How to adjust MTU? (xbox 360)

how would i go about adjusting the mtu on my linksys router?Message Edited by SadPanda7 on 01-07-200712:24 PM

You are leaving the username blank and entering only the password?  If that doesnt work you can reset the router by pressing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds.  Wait about a minute the go to http://192.168.1.1 and enter admin for password.  The router will have to be reconfigured again because a reset returns it back to factory settings.

  • How do I get xbox 360 to connect to wireless.

We cannot get xbox360 to connect to the wireless network despite just purchasing an AirPort Extreme.

You can Buy a linksys WAP54G that will work as an access point to provide you with wireless connectivity. Then you need wireless adapters for 360s or you can try WGA54Gs from linksys to  connect XBox wirelessly.

  • How to connect my xbox 360 through my linksys - WRT54G

    Hi,
I do not understand why my xbox's built in wireless system does not find my linksys router (in order to play online via the internet) providing that other devices in my house such as laptops and phones do. Iv'e heard that these routers may be setup to block video games, however I already tried playing with some of my router settings on the internet. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me!
    Thanks

If your Laptops are able to go online wirelessly and they are able to see your wireless network. First thing which you can check is the distance between your XBOX and Wireless Router. Try to reduce the distance between them.Login to the router setup page and check if the Wireless SSID is Enable, Try to change the wireless channel on your Router and check if your XBOX can view your wireless network.
Check if the Wireless Adapter is installed properly on your XBOX. Try to unplug the wireless adapter from your XBOX and replug it back and then search for the wireless network.

For the 2009 and 2010 27" iMacs with Mini DisplayPort you would need something like the Kanex XD http://www.kanexlive.com/xd
The Kanex XD is not compatible with ThunderBolt iMacs.

  • How to install xbox 360 controller on mac mavericks?

how to install wired xbox 360 controller on mac mavericks?
    i installed this driver
    http://files.tattiebogle.net/360/360ControllerInstall.dmg
    but is not working

    @mtnbkr81,
So you are trying to use the wireless controller? All that I have read points to more reliability for the wired when using it on a computer. Perhaps you should save money for a wired one?
I also forgot to mention the installation procedures on the .11 version. My controller does get recognized but as a genereric controller. Not specific to xbox360. But you can try this:
-Uninstall the pref pant and the couple of other files that have been written to your MAC. Use the search on "controller"
-once deleted run the .11 version of tthe driver. MAKE SURE THE CONTROLLER IS NOT IN THE USB PORT.
-after the installation is complete open up preferences adn you should see an xbox360 option
-open it and then plug in the controller
-it should then get recognized. You may need to play with some of the options.

  • Xbox 360  on Imac 27"

Hello does anyone know how to hookup an xbox 360 through the mini display port. I currently have a mini display to HDMI and i hit command F2 and nothing happens. Am i doing something wrong or should i be using the mini to VGA adaptor? Please help!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
The adapters that Apple sells are not for this purpose. They are one directional. They are for taking your video signal from the new iMac to a second display. They will not work in the other direction.
You need a converter for the Xbox 360 that will convert its video signal to mini-DisplayPort. These newly developed converters are about US$150+.
    http://lowendmac.com/ed/bashur/09db/dvi-to-mini-displayport.html
Then you just need a simple mini-DisplayPort to mini-DisplayPort cable to connect the converter to the new iMac.

  • Help Needed 2 x Xbox 360 & WRT320N

    Hi,
Iam currently looking to purchases a new router for the Home, we have several computers and 2 X box 360 consoles, Currently using our current Cable modem / Router (Netgear) we are unable to get an open NAT setting for both consoles when we play on line.
My Question is, will the WAG320N allow us to connect multipliable Xbox 360 units and receive Open NAT settings on both X box 360's
I have access to use a SURboard SB5101 cable modem that i want to connect to a router that will fix our issue, Currently we are using a Netgear Modem/Router Combo (Telstra Bigpond Customer)

Can anyone tell me it also because i have the same problem as luckydogslevin.
I have 2 xbox consols and they are all connected to 1 router (WRT320N) I have tried everything from calling to Xbox maybe they have brains and they can tell me what i need to do. And i did also what the link said:http://en.kioskea.net/faq/4983-how-to-connect-two-xbox-360-consoles-on-a-network
And throught this i have seen that the most of the tips are like crap sorry for my language but its true they said from try Port Forwarding and at the same time DMZ oke one thing i know is that they are not working to gather that well and even some said just turn UPnP off and put anomynouse internet filter off again i know it is not going to work but still i try.
     NOTHING is working .
I need someone that finally found the cure for this cancer because is really driving my nuts.
Please let someone have the major discovery and tell me what thing i need to do maybe with nice pictures or a good explanation what i need to do step by step.
BTW i have also tried DD-WRT and i dont like it because i have limited bandwidth i have normally 120 Mb/s and i like to keep it that way because with DD-WRT i just get 80 or less and that is not where i'm paying for you know.
Again please come with how you need to do it .

  • Time Capsule & XBOX 360

Has anyone been able to get Time Capsule to work with XBOX 360 live?

I made a little movie in iMovie about how I got my Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter to receive a wireless connection from my 500 GB Time Capsule. I am pretty sure that this is also compatible with Airport Extreme.
This is the link to the video:

  • How can i get an xbox 360 to connect to my time capsule via WIRED connection?

