How to add varnish to an image

HOw do i add varnish to an image i want to print?

Draw the shape of the area you want to varnish.
Colour it with a spot colour. Any faint colour will do. Name the spot colour ‘Varnish’ or something else appropriate.
Put the shape onto a top layer and set the colour to Overprint (in Attributes).
View the file with Overprint Preview turned on. The varnished area will probably look slightly tinged with the colour you chose, but don’t worry about that.
Check Separation Preview to make sure that your varnish is definitely in its own separation.
Remember that you should be thinking in inks rather than just judging what you see on your monitor.
Talk to your printer to make sure that he prints your Varnish separation with actual varnish and not with some silly colour.

    Here's a little video from Adobe TV that shows you how to create borders in Photoshop Elements. If you don't have Photoshop Elements, skip the first 1:25 of the video, the rest of the steps apply to Photoshop as well:

  • How to add byte[] array based Image to the SQL Server without using parameter

    how to add byte[] array based Image to the SQL Server without using parameter.I have a column in table with the type image in sql and i want to add image array to the sql image column like below:
    I want to add image (RESIM) to the procedur like shown above but sql accepts byte[] RESIMI like System.Drowing. I whant that  sql accepts byte [] array like sql  image type
    not using cmd.ParametersAdd() method
    here is Isle() method content

    SQL Server binary constants use a hexadecimal format:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms179899.aspx
    You'll have to build that string from a byte array yourself:
    byte[] bytes = ...
    StringBuilder builder = new StringBuilder("0x", 2 + bytes.Length * 2);
    foreach (var b in bytes)
    builder.Append(b.ToString("X2"));
    string binhex = builder.ToString();
    That said, what you're trying to do - not using parameters - is the wrong thing to do. Not only it is insecure due to the risk of SQL injection but in the case of binary data is also inefficient since these hex strings are larger than the original byte[]
    data.

    Take a look at the link shown below where drawing is done on a JButton -- you can draw your image on a JLabel too.

    By drawing on a JLabel or JButton, you can add tooltiptext when needed.

  • How to add a photo filter image adjustment layer?

    In this tutorial at the last step it says to add a photo filter image adjustment layer on the image to give it a warm finish, I can't see any adjustment palette as shown in image.  I use a CS3 Extended.

    Wow, again I stand corrected.
    I have a perceptual "blind spot" when it comes to finding textual entries in lists.  It's a "hidden in plain sight" kind of quirk that I normally work around either by being diligent or finding another way (e.g., pressing the button I highlighted above).  I'm sure magicians and people who design camouflage would understand it.
    I actually looked in both Photoshop CS5 and CS3 and didn't perceive that entry before I wrote my post above.  I probably looked right at it but didn't sense it was there.  I was even thinking of writing up a bug report.  Now, of course, since you've pointed it out, I go back and look again in my copies of Photoshop and I do see it.  It's a bit of a scary realization, as I have to wonder what else in life I've missed because of this.  I'm reminded mildly of the scene in the old film "The Andromeda Strain" where the lab worker sees a flashing red "NO GROWTH" indicator but doesn't take action on it because of an epileptic block.
    Thanks again for setting me straight MTSTUNER.  I continue to learn a lot from you.

  • How to add metadata to multiple images via Template

    Hi
    Wonder if anyone can tell me if it is possible to add Metadata to multiple images using a metadata template.  I see that I can add to multiple using Organizer but with that you have to type in the metadata.  In Elements 11 I can do it using a template but only for 1 image at a time.
    Is there a way to do this in Elements 11 or Organizer?
    Thanks in Advance.

    In the File properties dialog of the editor you can enter your values in the metadata tabs, then use the 'Import' button on the bottom of the dialog, switch to 'Export' and that exports your values as a template.
    As far as I know, this is to be used in the advanced dialog of the downloader : you can use your templates at import time for a batch of images.
    Otherwise, when you have selected many images in the organizer, you can click on the 'Add IPTC data' button in the tags panel on the right side : you have to enter the data which will be applied to all the selected files.

  • How to add a border around images posted to Facebook?

