How to apply TD style only to cells in one particular table

The "schedtable" class below is applied to a nested table,
but my syntax for
the TD applies the rule to the outer table cells as well.
What would the correct syntax be to limit the rule to only
the cells in the
"schedtable"
Please take a look -
<style type="text/css">
<!--
.schedtable {
font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 11px;
font-variant: small-caps;
line-height: 2em;
border-collapse: collapse;
.td {
padding-left: 10px;
border-bottom-style: inset;
border-bottom-color: #FF0000;
border-bottom-width: 1px;
Thanks

I owe you one more Os,
much appreciated.

    In the latest version of Pages is there anyway to apply a style only to selected text and not to whole paragraph? Thanks.

    Yes, use Character Styles.

  • How to apply different styles to multiple spry accordian panels?

    Hi all,
    I have a website that I'm building that has multiple spry accordian features on it.
    I am trying to apply different styles to each accordian. A problem arises when I try to place an accordian within another accordian.
    I have styled two different background images for two of the accordians for the styles (AccordionPanelTab, AccordionPanelTabHover and AccordionPanelOpen AccordionPanelTabHover) which work fine.
    When I try and place an accordian within another accordian the background image for this accordian for the styles (AccordionPanelTab and AccordionPanelOpen AccordionPanelTabHover) has the different style applyed that I stated in the accordion.css file, however the style (AccordionPanelTabHover) has the same style as the accordian it is within even though in the accordion.css file I stated a different background image.
    I hope all this makes sence below is my source and CSS Code.
    I appriciate any help that can be given to help resolve this issue I am running in too.

    Okay guys,
    I figured it out, if anyone was having the same problem as me and looking on this thread for the answer, here it is.
    Firstly if you're wanting to seperatly style two or more Spry Accordions that are not within each other e.g.
    <div id="Accordion1" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion1 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 -->
    <div id="Accordion2" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion2 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 -->
    You don't have to do this, as long as you have seperate ID's for the divs (which dreamweaver automatically does anyway) you'll be fine.
    However if for some reason you want to put one accordion inside another like I did e.g.
    <div id="Accordion1" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    <div id="Accordion2" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion2 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion1 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 -->
    Too style Accordian 1 & 2 so their tabs both have different backgrounds and Hover background when the content panel is open and closed you have to style it in the CSS they following way;
    CSS
    #Accordion1  .AccordionPanelTab {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg.png);}
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelTabHover,
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTabHover {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg_RO.png);}
    #Accordion2  .AccordionPanelTab {
    height:44px;
    width:469px;
    background:url(../images/packages_spry.png);}
    #Accordion2 .AccordionPanelClosed .AccordionPanelTabHover,
    #Accordion2 .AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTabHover {
    height:44px;
    width:469px;
    background:url(../images/packages_spry_ro.png);}
    Normally when styling two seperate spry accordions you can just use the following code
    #Accordion1  .AccordionPanelTab {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg.png);}
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelTabHover,
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTabHover {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg_RO.png);}
    The only difference with styling a Spry accordion within another to ensure they have different hover backgrounds when the content panel is open and closed is ".AccordionPanelClosed".
    Hope this helped anyone who was having the same issue I was.

  • How to apply different styles to multiple spry collapsible panels?

    Hello every.
    I would really appreciate some help with this problem I am coming up against.
    I am creating a website which has multiple Spry collapsible panels in it. I applied the styles I wanted for the first Spry collapsible panel I did in the styles panel with no problems what so ever.
    However when I go to apply the styles I want for my second and every other Spry collapsible panel, when I applied the style I wanted it changed the first panel I did. I’ve tried giving all my collapsible panels different Div ID’s but no luck. I just can’t seem to apply different styles to each of my collapsible panels.
    Can someone please advise me how to do this?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Kind regards
    Elliot

