How to apply ajax / XMLHttpRequest in jsp

Hi,
I would like to know how to apply the above in my jsp page. I did not use xml tag
for example:
I have 3 fields in the form. after user chosen the selected value from the listbox of the first field, the program will have to retrieve the data from the database based on the value user selected on the first field and display on the 2nd listbox and so on.
I cannot ask user to submit each time he has chosen the value, therefore I guess ajax can perform this.
pls help and provide me the example on how to do the above.

The JSP does not need to know that the request is coming over SSL. If the application must be over SSL, but the server also allows non-SSL communication, then, like I said, you need to build in a Filter that will check if the incoming request is an https or http request and redirect to the https url if the request was http. And you can do that using the method listed in the previous post. As far as setting up the SSL certificate for Tomcat to use, refer to the Tomcat Documentation that comes with the server. Other than those two things, you don't need to know anything else about SSL inorder to run an SSL application through a Tomcat server (or any other enterprise server either, for that matter), but do an internet search for SSL and maybe one or two other keywords that apply to your situation and you should find plenty that will help.

How to use extends attribute in jsp page directive

Can anybody tell how to extend a existing .jsp file from another .jsp file. I have tried but it gives error.
I have used Extends attribute of page directive as below:

How to apply different CSS styles to different table cells?

I have an h:dataTable table and I would like to apply different CSS styles to different table cells depending on their content. If I were doing JSP I would probably have a <c:if> test on the cells, and give them a style name depending on contents, and then define the styles in a separate style sheet. Is there a way in JSF to do the equivalent? Thanks.

specific.Well, if the correct line separator sequence (by far not always \n) would be used, it does add a new line to the HTML output. Too bad that you don't want to see HTML but formatted text. The BR tag is a formatting element for the displayed text, not a line break in HTML. ;)

Macbook pro system running slow - etrecheck shows issues - any idea how to apply fixes?

Hi I normally consider myself pretty web savvy but I'm totally lost on what to do here. This computer has been running slow since I got it, but the harddrive went sideways recently. Adding some RAM would help. Even though you haven't restarted for 4+ days, this is a little high. The 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service. They have on-line instructions on how to replace the RAM. Unfortunately we have a large existing install base of Office Home and Business in the field due to customers buying Office bundled on Dell machines. Buying Open License Outlook licenses is more cost effective than upgrading to Office Pro Plus for all
these users and is our preferred path. We aren’t sure how to apply these Open License Outlook licenses since the Home and Business installations work off a single license key for all the applications

Isn't the Office bundled on Dell machines already activated?
If it's the OEM version that has been installed on the machines and you want to use retail product keys to activate the Office, it's not possible. You will need to uninstall the OEM version and install the retail version.

Without looking at your search specific algorithms I feel you are finally going to display a page (HTML content) to user which contains highlighted text. Highlighting is not directly related to server side language you use (JSP, ASP, PHP etc.). This is purely HTML and CSS. However, server side script (such as JSP) should generate HTML content for getting highlight effect.
Following HTML shows highlighted text using background-color property on span element.

i found agreat website with free cd covers for my songs that will show up in the corner of my ipod. but i can figure out how to apply the picture to all the songs in an alubm an dnot just one, i can only drag the picture into the box in itunes one by one.