    I am using LR 4.1, also usis PS CS5.
    Anyone who uses Facebook to showcase image galleries knows that Facebook changes how images are displayed from time to time.  One month it will be on a black background and the next on a white background.  And then they put overlay's on top of your images and they change things around whenever they wish.  There is not rock solid consistency from Facebook on how they display your images across devices or over time.
    What I am trying to do is to add some consistency to how my images are displayed by adding my own border to my images.  I need some ideas on how to best do this.  The way that I have been doing it does not appear to be ideal and I think someone must have a better way.
    Ideally, I would want Lightroom to add a border for me based on some setting under the export manager.  But as far I know there is no setting to do this?  (Why doesn't lightroom have any border options anywhere yet for anything it exports?  This would be relatively simple I think.)
    Here is the only way I know how to solve my issue.
    First, my other considerations:
    I want to keep my original images in my catalog in tact and as is w/o a border and with layers if it is a .psd file.  I do NOT want to destructively add a border to the catalog images, only the images that end up on Facebook.  I also want to add my watermark image to the final image so that it is done as the last step so that the bottom part of my watermark shows my web site address over the white border on the bottom of the image.  Using a droplet and the watermark in the same step does not work properly because it applies the watermark before it runs the action, not after.
    I have created an action to add a x pixel white border by:
    Merging (flatten) all layers
    Creating a new unlocked background "image" layer
    Expanding the canvas by x pixels.
    Creating a new white filled layer and moving it to the bottom of the layer's pallet.
    Adding a 2 pixel black inside stroke to my image layer and adding a drop shadow.
    I created a droplet from this action and put it in the droplet folder for LR.
    Now for the repeated steps that I am going through...
    Select the images that I want to write to Facebook.
    Export these images to a new folder using the droplet.
    Import the folder of all of these images back into Lightroom.
    Move the new images with borders on them into the correct LR FB publish service.
    Publish the photos using the sharpening and watermark settings.
    Delete the .psd files created in Step #2
    The steps that I would like to avoid are #2, #3, #6
    Or maybe I am going about this all wrong?  Anybody have any better ideas?

    You may find it much easier to use the Migrify plug-in from Tim Armes/Photographers Toolbox which does what you want from within Lr.

  • How to add a live webcam image in OWC?

    Hi All:
    We have a customer who wants to use iLearning with collabsuite. They like the way OWC is integrated with iLearning but they have some specific requirements.
    One of the main requirement for them is to put a live webcam image of instructor/s in a webconference, where participants (students ) will be able to see the instructors teaching live. This webcam image will be positioned at the left or right top as a small window embedded to the webconference screen.
    Do we have the ability to add such functionality in collabsuite? If not, how can the customer meet this requirement? If anybody knows how to do this, please reply to this post.
    Thanks and best regards,

    b) how to save text to particular position.
    If anybody have sample code for this please send me it's very urgent.
    Thanks In Advance

    You will have to first extract the video file from the DVD. If it's not encrypted, use MPEG Streamclip
    <http://www.squared5.com/>
    Then you can play the video and subtitle files with VLC
    <http://www.videolan.org
    or QuickTime Player if you install Perian
    <http://www.perian.org>
    Make sure the video and subtitle files have the same name (except for the .srt extension).

    Hi Jaxna,
    In my previous post I have given you two sloutions ...
    one is to use rollOverColor property if you are using TileList control..
    Another one is to use if you are not using the TileList control....
    But you have clubbed both the solutions in your code.....
    More over rollOverColor is not an event, it is a property and there is no property or event called rollOutColor ...
    For rollOverColor you should give the color thats it....
    So just include rollOverColor="#09729e" in your TileList...thats it...no need to make any changes...
    <mx:TileList rollOverColor="#09729e" />

  • How to add links to different images within an animation in Photoshop CS4?

    Hey guys,
    I am trying to create an animation with photoshop cs4, but I was wondering if there is a way for me to add a link to each image as the animation is looping, that people can click on the image that is appearing on the screan at that particular moment and take them exactly to the link, and so on with the rest of the images within the animation. Please Help!!! I have no experience with CS4 as you can see or any other for that matter, so I would really appreciate any information that you can give me. Or if it's easier in Flash... please tell me how!! Thank you soooo much!!!

    Exactly as Zeno said. You'll either need Flash/ Flash Catalyst or do it all with JavaScript inside the web design application.

  • How to add JTable's backgroung image

    Hi all
    I want to add image toJTable's background
    I am having no idea how to do it
    Please tell me easiest way of doing that

    I have no idea whether this will work with a JTable, but you could put your JTable (and other components sharing the top-level container) on the "glass" layer, and make it transparent (and the glass pane visible), and put your background image behind it. It seems to work with other types of JComponents.

  • How to add layers from different images?

    I would like to use layers from several images in a single image. The idea is to give an x-ray view so that you can see images of different views of an object by selecting the opacity of the various layers. It would be similar to an image of the anatomy of a hand: you could see just the skin, or just the bones, or see the bones through the skin. Is this possible, and if so, how?

    Here is a loink on how you can copy image as a layer from several images to single image - http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshopelements/using/WS287f927bd30d4b1f-f216bde12e28ad1224- 7fee.html#WS287f927bd30d4b1f-f216bde12e28ad1224-7feb
