How to app store sort

Hi eveybody,
I need some help, if so, I'll very be appreciated.
I wonder what are the criterias in apples's app store to rank first in search results, I mean, I want to be listed in higher places whenever users search puzzle games. What can I do to be ranked higher in these search results?
Regards,
Volkan Yasa

As far as I am aware there aren't any settings/defaults that you can change for the App Store app - if it's something that you'd like then you could try leaving feedback for Apple : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • App Store Sorting Loop Holes

Looks like some developers are taking advantage of a bug/loop hole in Apple's sorting algorithm in the App Store on the device. If you put a space or some other other special characters in the front of your Application Name then you get sorted at the top of the list when viewing applications by Categories on the device. Look at the Games category in the App Store on a device and you will see a blatant example of what I am talking about.

Yes companies have played games with the yellow pages forever, but I do not think that putting a space in front of your business name would get you at the front of the yellow pages listing.
This technique seems to really work to boost sales, the " Solitaire City" that is right now at the front of the list, (do not know how long it will stay there before they get leap frogged), has been steadily creeping up the Top Apps list. This game is $9.99, certainly not cheap for Solitaire.

  • App Store sorting reviews

Have to agree with most people that the new App Store layout it horrible.
How do you sort the order of the reviews?  They seem to me to be in no logical order and I want them in date order.

I know what you are talking about pagemakers2! The appstore has become so confusing! And the reviews issue is just one point-.-
One is no longer able to sort the apps by their release date... How am i supposed to see new apps, if i can't look at them?? I don't want to scroll 2h to find them in the categories!
I hope this will be fixed soon

I have two studios working under my company, I want them to be able to release apps under there own name but I want the income to be taxed under one company. Do anyone know if its possible to have two app store accounts under one EIN number? Because you cannot have two under one social secrity number

  • HT5631 How come App Store from MacBook Pro 13" wont accept my card?

I kept trying to buy an App. but app store wont just accept it? It's Mastercard, and i clicked mastercard. and yet it says "Please enter valid payment method information"

Is this a MasterCard credit or debit card issued by a bank, with a verifiable billing/statement address or is it a prepaid MasterCard debit card that you bought in a local store? Apple does not accept the second type of card.

  • Comment fonctionne le moteur de recherche d'applications sur le Store? how's working the search engine of App.Store?

    Bonjour,
I am a student librarian making a dissertation on the ipad. I seek to know how the App Store works when we are researching applications, and how  are sorted the applications in the Store and the differents big categories (financial, well-being, etc)
That is to say, if keywords are associated with applications available online, and if so, are they chosen by the author of the app, or imposed by Apple? these keywords are they free or do they partient a reference list? (thesauri, authority list, etc.)
I am also looking for information on the operation of the search engine and proposed applications. are there any criteria such as popularity, rating by users, the number of download and update on the overall quality, etc.? The idea would be to have an overview of what determines which applications are offered in priority and according to what connditions. In sum, the parameters a librarian should take into account to optimize the search for an ideal application for a given need.

  • HT201272 Why aren't my previously purchased apps showing up in the purchased tab of the app store on my new ipad?  I used the same ID as my old ipad.

I sold my original ipad and bought an ipad 2.  I wasn't worried about losing all of the apps I had previously purchased/downloaded, because I knew that the app store has a "purchased" tab, from which you can download previously downloaded apps.  I set up my new ipad 2 with the same app store ID.  I went to the purchased tab, the loading circle went on for awhile then went away, but no apps showed up.  What's the problem?
I would be really upset if I lost all of the apps I previously paid for or downloaded (probably about 80 or so), seeing as how the app store is supposed to remember my purchase/download history based upon the user ID.

Go to "Settings > iTunes and App Stores", touch the AppleID, sign out, and then sign in with your revised AppleID.

  • Business vs. Private purchase - how are App updates handled?

    Hi,
I have my own business, but already purchased a few apps for private use on my Mac. Now I need to make a business purchase and I'm wondering how the App Store handles this.
If I switch accounts, can I still see, run, and update the same apps? Do I need to switch accounts to use an app? Do I (please no) need to log out and in to use an app from a different account?
    Any help is appreciated, thanks!
    Vincent

You don't need to be logged in with the purchasing account in order to use a app.
You would have to log in with the purchasing account in order to update.

