How to add video file to PDF

I have Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.2 and would like to add a video file (.avi) to a PDF document. It appears this version doesn't allow me to do that. So:
1. If it does, how?
2. If it doesn't, what version can I do that?
3. Is the video file embedded so if I send the PDF file to someone else, will they be able to view it?

You need Acrobat Pro to embed media files into your documents. As to (3), if they are using Adobe Reader 9+ on a Windows or OS X desktop then yes; if not, no.

nokia pc suite would work just fine or if your pc sees your phone's memory card you can simply drag and drop. the only thing is what format it supports.

I know it's a stupid question, but I've been trying to add videos (from my hard drive) to i-tunes so that they can be transferred to my (new) i-pod, and when I go to add files it lets me add music but not videos. Any hint?

This is most probably a corrupted file or the file was not properly converted to ipod video format. The same thing also happened to me before.

Thanks for your quick response. The original movies were taken on a Canon ES970 (1990's). I don't know the resolution but things were not as high tech back then.,.. I used a Roxio software to convert them on my MacBook Air. I didn't realize that I could use Adobe Premiere Elements to do that or I would have. However my old camera did not have a cable to attach it to a computer and the Roxio software came with it.
I then saved the recordings on an external hard drive. I did not make movies from them using iMovie or edit them in any way. They are simply .MOV files and they can be played on my Mac. Upon realizing how much memory it takes to work on videos, I decided it might be easier to burn DVD's on my husband's new Dell desktop that came with Windows 8. I downloaded Quicktime as suggested and still the movies can't be added to Premiere.

Hello, good evening.
(I don't even know how to start...)
I'm having some problems while trying to add video files to iTunes' library. No matter if I try to drag it in, or use the File > Add file to Library option, it just doesn't show up on the Video category (or any other category either). However, it adds music files and downloads podcasts perfectly. Also, everything in the library syncs to the iPod without problems, including the videos that were already there prior to the iTunes 6 to 7 update.
The video is already a .mp4, converted with the Videora iPod Converter. I'm using iTunes 7.0.1 on Windows XP. If other detail is needed to answer my question, just ask.

Wierd. When you say it doesn't show up in the Video category, you mean "movies" category, right? Because there is no "video" category.
I don't think iTunes would mistake it for a music file, and it probably wouldn't show up in TV shows (and I'm sure you already tried that), but did you check under Podcasts?
It doesn't give you an error message when you go to import? Can you play the file within windows?

Finally, I found out how to add a file to an existing package programmatically by using JavaScript (function: app.execMenuItem("AddFileAttachment")). Thanks for your help Ironsenth. However, I need to specify the file to attach programmatically and I can't figure out how to do it.
Could you let me know where I can find this information (what document to read)? Is there any parameters for the 'AddFileAttachment' method?

If you are getting HTML code from one of these slideshow.com places, you can add this code to your iWeb pages with a little bit of work. Two things to keep in mind...1. No way to do this via iWeb directly, so it involves editing the published html files, and 2. Because iWeb republishes the html files whenever you update the your webpage, you will lose your changes and have to redo them to add your slideshows back.
The general directions are as follows...
1. Decide where you want your slideshow and know exactly what dimensions you need.
2. Insert a text box onto your page and adjust its size to exactly your dimensions.
3. Type in some uniquely identifiable text like, "SLIDESHOWHERE" without changing the font or anything else...just type it in.
4. Publish your page with iWeb.
5. Find the html file associated with your published page (either on your iDisk or in a folder depending on how you published) and open it in any text editor (like Microsoft Word, or Textedit, or anything). You may need to set your text editor to "ignore rich text" or to "show HTML source".
6. Scroll through the html file and locate your placeholder text, e.g. "SLIDESHOWHERE".
7. Replace the placeholder text with your html code and save your page.
That's it. You should see your slideshow element show up in Safari where you placed the text box in iWeb!

Open iTunes. Under the menu bar (may need to hit 'control B' to bring that bar back to being visible) click on 'file' then 'Library' 'add to library' and navigate to your videos, choose them and iTunes should add them.
Sometimes iTunes insists that videos must be in the 'Videos' or 'My Videos' folder in your computer. So navigate to your main file explorer, where you see 'Documents' 'Music' etc. Put your videos into the video folder then follow the 'add to library' step and import them that way.