    I've figured the most of it out.
    By giving the Spry Collapsible Panel that you want to style differently a separate ID and class and then duplicating the original Spry Collapsible Panel style in the CSS style panel on the right and renaming them the same name as the panel you want to style differently it will allow you to style it differently to all the other panels apart from the Hover.
    I've tried everything! Below is the code I'm using for the two Collapsible Panels I want to style Differently.
    I only want to have different Tab backgrounds and Hover backgrounds
    1st Spry CollapsiblePanel
    Code:
    <div id="CollapsiblePanel1" class="CollapsiblePanel">
        <div class="CollapsiblePanelTab" tabindex="0">Tab</div>
        <div class="CollapsiblePanelContent">Content</div>
    CSS Style
    .CollapsiblePanelTab
    .CollapsiblePanelTabHover, .CollapsiblePanelOpen .CollapsiblePanelTabHover
    2nd Spry CollapsiblePanel
    Code:
    <div id="CollapsiblePanel2" class="CollapsiblePanel2">
      <div class="CollapsiblePanel2Tab" tabindex="0">Tab</div>
      <div class="CollapsiblePanel2Content">Content</div>
    </div>
    .CollapsiblePanel2Tab
    .CollapsiblePanel2TabHover, .CollapsiblePanelOpen .CollapsiblePanel2TabHover
    As I said the Tab works both I have two seperate background images for the Tabs but I can only seem to have one background for the hover.
    Has anyone any ideas on how to get around this?
    Kind regards
    Elliot

  • How to apply the constraint ONLY to new rows

    Hi, Gurus:
       I have one question as follows:
       We need to migrate a legacy system to a new production server. I am required to add two columns to every table in order to record who updates the row most recently through triggers, and  I should apply not null constraint to the columns . However, since legacy system already has data for every table, and old data does not have value for the 2 new columns. If we apply the constraint, all of existing rows will raise exception. I wonder if there is possibility to apply the constraint ONLY to new rows to come in future.
    Thanks.
    Sam

       We need to migrate a legacy system to a new production server. I am required to add two columns to every table in order to record who updates the row most recently through triggers, and  I should apply not null constraint to the columns .
    The best suggestion I can give you is that you make sure management documents the name of the person that came up with that hair-brained requirement so they can be sufficiently punished in the future for the tremendous waste of human and database resources they caused for which they got virtually NOTHING in return.
    I have seen many systems over the past 25+years that have added columns such as those: CREATED_DATE, CREATED_BY, MODIFIED_DATE, MODIFIED_BY.
    I have yet to see even ONE system where that information is actually useful for any real purpose. Many systems have application/schema users and those users can modify the data. Also, any DBA can modify the data and many of them can connect as the schema owner to do that.
    Many tables also get updated by other applications or bulk load processes and those processes use generic connections that can NOT be tied back to any particular system.
    The net result is that those columns will be populated by user names that are utterly useless for any auditing purposes.
    If a user is allowed to modify a table they are allowed to modify a table. If you want to track that you should implement a proper security strategy using Oracle's AUDIT functionality.
    Cluttering up ALL, or even many, of your tables with such columns is a TERRIBLE idea. Worse is adding triggers that server no other purpose but capture useless infomation but, because they are PL/SQL cause performance impacts just aggravates the total impact.
    It is certainly appropriate to be concerned about the security and auditability of your important data. But adding columns and triggers such as those proposed is NOT the proper solution to achieve that security.
    Before your organization makes such an idiotic decision you should propose that the same steps be taken before adding that functionality that you should take before the addition of ANY MAJOR structural or application changes:
    1. document the actual requirement
    2. document and justify the business reasons for that requirement
    3. perform testing that shows the impact of that requirement on the production system
    4. determine the resource cost (people, storage, etc) of implementing that requirement
    5. demonstrate how that information will actually be used EFFECTIVELY for some business purpose
    As regards items #1 and #2 above the requirement should be stated in terms of the PROBLEM to be solved, not some preconceived notion of the solution that should be used.
    Your org should also talk to other orgs or other depts in your same org that have used your proposed solution and find out how useful it has been for them. If you do this research you will likely find that it hasn't met their needs at all.
    And in your own org there are likely some applications with tables that already have such columns. Has anyone there EVER used those columns and found them invaluable for identifying and resolving any actual problem?
    If you can't use them and their data for some important process why add them to begin with?
    IMHO it is a total waste of time and resources to add such columns to ALL of your tables. Any such approach to auditing or security should, at most, be limited to those tables with key data that needs to be protected and only then when you cannot implement the proper 'best practices' auditing.
    A migration is difficult enough without adding useless additional requirements like those. You have FAR more important things you can do with the resources you have available:
    1. Capture ALL DDL for the existing system into a version control system
    2. Train your developers on using the version control system
    3. Determining the proper configuration of the new server and system. It is almost a CERTAINTY that settings will get changed and performance will suffer even though you don't think you have changed anything at all.
    4. Validating that the data has been migrated successfully. That can involve extensive querying and comparison to make sure data has not been altered during the migration. The process of validating a SINGLE TABLE is more difficult if the table structures are not the same. And they won't be if you add two columns to every table; every single query you do will have to specify the columns by name in order to EXCLUDE your two new columns.
    5. Validating the performance of the app on the new system. There WILL BE problems where things don't work like they used to. You need to find those problems and fix them
    6. Capturing the proper statistics after the data has been migrated and all of the indexes have been rebuilt.
    7. Capturing the new execution plans to use a a baseline for when things go wrong in the future.
    If it is worth doing it is worth doing right.

