Go to KSu2 and give the cycle name ad select the segment that you need to add cost center.
If you are deal with cost cneter groups add new cost center to your cost center group KSH2.

hi Anil,
Check your settings in the Transaction code OKB9. In this transaction, default cost centers are maintained for each Company Code and Cost element.
Else you have defined default cost centers in your Cost Element. In such Case, use t-code KA02 and change the cost Center
If you satisfied with the reply then plese assign points.

How to use new cost center field, new profit center field, new account field?

As I create a new change request of adding new GL account, or that of new cost center, or that of new profit center, I normally enter the new GL code GL01, or new cost center CC01 or profit center code PC01 in "General Data" section on the change requst screen, these codes (GL01, CC01, PC01) are landed in ECC upon data replication.
I do see there is another field called "New Account" of GL change request, or "New Cost Center" of CC change request, or "New Profit Center" of PC change requst all of which is under "Administrative Data" section. I have never used it. but I was wondering what the purpose it will serve and how should I use them.

How to find the cost center group from cycle/ segment in CO module?

Hi All,
I need to fetch the list of cost centers in the cost center group against the cycle.
Is there any table which will store the list of cost centers against the cycle?
or else, what I was thinking is use of BAPI BAPI_COSTCENTERGROUP_GETDETAIL, which will give me the list of cost centers,
but we need to pass the controlling area + cost center grp to fetch the cost centers from BAPI, I have controlling area with me but not the cost center grp name, only I have Cycle info lke cycle name, segment name, seq number. so how to find the cost center grp name from the cycle name?

I would like to insert new cost center for the existing layout in BCS

I would like to add cost center to existing layout.
Currently we are loading data into BCS using flat file .
In BCS we have current layout existed with below format.
Header
Controlling area
Fiscal year
Posting period
Data Rows
Company
Item
Profit Center
Functional area
Trading partner
Period Value LC
Period Value GC
Even we are getting flat file from R/3 as above format.
Now our Business required cost center in BCS as their requirment and need to be bring from R/3 to BCS.
In R/3 our ABAP people are working to bring the cost center from R/3 and made a flat file for us.
In BCS we need to load the file which has new cost center,which was comming as per the new requirment.
Please advise me how to add cost center in Data Rows of BCS.So that it can accomidate new cost center which is comming from R/3.
Please some advise me on this and answer would be appreated.

I knew how to add char to cube in BW.But i am not sure about BCS .
- What's the difference in assigning the infoobject (CostCenter) to the infocube, doesn't matter if it's the basic (ordinary) or the BCS totals cube?
I will follow as you said.
- Taking the BW310 or SEM240 is very useful.
Once it is done then what are the next steps need to do it.

How to add new row in KL02 trx - Activity type control data

Hi guys.
I am not a FI-CO consultant, but I want to add a row since KL02 transaction within a cost center, with a new fiscal year. When you access KL02 (change activity type), you set the activity type, then press Master Data and the basic screen appears. If you press the Display planning control button, you will see the "Display Activity Type Control Data" List. I wanna add a row for a specific cost center here, because the cost center I refer has not 2011 as fiscal year. I tried to use, since basic screen of KL02, use the Change planning control button, but when I set my cost center and 2011 as fiscal year, the Save button is inactive. Furthermore, I tried to press the Period screen and a message appeared "No data has been entered yet". So I dont know how to add one row for a cost center in the Planning control (Activity type control data) list of the KL02 transaction, specifically for an activity type. Do you know? Give version - 0
from period 1 to 12

cost center - mention the cost center

The list of cost centers in which the activity type is planned is given in KL02 under planning data. In order to add a new cost center to this, you need to enter the activity type in transaction KP26 for a particular year.
Goto transaction KP26
Give version - 0
from period 1 to 12
year - 2011
cost center - mention the cost center
Activity type - mention activity type
goto overview screen F5 and add the plan price for the activity in the cost center. This step will automatically add new row in the activity type control data.

Functional Area derivation as obligatory checkbox in Cost Center distribution cycle?

Dear All,
We are using Cost of Sales accounting with FI-CO online integration. Derivation of Functional Area for Cost Center assessment cycles is an obligatory indicator. Nevertheless I may create Cos Center distribution cycles without this option (what affects FI-CO online integration). Can anybody explain a system logic behind it?
Can I set Functional Area derivation as an obligatory checkbox for Cost Center distribution cycles too?

