How to apply an embroidery effect to a picture ?

Hello,
What is the technic to use to give a picture the look of an embroidery ? Is there a filter in Photoshop, or should I look for a special plugin, and which would it be ? I'm using Photoshop 5.5 on a Mac.
Thank you

  • [Ai-CS5] How to apply "Adobe Deform" effect on selected object?

    Hi All,
    I have an image on document and I want to wrap it horizontally. But I don't know which suites are required to perform this operation and how.
    I went through APIs and searched in this forum and got to know that  I'll have to apply "Adobe Deform " effect.
    plz suggest!
    Thanks.

    Actly  I saw it in this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/4158636#4158636
    Also when I get the all effects name and write them into a file. I got the "Adobe Deform" and 86 more. Here is the code snippet...
    ///Start
    ASInt32 cnt = -1;
    sAILiveEffect->CountLiveEffects(&cnt);
    cnt--;
    ofstream myfile;
    myfile.open ("C:\\Effects_Name.txt");
    for( ; cnt >= 0;  --cnt)
         const char *p = NULL;
          AILiveEffectHandle le = NULL;
          sAILiveEffect->GetNthLiveEffect(cnt,  &le);
          sAILiveEffect->GetLiveEffectName(le, &p);
          myfile << p<<"\n";
    myfile.close();
    ///END
    All I want to know is how to warp a selected  image horizontally on a document programmatically.
    Also I tried to use Action manager suite to warp the object but code has no effect. Here is the code snippet.
    //Start
    AIErr error;
                                            AIActionParamValueRef actionParam;
                                            //create a new action param value.
                                            error = sAIActionManager->AINewActionParamValue(&actionParam);
                                            error = sAIActionManager->AIActionSetInteger(actionParam,kAIEnvelopeWarpStyle, kWarpStyleArc);
                                            error = sAIActionManager->AIActionSetInteger(actionParam,kAIEnvelopeBend, 2);
                                            error = sAIActionManager->AIActionSetInteger(actionParam,kAIEnvelopeHorizDistort, 20);
                                            error = sAIActionManager->AIActionSetInteger(actionParam,  kAIEnvelopeVertDistort , 0);
                                            error = sAIActionManager->AIActionSetInteger(actionParam,kAIEnvelopeRotate90, 0);
                                            error = sAIActionManager->PlayActionEvent(kAIEnvelopeMakeAction , kDialogOn, actionParam);
    //End
    Please guide me.

  • How to apply a "motion" effect to an entire group of images in FCP

    I have Final Cut Studio and I'm creating a time-lapse video right now out of about 3,000 high-resolution JPEG images. I've figured out how to import them in to my bin at a default length of 1 frame per image and then drag them in to the timeline (30 images per second).
    I now need to make them all larger by about 60% (they automatically imported into the timeline at 45%). I also need to readjust their "center" location and "rotation" throughout the video as the camera was running for several months and got bumped here and there. So I need to zoom in (to create a buffer on the border of the images) and then rotate, tilt, and pan the frame in various places until the video is nice and smooth and consistent throughout.
    My question is, how do I apply motion effects to the entire track or to hundreds of images in one shot? I'll die of old age if I have to manually apply, re-apply, and re-re-apply the settings to 3000 individual images. I've been searching for an answer to this for a while but haven't found any articles so I thought I'd post it as a question.
    Any ideas would be HUGELY appreciated!
    Thanks

    Wow, thank you everyone for giving me so many ideas.
    Tom, I never knew about the "Paste Attributes" button... and I've been using FCP for 4 years, how embarrassing. But dang, what a COOL feature! I'll be using that a lot in the future.
    Kevin, this Nest feature is PERFECT! That was literally what I was looking for really (a way to keep the image high quality as I zoom in and tinker and what not).
    David, the images are 1600 X 1200 @ 180 DPI. That was actually one of the lower settings in GbTimelapse, but as long as I can use the padding to crop and zoom, I'm happy. Thanks for the info though.
    And Andy, thanks for the tip about Motion. Normally I only use Motion for titles but I know I really should play with it more as I'm aware of it's ability to do so much more than that.
    Thanks again to everyone. Seriously, 10 minutes after I asked this question and I had 3 different, REALLY good solutions to a problem that I thought would be incredibly hard to solve, haha
    Cheers guys,
    Chris

  • How to apply a watermark to hundreds of pictures quickly/easily?

    Ok I need to add a watermark/tiny logo of mine to hundreds and hundreds of different photos.
    What is the easiest/quickest way to do this?
    Surely it cant be one by one...?

    So you've basically made me a template for me to plug my logo into?  Is that my understanding?
    I haven't made anything. That tutorial video by Russsell Brown of Adobe tells you how to do it and the action he offers will do all the hard work and let you pick your logo.
    You just have to load the action into the your Actions Panel and run it as he describes.

  • How to apply video effects across several clips

    Does anyone know how to apply a video effect across several clips in a sequence, as opposed to doing each clip individually?

    Nest the sequence and apply the effect to the nested sequence.
    You will find links to many free tutorials in the

  • How to apply effects selectively?

    I want to apply a certain effect (eg. Blur) only to a part of my footage - let's say only inside a star-shaped region of the footage. The rest should remain unaffected.
    How do I create that selection, and how do I make the Effect apply only within its boundary?

    Duplicate the layer, apply a mask to one of them: Read up on masking in the online help.

