How to adjust scroll bar speed

hi all, could really use help, can't figure this out...the
scroll is super fast, how can I slow down the up and down buttons
as well as the middle thumb srcoller?
code attached!

Hello I am using JTextArea in FlowLayout and getDocument() is not found in
JTextArea.The FlowLayout has nothing to do with the inner workings of the JTextArea. If you have placed the JTextArea inside a JScrollPane, then scrolling is enabled. Remember to use correct arguments for the JScrollPane (vertical vs. horizontal scrolling).
The getDocument() method IS in fact found in JTextArea. You might want to check out the API documentation. (JTextArea extends JTextComponent which includes this method).
Cheers

  • How to add scroll bar to JDesktopPane?

    Hi All,
         After download the "InternalFrameDemo.java" from the swing tutorial, I want to add scrollbars to JDesktopPane so that whenever a internal frame moves off the desktop view port, a scrollbar will display. I have tried many ways to implement this but no success.
    Do you know how to add scrollbars to JDesktopPane?
    Thanks
    Anson

    You can't get there from here! Assuming that wou want is to make the desktop scrollable that is.
    The trick to make somthing scrollable is to make JScrollPane CONTAIN the component to be scrolled. If you could ask the desktop to return the component it contains, you might have a chance but no luck, the desktop pane actually inherits a layered pane which is most likey is what you would like JScrollPane to contain.
    Now here's another angle to this story... the desktop is complex enough without scrollbars, why would you want to complicate things by adding a scroll bar anyway? Say one of its window is maximized and has a scrollbar of its own AND the desktop has one.... that makes TWO scroll bars side by side. Talk about confusing.
    I believe the desktop was designed so scroll bars can't be added for a very good reason: good UI practises.

  • How to hide scroll bar

    Hi everyone,
    when i display iviews on the page it should not show me the scroll bar.
    how to hide the scroll bar in iview.

    Hi Sonal,
    You can try this, create a JSPDynpage to display your Iviews as Iframes ( disable the scrolling mode in Iframes), in the imgsrc attribute of Iframe give the URL path of ur Iviews to be displayed.(if two iviews put it as two iframes)
    Regarding the gap between Iframes or design of the JSP page you can handle it thro Htmlb or even html tags.Upload the Par in the portal, create a new iview out of it (it will not have scrolling mode and your design can be established) Now add this Iview to a page.
    Hope it helps.

    Vivekanandan

  • How to remove scroll bars

    I am embedding my form. How do i remove the scroll bars?
    Also, can I have 2 columns?
    If not, can I tighten up the space between items and delete the huge space before the Submit button?

    How did you embed the form? Did you copy the HTML code from the actual form or did you go to the distribute tab in the app, click Embed, copy the embed code and then paste it into your HTML. Based on what you are seeing I think you did the former which is not the correct way. You need to use the embed code that the app provides to do this.
    We currently don't support multiple fields on one row nor the ability to "tweak" the spacing.
    Thanks for your feedback!

  • How to add scroll bar within af:showDetail

    I have added a af:panelGroupLayout to af:showDetail, and set the "layout" property of the panel group layout out to "scroll". However, the scroll bar still does not show up within af:showDetail. If I set the height for the panel group layout within af:showDetail, then the scroll bar shows. But then it will not stretch vertically upon stretching the dialog vertically. Is it possible to add scroll bar within af:showDetail?
    Here's a sample code which I tried -
    <*af:panelStretchLayout* id="psl1">
    <f:facet name="center">
    <*af:showDetail* disclosed="false" id="sd1" disclosedText="Metadata"
    undisclosedText="Metadata">
    <*af:panelGroupLayout* id="pgl2"
    inlineStyle="background-color:White;"
    layout="*scroll*">
    </panelGroupLayout>
    </af:showDetail>
    </f:facet>
    </af:panelStretchLayout>

    Yes, you can try panelStretchLayout as well.
    Copy following fragment into an empty <af:document> to see the difference.
    <af:form id="f1">
    <af:showDetail disclosed="true" id="sd1">
    <af:panelStretchLayout id="psl1">
    <f:facet name="bottom"/>
    <f:facet name="center">
    <af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl1" layout="scroll">
    <af:outputFormatted value="outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
outputFormat1
"

  • How to view scroll bar in filmstrip view in aperture 3.2.2?

    I have aperture 3.2.2 and normally work in filmstrip mode. In the documentation I notice a scroll bar underneath the filmstrip, allowing you to scroll quickly through the images. When I open aperture I see no such scroll bar. Underneath the filmstrip I have keyword controls, but no scroll bar. I have a couple of arrows that allow me to move one image to left or right, but no scroll bar. Is there a simple way to be able to have the scroll bar be visible? Thanks, Ric

    Ok, It now has suddenly appeared. I switched between the viewing modes several times, and now the scroll bar is appearing. It took a long time (and many switches) for this to work, but now it works fine.
