How to add copyright metadata to my entire library?

Hi,
I'd like to select all the photos in my entire Aperture library and apply some metadata information to all of the photos. In the first instance this would be copyright information. I may also like to repeat the step for the author field or similar fields.
Is there a way I can apply this information without doing it one photo at time? I'm presuming there must be a simple way of bulk editing but can't work out how to do it.
Thanks...
Clown Guy

My suggestion (I'm not Léonie, sadly ),
But you can read my mind Thank for taking over while it is night in Germany.
My copyright metadata tags look very similar to this: I have a Metadata preset "Basic Info" with my copyright notice and I duplicate and modify it according to my current location:

  • How to add a radio station to the library

just loaded itunes 6 (windows box) and can't find out how to add a radio station to the library

If your current stations in WMP are .pls or .m3u URL's, they may work in iTunes also. Use the "Open Stream" command from the Advanced menu and put in the URL that includes .pls/.m3u. If the URL is a .mwv variety, those are Windows proprietary format and not supported by iTunes. Same with .ra streams (Real Audio).
.pls & .m3u usually indicate MP3 based streams supported in iTunes. It's up to the original radio station/streaming site to select the format and make it available. Shoutcast.com & Live365.com are great resources for mp3 based streams.

  • I'm trying to figure out how to add my music to my iTunes Library..?

I have an iPod Classic, almost full of music... I'm trying to figure out how to add my music to my iTunes Library (so I can then sync with my iPhone). When I try to sync, it gives me an alert: Are you sure you want to sync? All existing content will be removed and replaced with songs from your iTunes Library. How can I add my songs? I don't mind backing my files up and restoring my iPod, but I can't even find how to do that. Please help?! Thanks.

Are you using Mac or Windows?
With Mac you can click file on the top left, on the dropdown box 'Add to Library...'
With Windows you could have the folder with the music in open, and simply drag it into iTunes.
Or simply stick the CD into the computer and let it do it's work
If you want to backup, it should already do it for you, then once your iPod has been restored it lets you choose from the backups that iTunes has created. That's just me though it may not be the case for you.

  • LR 2.7, How to Edit Copyright Metadata at Export?

Attempted to edit metadata but my changes aren't saved...that's one issue.  So, I created a new metadata preset can't quite figure out how to select the new preset at export; I'm unable to change the metadata preset to the new one at export screen. Chasing my tail on this one. Any ideas about how to change the metadata used at export will be a big help, thanks.

I know it isn't answering the question but why not do it before export? G for grid view, Ctrl-A to highlight all, edit copyright metadata and press enter, wait for it to update, export.
I apply photographer info metadata, including copyright etc, at the import stage using a preset.

  • How to add xmp metadata to dae files

How to add metadatas to 3D dae files...?
The cad file used as an entry, the 2D files used as textures, environment, shaders...etc?

    Hi,
Yes sorry about the "Acrobat Tag" , the question was more for the CS6 suite, and the management of DAE files in Bridge and Photoshop Extended in a CQ5 DAM workspace.
But nevertheless, it should be cool if Acrobat X 3D could import directly Collada files...

  • HT5085 how to add previous libraries to my current library of Itunes purchased songs

I was able to recover some data from a Windows computer that completely crashed on me.  I now have a Mac.  I have downloaded all of my previous ITunes purchases, but I'm trying to reconstruct my entire library, even if I have to do it with ITunes Match.  I see a folder with "previous ITunes libraries."  How do I get these libraries (and hopefully my full song library integrated into current library?  Also, I probably have other backed up ITunes libraries that I can recover from an online back-up.  Is the procedure the same for those libraries also?  Thanks!

It’ll automatically be in the iCloud for the old Apple ID if it’s possible for that movie, but probably can’t be put into the iCloud for the new one without buying it again, and definitely can’t from your end; if you want to ask anyway, click here.

  • How to add old photos to iCloud Photo library

I want to put all my photos to one place, how to upload old Photos to iCloud Photo library, not making separate folder in iCloud what is not visible on iPhone Photo app.

As I understand it, you need to wait until the iCloud Photo app is launched next year.  I got round it a little by sharing some of my albums, but not to anybody in particular.  I can see these shared folders on my iPhone 5s, but they still don't show in iCloud.com>Photos.

  • How to add keyword metadata to elements after upload

    Hello,
I am adding fcp projects with all its linked media to our server...There can be hundreds of elements attached to the project file, is there a way to change the keyword metadata for a whole element group within a project? It seems that I can only add keywords one at a time which would end up being literally thousands of entries.
    anybody encounter this??
    thanks
    dan

There is a way to batch add metadata, but it isn't iTunes-easy and you need to be have admin rights on your FCSvr to do it. Also, this is a manual process after each set of assets exist. Anything more automatic would require custom scripting.
You can use the Search Expired response to batch other responses. Create a new Search Expired response and set it to use the Custom 1 event type. Set the Timestamp Field to "Creation Date". Leave the Expiry Days empty. Below that you can filter based on the usual options or leave them all open to hit all your assets (up to you).
Next, create a Set Asset Metadata response and populate it with the value you want to apply to your assets. Set this response to run by Subscription based on the Custom 1 event type.
Finally, schedule your Search Expired response to run. When it does, it will fire what amounts to a dummy event (Custom 1) on the filter it was set for, triggering the Subscription you set up to listen for that event type. That fires the Set Asset Metadata response, and now all your assets are tagged with the desired default in the new field.
The Custom event types are there for tethering a Search Expired response to a Subscription, so unless you know what you are doing, avoid the other event types on a Search Expired response.
The official documentation does not really explain this very well, but it does indeed work. Once you get the desired result, you can disable the schedule for the Search Expired response.