  • How to apply an effect to just the subject in After Effects CS6

    Hello,
    I would like to add an effect to just a person in front of a green screen.  I've created an adjustment layer that produces the effect and placed it above the footage layer. How can I have the effect just apply to the actor and not carry over and fill the rest of the screen?
    thank you,

    Don't be afraid of using multiple layers and duplicates of your keyed footage.
    Another thing you can do is apply the grid effect to a solid, pre-compose the solid, then use Set Matte to extract the alpha from your keyed layer. There are a million ways to do what you want to do but most of them can't be done without using multiple layers.

  • How can i apply this glowing effect in logo with illustrator?

    How can i apply this glowing effect in logo | ThemeForest Community Forums

    I would make several copies of the original artwork.  On each copy, section the individual areas to be gradients. It looks like you have at least four gradients, both linear and radial.  It's just a matter of building each section and then reassembling each.  Not too complex, yet nice piece of artwork.

  • How can I use After Effects filters on a whole sequence without getting stuck in After Effects?

    It appears that, with the options that are visible to the user, Dynamic Link only goes one-way and can't make round trips from Premiere Pro to After Effects and back again.  If I send a sequence to After Effects, that part works fine and I can do what I want and save the comp.  However, even though the comp appears as an asset in Premiere Pro, I am not allowed to do anything with it.  If I try to drag it to a new sequence, it just says no.  If I click "Create Sequence from Clip" it creates an empty sequence.
    So how can I use After Effects on whole sequences/tracks instead of just on a clip-by-clip-by-clip-by-clip-by-clip basis?  is this possible?  For instance, if I have a whole sequence where I've neutralized the white balance, I might want to apply a warming filter to the whole thing as a unit.  That would be really painful with even a few clips to keep doing that again and again, and if you want to modify it slightly you have to do it over and over.  If there is a way to do that through Dynamic Link through some hidden option, what happens with the audio?  Would I have to cut it out of the lower sequence and paste it into the higher sequence with the After Effects comp as a video track?

    I'm not an Adoby guy, hence you may ignore my reply, but Adobe Dynamic Link is obviously not just one way ticket and in most cases works just fine.
    You have already been explained by J-MS and tclark513 how to properly use it and which pitfalls may occur.
    So as to apply an effect onto a whole sequence or a group of clips you need to either nest them in PrPro or pre-compose them in AE. Then just apply an effect (or several ones) onto that composition.
    So, if you nest clips in PrPro, select your nested sequence in the timeline, right-click and choose 'Replace with After Effects Composition'. Done! Your dynamically linked AE composition is in the right place in your timeline and in your Project panel as well. If you can not treat it as an ordinary footage, there are obviously some mistakes in your workflow.
    If you didn't nest your sequence or a group of clips in PrPro before replacing them with AE composition, you may easily do it within AE. Just select all the layers in AE composition and choose Layer -> Pre-compose... (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+C) Done! Switch back to your Master comp and apply your desired effect(s)
    You may loose some effects or/and transitions while travelling from PrPro to AE via Adobe Dynamic Link, whereas you don't while travelling back
    (If you start building your AE composition from scratch right in AE and then need to import it into PrPro, DO NOT export one as PrPro project out of AE, but rather choose Adobe Dynamic Link -> Import After Effects Composition... within PrPro)
    P.S. And yes, submit a feature-request so that Adobe will convert 'Transparent Video' into fully functional 'Adjustment Layer'.

  • How to apply an Outlook 2013 Open license to a pre-installed Office Home and Business 2013 installation for Email Auto Archiving functionality

    We're deploying new Dell pc's.
    Unfortunately we have a large existing install base of Office Home and Business in the field due to customers buying Office bundled on Dell machines.  Buying Open License Outlook licenses is more cost effective than upgrading to Office Pro Plus for all
    these users and is our preferred path.  We aren’t sure how to apply these Open License Outlook licenses since the Home and Business installations work off a single license key for all the applications

    Hi,
    Isn't the Office bundled on Dell machines already activated?
    If it's the OEM version that has been installed on the machines and you want to use retail product keys to activate the Office, it's not possible. You will need to uninstall the OEM version and install the retail version.
    You can check the OEM licensing system here:

  • How do you add multiple effects to the same clip

    How do you had multiple effects to the same clip. I have tried for hours
    I would like to add sepia and aged movie to the same clip. I heard it can be done, but have not figured out how to do it.
    anyone please.

    Normally you can apply only one video effect at a time. But for Sepia, black and white, and others that can be done through the video Adjustments tab, you are in luck.
    Aged Movie should already have a bit of a sepia tone.
    If you want more of a sepia tone or you want to fine tune the sepia effect you can do it with the Clip Inspector/Video Adjustments tab.
    Note: Thanks to Jeff Carlson of MacWorld for this tip.
    If you're looking for a washed-out sepia appearance, first open iMovie's preferences and turn on the Show Advanced Tools option, which adds more controls to the Video Adjustments HUD and other areas of the program. Select the clip you want to alter and press the V key. Set Saturation to 0 percent, and then drag the Red Gain slider to 143 percent, the Green Gain slider to 90 percent, and the Blue Gain slider to 53 percent (feel free to tweak these settings to customize the results). Click on Done when you're finished. Note that the clip thumbnail still appears in color, as the video was shot, but the preview reflects your changes.--JC
    If you need to apply the same settings to all clips, first select the clip you have adjusted. Then Edit/Copy. Then Edit/Select All. Then Edit/Paste Adjustments.