I have a Time Capsule and i need to connect my xbox 360 to it because my stepdad has the network in this house set up crazily. He gets mad if i ask him to change anything because it is how he wants it and it works with EVERYTHING ELSE. I do not have a wireless adapter so i need to connect the xbox to my time capsule via a wired connection
    Thanks =]

Here is what I would look into.
Use iCloud and photo stream to upload pictures taken with the iPad.
Find a remote log in utility, or web based app to then remote to your computer.
Download the files from photo stream to your time capsule.
As far as recommending a remote log in utility. I have not experience in that area and would need to do research my self.

  • How do I reserve an IP address for my XBOX 360 based on it's MAC settings??

How do I reserve an IP address for my XBOX 360 based on it’s MAC settings??
I went to Airport utility and went to DHCP tab under Internet. I have my wired MAC address from my Xbox 360, now where do I type it in?
Apparently this gives a more permanent IP to the 360 console, enabling me to get on Xbox Live.
Please clarify exactly how to reserve an IP address for my 360 based on its MAC settings.
    Thanks

Hello kaseychatila. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
How do I reserve an IP address for my XBOX 360 based on it’s MAC settings??
Here is how to reserve a DHCP-IP address for your Xbox 360 using the AirPort Utility.
Make sure you are connected (by wire or wirelessly) to the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS), and then, open the AirPort Utility. Select the AEBS, and then, select Manual Setup.
    Internet > DHCP tab
o On the DHCP tab, click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
o Description: <enter the desired description of the host device, like Xbox 360>
o Reserve address by: MAC Address
    o Click Continue.
o MAC Address: <enter the MAC hardware address of the XBox 360>
o IPv4 Address: <enter the desired IP address that you want the XBox 360 to get from the AEBS>
    o Click Done.

  • Can anyone tell me how to port forward and setup an XBOX 360 using my Time Capsule??

    Xbox 360
When playing the game online, the minimum speed of your network should be 128kbps. The ideal network speed for playing the game online is 768kbps. If you are having a problems with lag check the following:
    Network Troubleshooting:
Disable any firewall or security features on your router.
Set port forwarding on your router to the IP address of your Xbox 360. This game uses port 3074 (UDP/TCP). Additionally Xbox LIVE requires ports 80, 53 TCP and 88, 53 UDP.
Place your Xbox 360 into the DMZ of your router.
Disconnect your router and try the game. If it works regularly at this point something about your router may not be completely compatible with the specific needs of this game. Check with your router manufacturer and Microsoft's Xbox Live Connection Issues page for additional steps that may need to be done to resolve the issue you are having. You can also verify that you have an Xbox Live compatible router.
If you are having issues connecting while multiple Xbox 360 consoles are connected on the same network, try forwarding port 3074 (UDP/TCP) for one Xbox 360 and setting the other as DMZ. There is a chance that this may not resolve you issue,  if it doesn’t then you may want to consider getting an additional public IP address by contacting your Internet Service Provider and assigning it to one of these two consoles.
NOTE: If setting port forwarding or DMZ helps your connection issue, you may want to assign your Xbox 360 a static IP address within your home network. This can help to ensure that the configurations you made do not need to be done again. You can visit PortForward's Static IP Guide for a detailed guide on how to do this.
NOTE: Many broadband internet modems are coming with routing capabilities built in. Please contact your internet service provider to determine if your internet modem has an integrated router. If it does, they should be able to assist you with the steps above for setting up your router.
Once you have verified that your network setup is not the cause of the issue, try the following:
Try connecting to a different server. Some servers may have other players connected to them that you do not have an optimal connection with. In most games this is accomplished by backing out to the main menu and then selecting multiplayer again. From there you can try connecting to another online game.
Run the Xbox Network Self Test to see how strong your NAT is currently set to. Once the test is completed you will be notified if there is an issue with your connection. If you select "More Info" you will be given information about your NAT type and some steps to resolve any issues with your connection.
Moderate and Strict NAT types may have issues connecting to online matches. You may get the error "Notice - The game session is no longer available." If you do then enabling UPnP, forwarding port 3074, or placing your Xbox in your router's DMZ may resolve this issue. Please consult your router documentation for instructions on how to do this.

Whoa....this just went way over my head.... I already have 6.1 installed for my Airport Utility.
Read again what I wrote.. 6.1 is the problem.. or part of it.
You need to install the earlier 5.6 version which I have given you explicit instructions to do.
I have done something now and can not connect the XBOX at all now....unless you can provide me step by step directions I may have to call Apple Support.
This will happen over and over.. just press reset and start again.. you need to learn how to do the setup and using 5.6 utility will help you.. as will using ethernet from the computer to the TC.. trying to fix things over wireless is like sitting on a tree branch you are sawing off. As soon as you update you will fall to the ground.
I am not that sure that Apple Support will have any idea.
Do a google search .. you will find most people struggle with this.. Microsoft made the xbox to use upnp with vista specs.. if you use a router without upnp, ie any apple router.. you will have issues.
Have a go at bypassing the problem.. I have no idea if this will work.. I do not use a TC as the main router because much of my network including xbox and ps3 is just a pain.. I use a modem router with upnp. And bridge the TC.. that is the setup I would recommend.
Try this.. once you have installed 5.6 utility.
Get the IP of the XBox and click enable default host.. and put the IP address in there.. this is called DMZ.. all unassigned packets are forwarded to this ip address.. it is like a port forwarding for all ports.
See if it helps.. If it does you will need to lock the xbox address so it doesn't change.. we can get to that.
Tell me what kind of broadband you have and what modem router first.. none of this will work if you have double NAT.
