How to add individual keyboard layout under OS X 10.8.5

Using Ukulele I set up an individualised keyboard layout, saved it as a .bundle file and as described elsewhere added it to the Keyboard Layouts folder under Library in order to appear in my Input Sources list (Language & Text Preferences). However it does NOT. However often I add it to the folder and restart my system, no sign of it. Plus, in my system there is no Add button (little plus symbol at the bottom of the input languages' list) as described elsewhere. (see screenshot)
Any thoughts on how I might still be able to add my personal keyboard layout?

The "add" button is for 10.9, not 10.8.  You should see a checkbox for your layout in 10.8.  Be sure you scroll down through the entire list.  If really not there, try putting your bundle in Home/Library/Keyboard Layouts, or try putting in a .keylayout file instead of a bundle.  To get to Home/Library you hold down the option key while doing Finder > Go.

  • How to add a table layout in CRM Sales order?

    dear all ,
anyone know how to add a table layout in CRM sales order customer tab that using the EEWB added?
can EEWB do this?   i didn't find the appropriate business object......

    Hi , Swapna
is you mail address right? can not send out.
first , you should have added one field using EEWB ,  then to EEWB , find the extension , double click on the task, there  you will find a  "object list"  on the right, the list will give you many many very important  information , you should look through .
then double click on the "screen:  ..........EEW......." ,  layout , there you will find the field you have added in .  and you can draw anything you want there , then back to the screen flow , write you flow logic in PBO and PAI .
about the global  data definition,  again to the "object list", you will find a "Report source code:  ......................TOP". in there ,you can define all you data .
another thing  if you want to save your input field to database tables that you draw (not by EEWB added)
    two ways:
    1. write update table directly  in  PAI module .
    2.  you can use this BADI :  ORDER_SAVE , this is when you save the order to trigger the save action.

  • How to add my own Layouts

    Hi
Can anyone tell me where/how to add my own layouts so they
are available in the New File dialogue?
I'm on CS3 by the way. I'm sure I managed this way back in MX

The 32 predefined CSS layouts in CS3 are stored in C:\Program
    Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver
    CS3\configuration\BuiltIn\Layouts.
However, I have no idea how you list your own layouts in the
    New
    Document dialog box.

  • How to add welsh keyboard to my iphone?

Its easy to change the basic languages like English, Chinese, or other similar languages.
But how can i find Welsh to add to my keyboard?

It's not possible to add keyboards to iOS devices yet, but you can ask Apple for this feature via
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
In the meantime, search the app store for "welsh" to see if someone has made a keyboard app for that language that might be useful for some purposes.  Some apps like Unicode Pad and Unikey let you create a sort of custom keyboard which lets you create text for copy/paste, etc.
One way would be to use a wireless keyboard with the iphone.  There you can select the US Extended keyboard layout which lets you type the extra characters required, â, ê, î, ô, û, ŵ, ŷ and any other accents.
Even with the English screen keyboard,  all but the last two are already available by just holding down the key for the base letter.  You could create keyboard shortcuts for the two remaining special characters, ŵ, ŷ,  in settings > general > keyboard > shortcuts.
Display of Welsh is no problem, and you can have a Welsh calendar via the Region Format settings.

  • How to Make a Keyboard Layout for X11/OpenOffice

While OpenOffice has a setting to use standard OS X keyboard layouts, you may find that some of these do not work correctly, especially if deadkeys are involved. In that case you will need to create a new layout in the form of a keymap file, which you place in your home folder and invoke when needed via the command "xmodmap mykeymap" in an xterm (or by putting the same line in some config file).
You keymap file should just contain the minimum necessary modifications of the default X11 map, which you can see by doing the command "xmodmap -pke | less" in an xterm (after making sure the preference item for using OS X layouts is turned off).
Some fiddling with the entries of your file may be necessary, as both X11 and apps that use it have quirks and bugs of various sorts. Below is the file I made to do Vietnamese in OpenOffice as an example:
    keycode 26 = abreve
    keycode 27 = 0x00E2
    keycode 28 = 0x00EA
    keycode 29 = 0x00F4
    keycode 30 = dead_hook
    keycode 31 = dead_grave
    keycode 33 = dead_belowdot
    keycode 34 = dead_tilde
    keycode 36 = dead_acute
    keycode 37 = U0111
    keycode 38 = U01A1
    keycode 41 = U01B0

This is a feature Apple should definitely add customization to on OS X.
You can make custom keyboard layouts that include any characters you want using Ukelele.
    http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?siteid=nrsi&itemid=ukelele
I doubt Apple is going to incorporate this into OS X, but you can suggest it here:

  • How to set custom keyboard layout as default?