    And you have two character styles, bold and italics, to map to strong and em tags respectively.
    You will see that the text appears italicized not bolded and italicized as expected. Generally, only the innermost tag will get the style and will overwrite its parent styles.
    Notice the XML is generated dynamically and tags order is not enforced. Also, there's an additional underline tag that can be nested with these two.
    So far I have tried to use GREP styles (with paragraph styles), but these do not have effect in the XML tags.
    Other possible options not tried yet:
    Create new tags for every formatting combination. Not what I really want because I could en up with a lot of tags each one with a corresponding styles.
    Create InDesign XML rules to apply character styles automatically based on the tags
    Use character styles in the XML with the aid namespace referencing InDesign styles. Will this really work?
    What do you suggest to go for? See any other option?
    Thank you in advance.
    Juan

    I'd say that you should create tags not for appearances, but for semantic content. Specifying formatting styles in your XML betrays your lack of familiarity with the format, because the last thing you'd want to do would be to use HTML markup in the middle of your XML. If you have content that's supposed to be both bolface and oblique - say, a warning - then it's marked up as
    <warning>Never refer directly to formatting in your XML markup, only to content types!</warning>
    If I had a document that was written in the style you suggest - one with lots of overlapping local formatting - I'd look at developing a better style guide that told the writers that doing so would be bad form. Because, you know, many of the writers I deal with are addicted to forms of emphasis that do nothing useful whatsover for their readership - they only serve to overemphasize the authorial voice of the writers.
    Maybe you could tell us why you need these overlapping forms of styling, and we could suggest other InDesign formatting tools (like line styles or nested styles) that would help you get the appearance you want without crowding styling markup into your XML - where, strictly speaking, it doesn't really belong.

  • How to apply different styles to Portlets on the same Portal page?

    How do you apply different styles to Portlets on the same Portal page?
    I'm new to this kind of thing, but understand that something called "cascading style sheets" can help here?
    What are these, how do you use them, and can you make different Portlets (all types - PL/SQL, Java, Applications, etc) on the same Portal page have different styles assigned?
    Thanks!

    Jeff,
    Apply Oracle Portal styles at the region level. Your portlets within each region will inherit the style defined for the region.
    You may want to check out Report #40050 at portalcenter.oracle.com, "Design an Attractive and Compelling Portal Interface" for a good overview of the various design features of Oracle Portal.

  • How to apply CSS style values to h:messages ?

    Hi Folks,
    I'm quite new to JSF development. What I'm currently trying to do, is to apply a CSS style for a <h:messages> tag:
    <h:messages globalOnly="true" style="color: red;" layout="table" />Unfortunately the style "color: red;" is not being applied to the generated HTML table (or list):
    <table>
       <tr>
          <td>My Error Message!</td>
       </tr>
    </table>But I assume the generated HTML should rather look something like this:
    <table style="color: red;">
       <tr>
          <td>My Error Message!</td>
       </tr>
    </table>I'm using MyFaces 1.1.3 with Tomcat 5.5. Is this maybe a bug in MyFaces?
    Salute

    We speak HTML here.
    Let's see what you have tried so far, please.

  • How to apply effects to only a portion of a track?

    I recorded drums through a presonus firepod audio interface and my 2,16Ghz MacBook Pro on 4 different tracks.
    There are some parts on the tracks where i'd like to apply some effects (like am radio kind of effects) but i can't seem to apply it on only the selected part. It seems to apply to the whole track...
    Anyone wants to tell me how to do that?

