How to add query to a role

Hi!
I created query in Bex Query Designer.
I have to add this query to a Role Menu(query is implemented in BEx Web, I don't want to use WAD, Analyzer or Report Designer)
which option i have to select in PFCG?

Hi,
In the Query Designer tool bar, you will see Create, Open, save, save as, delete and Publlish Icon.Next to the publish Icon, you will see downward arrow. If you click that, then it will show Publish in Role, Publish in portal/.If you click 'publish In Portal' then it will show you roles available and choose the role and save it.
Or else you can even do in PFCG.
Assign Points if this solves your problem.

you can try,
in PFCG, click '+other', choose 'bw query url', in next screen give description for text and object description =
<bsp_protcl>://<bsp_server>/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=<language>&bsplanguage=EN&cmd=ldoc&INFOCUBE=infocubename&QUERY=querytechnicalname
or open Query Designer, find your query,
before open the query click button Enter in Role.
select role/folder in which you want to put the query

Use Tcode PFCG and there you can delete th query from the role. Then the query gets deleted only from that role view. Then you can assign it to the new role.

Hi,
I configured the critical roles & profiles in rule architect.
But when I schedule the background job for batch risk analysis, it is taking all the users, roles & profiles.
Is there a way to exclude users, roles & profiles? (I have already configured the excluded users, roles and profiles in exclude option), but still when I schedule the background job and say show parameter, it shows the User Range as '*'. It is not showing the excluded users.
Can you please update how to exclude the list of users, from the batch risk analysis?

I see it! I'm running ECC 6.0.
PFCG->Menu->Other->BSP Application (3rd Selection) from the top.
Click on the search on the "Other" menu and search for BSP if you are having problems seeing it.

How to add Reports to existing Role (Urgent).

Hi Experts,
I am working in BI7.0 and there are no workbooks in our project.
There is a Role with two reports. The Role has some users assigned to it.
One of the Users wants to access two additional reports.
How should I add those extra two reports to this Role on BW side? Do I have to do something like Publish to Role on the Query side in BEx Analyzer (Query Design Mode)...???

if this two reports are new workbooks, then run the query and save the workbooks directly in the role. if you dont have access to this role then save it in developer role and ask security team to add them in the user role.
if this report /workbooks exist in the system and you dont have access to this roles, then you need to ask secuirty team directly to add them in the user role. ( give them the role in which this workbooks exist and the target role where he need to add , and give them the transport number ) they will add the role and workbooks in the transpot and give it to you.

How to add infotype to a role

I am tring to create a link for Infotype 376 on ESS benefits page. I understand i need to add this Infotype to the ESS role in R/3 through PFCG.
Is this the correct way? If yes, please let me know how do I add the IT to the role?

In case of business package or content related to any thing to R/3 every authorization has to be at backend and authentication to be in portal.In this case you add the infotype at backend and migrate the role ESS to portal but infotype system (BW)has to be single sign on with portal or user mapped and user must have authorization there.hope this helps you please do not forget to give points

After running the query in query designer(in excel spread sheet), I am able to see two functionalities of a field ,"Properties" and "Query properties" if right click the mouse of a field.
But after running the query in WAD(Web Application Designer), I am not able to see the functionality "Query properties" if right click the mouse of a field. But I could see "Properties". Please help me how to add "Query properties" in WAD template.

How to use Add Query Criteria for the MySQL data Base in Netbeans Visual web pack.
When the Query Criteria is add like

when i run this Query in the Query Window
i get a error message Box saying
Query Processing Error Parameter metadata not available for the given statement
if i run the Query with out Query Criteria its working fine.

Also when I tried to update my MYSQL connector / J driver to version 5.1.5 from 5.0.5 (NB 5.5.1) and 5.0.7 (NB 6.1), I could not get it work (looooong time to search some JDBC classes and with no response in the end) on both of my Netbean 5.5.1(on PC) and Netbean 6.1(on laptop) IDEs.
Could anybody look into this issue.

We are starting to look at the new analyzer. We cannot find how to Enter a query in a role. In the old analyzer there was a button called this. Where is it in the new analyzer? How to you enter and assign a query to a role?

We have a new concept of authorization where you are no more suppose to assign the query to the role from business explorer.
I am not sure if you have gone through this but see this link a it explains about the new authorization concept that is analysys authorization.

Now we have to create authorization object and use existing SAP autorization objects to assign authorizations...

How to add multiple users (say 1000) to a role in ECC 6.0?

Hi
You can actually add multiple users to a role using transaction SU01. From SU01, use the menu Environment->Mass Changes.
Here you can manually add the users, select them by address or authorisation data. Once you have your user list, you can then add or remove roles and/or profiles.
Secondly , You can use SU10 to do mass changes to multiple users including role assignments per logical systems

How to add an Infotype (Ex. 0025) to an exsting Infoset (ad hoc query)?
I was trying by clicking on 'Extras' tab & create...I get three options, create field, create table or create structure.
I am not sure which to use or is there any other way? Pls. let me know the steps...
Also what is this 'Package', which is aked whenever you create or change an Infoset.

I was able to add the infotype by adding the table as PA0025 & include all the fields in the field group.
When I check, I get the following error:

Can any one tell me how to add new fields in the ABAP query output?
We have to add the new fields using query design or we have
to add those in the background program(automatically generated behind query) by selecting new fields in the code?

What kind of report? Usually, you have to add the field in the table declaration and then also in the SQL query. After that, include the field in what kind of report you are using.