Hi,
I have searched for any useful note, but without result so far. The point is that any new distribution or assessment cycle (cost centers) in our company must work with Functional Area derivation (than FI-CO online integration works correctly). With our current SAP setup I must select this indicator for every assessment cycle - it is obligatory. But is not obligatory for distribution cycles - and I don't know why?
I would like to protect everybody from crating distribution cycles without FA derivation indicator (like it works now for assessment cycles). How may I do it?

Actually the cost center is being changed from Aug onwards ,so the Depn posted to the old cost center for July needs to be reposted to the new cost center using KB61 taking the reference of accounting doc from KSB1 for the old cost center.
But when i am using KB61 to repost the depn , system gives the error message " Transaction Repost CO Line item has been locked"
ie July period is already closed.
I do not have the authority to open the closed periods and repost. Is there is any other way?
Also, once the reposting is done, Cost center can be changed for the assets thru AS02 so that system automatically posts the accumulated depn to the new cost center

How to add new slides in iAD Producer?

I am trying to producer a new slide where I can write text in iAD.
I have problems with it though and can you please tell me how to add new slides, where I can either write text or add new objects or assets?
Also when I try to use the CAROUSEL, I can only put it there, but once I put the asset image on it, it doesnt work - I can't place the image in the center of each boxe and it doesn't go full screen once I click on on it through my iPod Touch (5th Generation).
Please answer me those questions and I would be very happy indeed!

How to delete a cost center hierarchy

Hi all,
We are having a issue regarding the cost centers. The cost centers have been assigned wrong cost center numbers. Now the client wants a set of new cost center numbers to be used in the system. In order for that to be done I thought may be if I can change the cost center hierarchy that has been assigned to the controlling area in OKKP transaction we can assign new cost centers to the new hierarchy and solve the problem.
But the system does not allow us to assign a different cost center hierarchy from the already existing one when cost centers are assigned to it.
My issue is how to delete the cost center hierarchy.
If that is not possible how can we remove the cost centers assigned to the cost center hierarchy ( is this possible)
Last question can we delete the transaction data posted to cost centers.
Points will be assigned to all the replies.

Hello Sarada,
If the requirement is to track new cost centers only going forward, then you may need to create new Cost Centers, block old cost centers. Create a new node in the hierarchy saying "Old-do not use".
If the requirement is to have the history transactions reflect the new cost centers as well, then you will need to undertake a project for SLO (System Landscape Optimization) which will replace this data at table level. This is a major project in itself and the programs are proprietary to SAP.

in the maintain master data screen for cost center give all the attributes a restriction to initial value.
once you get cost centers search with them in the infocube and take out final list from there.
or you write a abap report to check cost centers which have all fields initial and get it in a file.

Hi,
In addition to the above post, you need to identify that:
1. Whether you need separate activity types and cost center for the newly created work center. These details are entered in the Costing View of the Work Center.
If these are required then use KL01 to create new activity, KP26 to define the activity price.
If required create cost element using T Code KA01 and Cost Center using KS01.
Take help from the CO guy on this.
2. Also you need to ask the concerned about the operating times for the wor center. That is Start time and End time of WC. It is used for capacity evaluation and scheduling of the orders. It is maintained in the capacity view (Bottom left Button in the view).
this view will also contain the details regarding the calendar, to be assigned to the work center, if needed. Collect details for this requirement. Also you can assign a different calendar to WC apart from factory calendar.
3. Find out whether this WC will be operating in shifts or not. Accordingly maintain the details.

New Cost Center trigger

I need sample code to implement a trigger so that when a new cost center (dept) value to the accounting flexfield is added, then it fires off and creates the corresponding row in the fnd_shorthand_flex_aliases table

Hi All,
I create a trigger to insert data into the fnd_shorthand_flex_aliases table, if a new flex_value is created in the fnd_flex_values and fnd_flex_values_tl.
However, I am getting the error:
ORA-04091: table fnd_flex_values is mutating, trigger/function may not see it.
More than likely it is due to the fact that I am trying to query the table fnd_flex_values to insert into the fnd_shorthand_flex_aliases table, while inserting into it at the same time.
Does any one know how to get around this?