    To further expand on John's advice...
    One way to do this with automation, is to send the outputs of your drum tracks to an Aux. Then set that Aux track as an input to another Aux track.
    Put the radio effect plug-in on that second aux track, and mute it.
    Using automation, you leave the first Aux track unmuted for the majority of the song, but when that section comes up, you unmute the second aux track, while you mute the first aux track. After the section passes, revert the mute status back to the way it was originally.
    Using automation, you can fine tune this so it becomes seamless...
    Just one of many ways to skin this proverbial cat...

  • Help, how to apply multiple style to a component

    In HTML we can write class="styleA styleB" to apply multiple
    style, but it's not allowed in flex3.
    So is there a way to walk around? like
    .styleB{
    //include styleA
    }

    You have to combine all songs into one file by using software, for example Audacity.
    PS: I owe this knowledge to a post by Victoria Bampton.

  • How do I count the number of cells with a particular text in it?

    I have a column with peoples name in each cell. I want to count the numbe rof times a persons name appears in the column. How do I do this? any help would be great ! thanks in advance.

    Hi Evilhomer,
    The function COUNTIF will do this. Here are two Tables on one sheet. Table 1 contains names in Column B.
    Table 2 contains the names once only (in any order) in Column A, with a COUNTIF formula in Column B to count how many times a name occurs in Table 1.
    The formula in Sheet 2, Cell B2 is:
    =COUNTIF(Table 1 :: B2:B5,A2)
    Enter the formula in B2 then copy down.
    It is easier to create the two tables on one sheet. If you then want to move a table to another sheet, Numbers will convert the formulas to keep the references valid.
    There are other ways to do what you want. Please reply if this is not what you want.
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • Apply grep style only once

    I can't get my brain around what is probably a very simple problem: I want a paragraph style that applies boldfacing to any character up to an including the first colon in a paragraph. If I used  a nested style "through 1 :" the whole graf is bold if there is no colon. So that's out.
    A grep style ".+: " seems to work in most cases, but if there's a second colon, the boldfacing is extended to that point. What I think I want is a grep style that works "zero or 1 times" but I cannot figure out how to use the ? to make that happen.

    @Jongware – I think Robert wants to limit the GREP style to the first line of a paragraph.
    But unfortunately GREP in InDesign does not know about line endings.
    In scripting we could do something like what he wants, but comes with some obstacles, because the GREP will apply a character style, that will probably change the line ending. A very dynamic situation…
    Example 1
    Basic situation:
    This is my text here comes the colon: and
    here another one: that Robert don't like
    to take into account using the GREP style.
    Formatted after  the GREP style is applied:
    This is my text here comes the colon: and
    here another one: that Robert don't like
    to take into account using the GREP style.
    As I understand it, in case that the first colon will leave line one, only the first line should be formatted like this:
    (Case 1)
    This is my text here comes the first
    colon: and here another one: that
    Robert don't like to take into account
    using the GREP style.
    Or should it be, that the style should only be applied, if it's in the first line?
    (Case 2):
    This is my text here comes the first
    colon: and here another one: that
    Robert don't like to take into account
    using the GREP style.
    But what, if the colon in the basic case is at the end of line 1 and will be shifted to line 2 after formatting?
    What should happen then?
    That is simply not possible to format automatically (dynamically) using GREP styles in InDesign.
    Uwe

  • How to apply Layer Styles?

    I'd like to apply do an "Add Layer Style"/"Stroke" on the active document layer. I can't find any more documentation on how to do this than:
    applyStyle (styleName)
    string Applies the specified style to the
    layer.
    Note: You must use a style from
    the Styles list in the Layer
    Style dialog.
    What would the styleName string be for a stroke? How would I specify color, size, and "position"?
    Frankly, I'm not even sure this is the right command... Thanks.

    Hello fellow members,
    I am a beginner on photoshop and was after a specific action. I want to create a photo that has been taken in colour, convert it to black and white, but have one specific item in the picture in colour eg a bunch of flowers or lips or eyes. I have been told it is something to do with layers, but this is not helpful to me. Can anyone help with some (simple) instructions as to how I can acheive this.
    Thanks, anita
