I log into system as the receipient, I could not find the report in the inbox.
Any solutions?

The report is not sent because of missing rights on the report or the Inbox.
You can check this article to get minimum rights required to send to Inbox : 1612499 - What are the minimum rights required to be able to send a report object to another user's inbox on BI Launch Pad?

Hi Madhu,
Business Objects can be triggered via Work flow tasks. When ever you create a Purchase Order, check whether any standard event is getting triggered.
Now create a work flow task with the above task as starting event, and link your BOR object to this.
Or try to use the Function module SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT.

How to call business objects in BO part from a servlet in lean-webapp

for oci-implementation (and as it has been suggested here: http://scn.sap.com/thread/3340669) we want to implement a servlet that calls certain actions in a business object. The servlet resides inside the leanwebapp-DC. The business object is in the bo-part of our own custom module. Our problem is to find a way for the servlet to call the business logic. Our first thought was to go via the moduleAccess. However, we could not figure out how to access the module of the leanwebapp.
Any suggestions?

thank you very much for your quick and accurate answer.
After struggling a little bit with our project setup we implemented your solution and it worked immediately.
However, we now have the problem to declare the module dependency between the leanwebapp and the bo-part of our module. The Development-and-Extension-Guide for WCEM 3.0 tells us (page 39) to do this in the metadata.xml of the calling module (which would be the leanwebapp). Unfortunately, the leanwebapp does not have a metadata.xml.
Declaring the dependency in the .dcdef of the leanwebapp-DC leads to either:
a runtime exception while calling ModuleAccess moduleAccess = wecSession.getModuleAccess("oci"); in the servlet (com.sap.wec.tc.core.modulemgmt.metadata.exceptions.ModuleRuntimeException: Module access of module 'oci' cannot be created. It is not part of the current application.) or
a runtime time exception while accessing the servlet:
Caused by: com.sap.wec.tc.core.common.init.InitializeException: Error initializing 'com.sap.wec.tc.core.modulemgmt.metadata.ModuleMetaDataDeploymentModel' com.sap.wec.tc.core.modulemgmt.metadata.exceptions.ModuleRuntimeException: The deployment unit contains multiple JAR files or folders which declare the same part/namespace combination.
