How to add password to nokia 5230 mobile?

Hello,
I have recently bought my nokia 5230. But i dont know how to make my mobile password protected, without using any external software.
Please provide me the steps the do it.

Menu-->Settings-->Phone-->Phone Management-->Security-->Phone and SIM Card-->and set the LOCK CODE...
Default lock code is 12345.
Note that if you forget the Code then you will have to get it reset to the default code ONLY at Nokia Care..and there will be charges incurred for the service. You also tend to lose all your data during this Reset..so keep regular back-ups..

It may be worth you trying a soft reset to make sure it isn't something within your settings.
Soft Reset - this will not delete and data off your device.
Enter *#7780# into your phone's keypad and when prompted, enter 12345 (default code)
If there are not too much data on your device and you have made a backup, you can go for the hard reset option below.
Hard Reset - this will wipe all data off your device, so a backup is recommeded before doing this.
Enter *#7370# into your phone's keypad and when prompted, enter 12345 (default code)

Adobe PDF pack- Annual: How to add password protection to my documents now?

I purchased the paid PDF product in order to add password protection to existing PDFs or docx, but I still don't see an option for how to add it. I tried creating Docx and then creating PDF- but never got the option to add a password or security of any kind.

This kind of operation can't be done in Acrobat. You'll need some stand-alone tool, or maybe a plugin, to do it.

It is governed by iOS. And the password is saved in the keychain database encrypted with the hardware key of the mobile device

Image open problem in nokia 5230

I have nokia 5230 mobile & i am using from last 10 months but from past few days i am facing problem regarding image/songs open problem. whenever i trying to open image my phone gets hang & it shows nothing in it but i have 100 pics in memory card, same problem is with songs whenever i put some songs in memry card but songs gallery after refreshing shows nothing.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

im not sure what to do about the images but the same happened with the songs. here is waht i did:
1. make sure you have the latest firmware installed (fw. 50).
2. when it is installed copy all tracks to pc and install nokia ovi music.
3. delete the folder called 'music' on your memory card.
4. open ovi music and add songs to playlists and copy to device. this will create a new folfre called 'music' and the error should be fixed
if that fails you should try a program called lcg jukebox as this is a much better music player

Car charger for Nokia 5230

I have nokia 5230 mobile purchased recently.
Currently i have car charger (chineese make); i have measured voltage out of chineese charger to be 6V. but not connected to nokia 5230.
Is it safe and legal to use above chineese charger .
Or i should buy DC-4 charger. But i guess it gives out 5.7 volts.
Is it safe ? or extra 0.3 volts makes a difference

You would have to get into the VBA programming in order to do
this. Why don't you just have a login function for the page with

I would like to be able to connect my mobile (Nokia 5230) to internet without using the GPRS connection.
The only option I can see, is to connect my mobile to my PC (which has an internet connection) via bluetooth or USB and share the pc internet connection with my mobile.
How can I do that?
I would like to use OVI store but the only option is "Send to Mobile" It seems that it is not possible to download a file on the PC and then send it to the mobile . If I coudl share my PC internet connection with my mobile I will be in a position where I could use OVI store

What you're asking is not possible. There was a piece of software called GNUBox that might have done the trick but it seems to be more or less abandoned.

Nokia 5230 - how to make bigger clock ?

I bought Nokia 5230 - it has S60 v5 system. I can not find how to make clock bigger than it is now. See the following picture (the right one) http://www.pizero .net/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/redhz49.jpg - I think, that it is possible.
In the middle of the screen, I have "Add contact" icon. I want to replace it with bigger clock. How can I do that ?

Nokia 5230 and Garmin Mobile XT

Hi !
I have decided to install Garmin Mobile on my Nokia 5230. I have asked the official Garmin support for informations about Garmin Mobile and Symbiaa S60 v5. They answered that the last version of Garmin Mobile is v5.00.60 and in theory it should almost certain work with S60v5 operating system (the version v5.00.50 should too), but the product is discontinued so they are not 100% sure. They sent me a list where I can still buy Garmin Mobile but I am not sure to spend 100€ because I'm not totaly sure if this will work with Nokia 5230. There's lots of info about Garmin v5.00.40 and v5.00.50 working on Nokia 5800 but no info about Nokia 5230.
Is there any Nokia 5230 user on this forum with Garmin Mobile installed? If yes which version of Garmin Mobile do you have?
