How to add effects

Hi,
I need to know how to add effects. I am doing this, I hav 3
vbox and 2 hbox in run time if i need to bring the mouse over 1
vbox it need to come in the complete screen. Can any one send me
the code fot it.

How to add effects to Photo Booth?

Last night I was playing around in Quartz Composer and figured out, that you can use the iSight camera as an image input. I added some effects and my composition would make a nice video chat effect in Photo Booth.
But how can I add my .qtz movie to Photo Booth?
Dragging it to where you drag your custom backgrounds doesnt get me very far.
Somewhere must be a folder with all the effects used, or?
Any suggestions, experiences, thoughts are welcome,

Okay, I figured out how to get my clips running and how to name them.
Pretty cool so far.
My last question is: Where can I adjust how many effect pages will show up in Photo Booth?
Since my last "more Photo Booth effects" installation i have additional 3 pages of effects.
But when I add some of my effects, Photo Booth doesnt auto-add a 4th effect page. Instead of that the last effect (in alphabetical order) wont show up any more.
Anybody an idea?

I'm trying to install some effects in my PE9 for Mac, but i didnt find the folder to add this effects?
Where could I find it?

They go in <your hard drive>->Library->Application Support->Adobe->Photoshop Elements->9.0->Photo Creations->photo effects. After installing them, you need to delete mediaDatabase.db3, which is in Library->Application Support->Adobe->Photoshop Elements->9.0->Locale->en_US (or your location).
If you're using lion you will need to go to the Go menu>Computer to find the library folder.

FCPX has no audio tracks so how to add effects on voice over?

I imported my voice over track. Then, I proceeded to chop it up and move it to the appropiate points in the time line. However, now there are no "tracks" how can I EQ the whole thing in one go? All the individual choped up clips moved up and down willy-nilly into different empty areas of the time line.

I do VO work all the time, daily. Record it, make that a Connected Timeline (if it is not in the Primary Timeline already), then chop it up as you normally do, and then align it with the audio first. Then make it all a Compound Clip. Apply the EQ or whatever sweetening you need to the Compound Clip.

In GarageBand 10.0.2 you can no longer add all kinds of effects freely; this GarageBand '11 feature has been discontinued. Pick one of the predefined patches that already has the effects you want.
However, you can add effects from the predefined audio units.
You'll see the predefined effects on the track, when you open the Smart Controls. To add audio units, click the button and enlarge the the smart controls pane by dragging the dividing line to the Track Area upwards.

After completing the steps above, you will need to add an entry for the new swap volume to the /etc/vfstab as described in this doc if you want the swap volume to be used when the system is rebooted:

If it's someone else and that is real hair, then someone may have selected the hair in Photoshop and applied a tiny bit of the Oil Filter on it. The Oil Filter has been removed from the newest versions of Photoshop.

How do I add effects to lines?

I have a map of Manhattan that has been boiled down to just vector lines of the roads. I'm trying to add effects to the lines to kind of stylize the map. I'm trying to create effects similar to the this example that I found online. The photo below was probably NOT created in Illustrator.

If you are trying to get create the colored blurry brushstrokes, suggest you create that in phothsop.
Though only way to create this in Ilustrator wouinvolves using bitmapped effects (motion blur, watercolor), but your file would very slow in the end.
I would copy and paste your vector lines as a smart object into photoshop. In Photshop make paint in the color part (mixer brush may be good for this). Turn visibility off for your smart object layer, and place this into Illusutrator, set your black lines in Illustrator to overprint or multiply.
Might also look good if you bitmap the black lines in Photshop, for a more unform look to the softness of the illustration.

Hello All;
I need some help. My task sounds simple enough but not sure how to accomplish it.
I created the following path in Illustrator (See attached illustration - the top one). This is actually for a lower-third graphic.
I have been successful at importating that into .ai. Though should I be using a solid or a shape layer or doesn't it matter ?
I can add a stroke which affects the color and thickness of the outlines OK.
However, I can't figure out how to add either a gradient fill or one that is 50% transparent ? Can anyone help ?
Oh ... I'll mention I'm using After Effects CS3.

I've used Illustrator for quite a while both at home and at work but I really havn't had to do anything that complex yet. Same goes for Photoshop. I bought DVD tutorials for most of the productivity software I use and when you gave your first explanation, I watched the DVD tutorial on Importing into AE so I know what you're referring to when you say to import as composition. So far, I've only tried to import into AE by copying and pasting. I think that's why I just got the path and not the background. I'll try importing a composition shortly and see if I get the fill too. I actually found a tutorial on making the type of shape I need to in Photoshop so maybe I'll try that instead of Illustrator and then import that into AE.
Btw - It may not actually be a gradient fill I need to use but instead a solid fill with the top half lighter and buttom half darker.