I've downloaded a german keyboard layout for normal PC keyboards from this page: http://www.nullpointer.de/stuff/keylayout/index.de.
Everything works fine. The layout is showing up in "Input Sources".
But for some reason I cannot uncheck the default "Apple German Keyboard Layout" as you can see in this screenshot:
The TickBox next to it is disabled...
This leads to the problem that in some applications that layout is being used (switched to) automatically instead of keeping the new one...
How do I set a custom keyboard layout as default and/or deactivate built-in one?
    Thanks in advance!
    MemphiZ

This has come up before, and I think it is not possible.  The OS always keeps one of its own Latin keyboards active, and unfortunately I have not seen any way that these (located in system/library/keyboard layouts/applekeyboardlayouts.bundle) can be modified by the user.
PS Another possible source for "PC" layouts for people using that kind of hardware instead of Apple keyboards is the set of Logitech layouts provided when you download Ukelele.

  • How come my custom keyboard layout won't work in Pages?

    Greetings.
I have created a custom keyboard layout through the program Ukelele. When I had saved it and selected it as the current keyboard layout, I begin to type and it types as if the keyboard layout were the default US. I changed the font thinking some of the characters must not show up in some of the fonts, nothing; still typing in a default US format. I then went to TextEdit and it worked perfectly fine. It acknowledged the custom keyboard layout I was using. :
My question(s) is(are): How come in TextEdit my custom keyboard layout can work, but in Pages it doesn't? Is there something I need to change for Pages to start using my custom keyboard layout?
    - With regards:
    OSxOS (T. Levi Drayton)
System Info: MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), Pages (5.5.2)

Thanks for sending the layout.  It installed properly in Home/Library/Keyboard Layouts and I was able to select its (generic) icon in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen, and it worked fine in Pages 4 and Pages 5.

  • Keeping per window keyboard layout under X11

Sometimes you want to setup switching keyboard layouts using only X server - because there is no DE, or no DE keyboard plugin, or it's broken, or lacks needed functionality. You can easily configure X server to switch keyboard layouts, but I could not find way of keeping layout for each window separately using only X server. Hence this package: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=54504
    Tested under xfce4.
    Example of usage (~/.xinitrc file)
    #!/bin/sh
    if [ -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d ]; then
    for f in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/*; do
    [ -x "$f" ] && . "$f"
    done
    unset f
    fi
    export LANG=ru_RU.utf8
    setxkbmap -layout 'us,ru(winkeys)' -model pc105 -option grp:rwin_toggle,grp_led:num
    perWindowLayoutD
    exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch startxfce4

I've just installed openbox 3.5.0-4 and tried switching layouts. Alt+Tab works well for me - layout does change when changing windows. But there is another problem: if I close some window and focus goes to another window, layout isn't restored for this new focused window. Going to fix that.
As for Alt+Tab openbox, I cannot reproduce any problem. Could you please be more specific, what the problem you see?

  • How to setup german keyboard layout?

I am currently working on a german layout.
If I click on the keyboard indicator on the toolbar there are a couple of already existing keyboard layouts (beside english) but not german.
So how can I install german keyboard layout on an existing Solaris 10 or OpenSolaris 2009.06 machine?
    Peter

It is a known bug on the Asus Transformer. Firefox works fine with it as a tablet. Though we still have some issues to sort out with the hardware keyboard. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=669361

  • Keyboard layout under Remote Desktop Connections (US-International)

    Hi,
I'm using Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection on Mavericks 10.9.3 to connect to a Windows 7 machine using the US-International Keyboard layout, but some keys don't seem to work (quote, double quote, ~, etc.) The Mavericks machine is set up as Language English / Region UK / Input Source US International - PC. The Windows 7 with Language English (UK) / Keyboard US International.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Luiz
P.S.: A similar question has been raised for Mountain Lion a couple of years ago, but the solution provided was to use an external software that is not compatible with Mavericks

Even though it works under Lion, I never tried it under ML, Microsoft states
Note  Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac (version 2.1.1) is not intended for use with Mac OS X v10.7 (Lion) or later.
So I dropped it and now I am using CoRD.

  • HT1492 Does anyone knows how to change the keyboard layout in single user mode, please ?

    Hello,
The question is in the title.
    Thank you.

The only way you might do it is use one of the Unix editors to edit the plist file it gets the settings from once it boots in the GUI mode.  'vi' is present in all Macs, and you might have pico, nano, emacs, or ed depending on what was installed. The keyboard layout while in single user mode itself I think is generic to where the Mac was bought and what keyboard was ordered with it, when it came from the store.  Since you posted in the 10.3 or earlier forum, chances are if this has changed, few people would know for certain.  If you have a newer Mac, say 2006 or later, you should really post in the correct forum:

  • How to add Multimedia Keyboard Shortcuts

    Brand new to mac/apple...

    f0rgiven wrote:

Go to the system preference mentioned in my earlier post & follow the instructions it provides to try to assign an application-specific shortcut to one of the "extra" keys (which will require one of modifier keys to be pressed along with it). If it recognizes the key, you will see some symbol for it in the second box, along with one for the modifier key. (The modifier keys are the shift, option, etc. keys that don't do anything by themselves).
You might also check Logictech's website for software that supports the keyboard with OS X.
