I am a new mac user and I have just gotten a refurb ibook. It already has itunes on it, but I want to install iLife in order to use imovie. But when I use the install CD it says it can't because I already have a newer version of itunes running. I don't plan to use itunes so I don't care if my ilife is an older version. But I cannot find the way to delete the itunes already loaded so the ilife will install. I cannot find the equivilant of add/remove programs from Windows control panel. Can anyone please help? Obviously, I am FAR from being a computer whiz so any help is MUCH appreciated. Thanks

The other advice posted will help you understand how to install iTunes, but on a Mac, there is no add/remove control panel. The easiest way to get rid of iTunes: open your application folder and drag iTunes to the trash. You can also open the /user/music folder and drag the iTunes folder to the trash. This will get rid of all the music on the computer and the iTunes preference files.
After you install iLife, you can upgrade to the latest version of iTunes.
BTW, isn't there an option early in the iLife installation to choose which components you want to install? If so, just uncheck the iTunes option and install the other components.

Most apps may be simply deleted to the trash; all have a small file in ~/library/preferences associated to it, e.g. company.com.name-of-app.plist, may or may not be deleted. Some apps have their uninstaller, if their creator is scrupulous (some are not), if they spread files all over the system.
There are apps targeted at deleting other apps, I have been using AppZapper, but there are some other free solutions, see other comments. Do NOT delete Apple apps, they belong to the system, even if installed later.

Adobe flash does not work on bootcamp windows 2002 xp. down loaded to windows. works with Mac. No program folder for such. shows up in "add delete programs" (in setting) but without a file size. I have a MacBook Pro purchased new in June 2010.

Using bootcamp (windows 2002 xp) I down loaded adobe flash player from the windows platform. told me it installed successfully. however does not work in windows, does works in mac. in xp there is no created program folder for such or created short cut. In the control panel (xp) in add/delete programs it is listed but wihout any file size or frequency used. I've deleted & reinstalled numerous times. Mac OS is 10.6.8. Windows is 32 bit. Can't find a thing that discusses this. THANKS!

Just to build on what Martin said... It's really just the opposite of the Windows world. In the Windows world, you're told to always uninstall (not just delete the folder for the program) because when you install something in Windows it writes data all over the place. What you see as an application in OS X is actually a package... all the files you need for that application are in that package... you just don't ever see them. So, when you delete what just looks like a program icon, it's really getting rid of all the files associated with the program. As Martin mentioned, there are usually some preferences created when you install an application. These are just tiny text files, but in the interest of keeping things tidy, as mentioned, just use Spotlight to search for any lingering preference files. Just be sure the files are for the program you are deleting. You should also note that Spotlight will also show you programs that are in your trash. So, once you delete them, you will still see them... only they will now show up as being in your trash. Once you empty your trash, they'll be completely gone. You should be fine with just deleting the application icon for most programs... but some programs do come with un-installers (often relaunching the installer that you used to install the program will bring up an un-installer). Basically, if you just dragged the program to your applications folder to install it... just dragging it to the trash will get rid of it. If you actually got an installer come up when you installed the program, there is probably an uninstaller. There is no Add/Remove Programs in OS X like you have in Windows.

I am working on project and need some help on creating a form
my requirment is to save a request that has multiple questions.
i have a request form with multiple regions
On one of the region that takes questions, I want to create a tabular form such that i can add/delete/update row without hitting database and enter multiple questions
each row is one question.
Apex has the default functionality of having a tabular form linked to a table that onload shows the data from that table and also on click of add or delete hits the data base to save the data.
However i want to load a form that does not show any data if its a new request and click of add/delete should not update the databse. It should just add/delete a row on the form
so user logs in and can create a request that has multiple questions
finally want to submit the form and save all the information of the form in multiple tables.
As of now i a m able to have a simple form and a process that save 1 question per request.
How do i achieve this. Please assist.

You need to create ABAP program in which you check the values for required process chain in
following table
RSPCLOGCHAIN (Feilds ANALYZED_STATUS LOG_ID)
Depend on values you can trigger next process or you can wait unitil this process chain complete.you need to check status from table using ABAP.
If you are not aware about how to write ABAP program then take help from ABAP Team.

if you want to see the result it should run first.
after adding abap program to process chain, activate it.
now right click on process chain start --> display variant --> change selection.
check what is the start condition, if it is nto in immediate then comback
click on edit --> change selection
select immediate --> unchek the periodic values. and save. come back
again click on save. come back.
now schedule your process chain by clikc on clock symbol.
after successfull completion of your process chain you can check in SE16

This program will check the status of one another process chain 2 status ( whether it was completed or it is going on). if it is completed then continue the Process chain 1 to further activity else wait to complete Process chain 2 .
Here i have to use process chain 2 as a parameter.

I found one FM to change roles i.e BAPI_USER_LOCACTGROUPS_ASSIGN , In function module documentation said that it will overwrites all existing roles with the roles in the table parameter.I dont want to do that. I need a FM to add/delete role to CUA system. Please help me with your suggestions.

I am not aware of another BAPI based way to do it. You will need to get the details of the Roles AND manual profiles assigned, and then re-assign the new set in the call.