  • Problems with the App store

I dislike how the app store works and I'm hoping you can take my suggestions and change it. I really dislike how buying an app works. It is too easy to buy stuff, and would be nice to have a verification before the final charge gets put through. Also, there should be a simple easy way to view Apps that have already been purchased. I should be able to go to my account and see a list of all the Apps I've purchased by date. I should be able to click on each App from that list and redownload it if I want. I have a MacBook Pro laptop, and iPod touch, and an iPad and it's a super pain sharing apps from the iPod to the iPad because of how your App store works. We really like the concept, it just needs to be a LOT more user friendly. If you allow people to redownload stuff and to share stuff from one machine to another, then you should make it easier for them to do so. BTW in our household we have 2 MacBook Pro laptops (a 15 in and a 17 in), a Mac mini, an iPod touch, an iPhone, and 2 iPads. I want to be able to use my music and Apps on whatever machine I'm using, so the sharing is critical for me.

  • Successfully installed OS X Yosemite 10.10, App Store updates prompting me to update to OS X Yosemite Beta 2, OS X Yosemite Beta Recovery Update 1.0

    Good day community people,
I've successfully installed the final release of OS X Yosemite 10.10 on my iMac 21.5" (Late 2012). When I open the Mac App Store to check for updates, the updates prompt me to update OS X Yosemite Beta 2 & OS X Beta Recovery Update 1.0. The question here is, I already installed the latest release on my iMac why how come App Store still stated I need to update to Beta version?
More info on my previous state before installing the final release. I was a Open Public Beta tester of OS X Yosemite but I didn't install it on my iMac, therefore my iMac is upgraded from OS X Mavericks. So by right my procedure is correct. Please assist. Thank you.

It seems no one could answer my question here but I found the solution. There's a bug even after installing the final release that caused the Mac App Store keep on prompting Yosemite Public Beta updates. The only solution is re-download the final version again from Mac App Store and re-install on top of current installation without formatting or erase the hard drive.
    And you're welcome

  • App store os x download question

i'm setting up a brand new imac this weekend for my brother who lives on the island, about a 3-hour trip from where we live. my brother has some challenges. my family purchased an imac on june 15th for him. he qualifies for the free mountain lion upgrade once it's available. i'm wondering if i can download the mountain lion upgrade for him on my own imac running 10.6.8 when it shows up in the app store by using the apple id i'll be setting up for him? i'd rather not see him attempt to do this on his own and intend on putting mountain lion on a thumb drive so that i can go back out at the end of august or early september and upgrade him at that point. i don't want the upgrade for myself, i'm quite content with staying at 10.6.8. i know a fair amount about macs but just don't quite understand how the app store process works. is this possible?

    Hi..
i'm wondering if i can download the mountain lion upgrade for him on my own imac running 10.6.8 when it shows up in the app store by using the apple id i'll be setting up for him?
Sorry, but no. The upgrade will have to be done on his iMac running Lion using his Apple ID.
OS X Mountain Lion Up-to-Date Program
The OS X Mountain Lion Up-to-Date upgrade will be available at no additional charge from the Mac App Store to all customers who purchase a qualifying new Mac system from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller on or after June 11, 2012.
Customers must request their Up-to-Date upgrade within 30 days of purchasing their Mac computer. Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac between June 11, 2012 and the date when Mountain Lion is available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from the OS X Mountain Lion release date to make a request.
When Mountain Lion becomes available in July, come back to this page for details on how to request your copy of Mountain Lion.

  • Getting the app store ready for someone

    Hi,
I am curretly in USA and bought an iPad for my mother that lives in Argentina.  I set her apple ID but now I can't sign in.  When I try to sign in it tell me that it cannot sign in.  Basically I want her iPad to be ready to use in Argentina with some free apps but I can't get this thing to work. Any ideas?
    Thank you.

Can you get to another computer and login using the ID you created?
If true then the problem seems to reside on the iPad.
If false then there is an issue with the Apple ID.
Still think you need AppleCare's involvement but one quick idea...
If you can get access to the account on the other non-ipad machine then intentionally change the password.
Then try to use the Apple ID and changed password on the iPad.
The other thought is if you can get access on the other machine then the account is valid and your iPad is somehow messed up. Go to System Preferences and delete the account.
Again my preference is you are covered under AppleCare so verify the above with them before doing anything on the iPad. Remember when you opened the iPad for the first time the unit was linked to your mom's AppleCare account. Hitting "Restore" might be their recommendation but that is not from me as I am not that knowledgable about how the App Store/Apple ID's work.