  • How to add new metadata to assets

    Hi all,
I  have added a new metadata property  following the instructions here:  http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/dam/managing_digitalassets.html .The metadata added will reflect in the DAM  ,but what i need is that the  metadata newly added  should restrict  only to  the images in  my folder(i.e it should not reflect in geometrixx site).how to  do this?
    Appreciate if anyone can help.
    Thanks

    Hi Yogesh ,
thanks for the reply..its a good start ..I have one more question regarding workflows.
Now, i have created  a page with DAM update asset workflow model.do you have any idea as where we can set the path in the workflow model so that the workflow will  execute only for that particular path or folder  and when we open the folder we get the metadata related only to that folder.
It would be grateful if someone can help
    Thanks!!

  • How to add a border to an entire Pages document?

I can't seem to find, anywhere, the option to add a nice looking border to my wedding maps. What's up?

    Peter;
I've been trying to put a border on a text box with no luck. In Inspector I select Text>Borders and Rules then I hit the 'add a border around the paragraph' button. All I get is a line above the paragraph, though if I then make the box big I do see a line below the paragraph but no side lines... at all. When I try with a shape box I have no problem putting a line/border around the box.

  • How to add lens metadata to existing DNG files?

I shot some images with a fully manual optic, so lens data was not embedded in RAW files, hence they are not existant in DRG files after conversion.
Is there a way to edit those DNG files in Lightroom so they would include lens name and focal lenght I manually enter?
    Regards,
    Romuald

    >That said, I would love a secret mode for this.
It's called a Text Editor and it doesn't even and to touch the raw file (i.e.  CR2, NEF, MRW, etc).  Save out the metadata to XMP sidecar, use search and replace to overwrite the lens info, then read the metadata back in Lightroom. Lightroom will use the edited metadata instead of the embedded EXIF data.  I've used this method for years. TextWrangler (Mac) or similar on Windows can run a search/replace on a batch of files (thousands if need be).
    For example:
    Find:
    24.0-70.0 mm
    replaced with
    EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM
You can't use above method on DNG directly. So, you create and edit the XMP sidecar before converting to DNG.  Either way you're leaving the original Makernotes intact and therefore running no risk of screwing the file.
At some point in the future it should be possible to skip above and write the lens data directly into the Lightroom database and back to the sidecar or DNG if required. Unfortunately, not this cycle.

  • How to add (move) file (song) to Media library without a copy being left behind?

A followup to my questions from yesterday. I seem to have fixed the database/folder issues. But here's the lingering problem:
For years, up until yesterday in fact, I had a standard, simple method of adding (non-itunes-purchased) files to my iTunes library. I had created a  folder out in the iTunes root folder named "NEW". I opened iTunes, went to File>Add File To Library, navigated to my NEW folder and added them from there.
When I did that, iTunes placed them and organized them into my library and removed them entirely from the NEW folder. That way I could glance at my NEW folder and see if I had anything to import.
NOW after some settings resets and a bunch of hassles in the past few days, suddenly when I add a file from NEW into the iTunes library, it is COPYING the file, not moving it. If I uncheck the "Copy..." box inside Preferences>Advanced all it does is POINT the osng at the one in the NEW folder without putting it in the iTunes library at all.
So my only options seem not to be "Copy" the file into iTunes (leaving behind the original which I have to manually delete)
    or
Not copy, where iTunes just uses the file in its location in the NEW folder which also doesn't help me.
How can I get back to having it move the file, and reorganize it into the library and not leave a copy behind?

If your "New" folder is inside the currently designated iTunes Media folder then when you add the files to iTunes they can be moved to their new locations without leaving copies behind. If the folder lives outside the iTunes Media folder and you have Copy to iTunes Media folder when adding to library selected then copies will be created. 'twas ever thus, so I suspect a chance change in the location of your "New" folder is responsible for the apparent change in behaviour.
If you leave Copy to... turned off then you can add in files from outside of the media folder and have them moved without leaving copies behind using the ConsolidateByMoving script as opposed to iTunes own "consoidate files" command, though I would think that working with "New" inside iTunes Media, or the Automatically add... folder is a lot less effort.

  • How to add backed up photos to iPhone library?

So I backed up my iPhone and had it replaced, and set this new iphone as a new phone. I have photos on here that I would like to keep; however, I really need to retrieve the photos from the previous backup! How do I do this without losing the photos already on this phone, and without syncing the entire thing (I don't want the apps)? Thanks.

Do you have a backup of your laptop? If not, I don't know where you would expect to get them from, unless you have a backup of your phone on your laptop from a time when the photos were still in the camera roll.
