i have 100 reports in webintelligence documents,
then i have to add company log for that all 100 existing repots.
how this possible in one time .
cleary my query is i have to apply template for existed webintelligence report at time for 100 repotrs
this is possible in BO xi r2 webi....

If you have 100 reports and each report needs a company logo on it, then you will have to modify each report, create a blank cell, populate that blank cell with an http://<yourserver>/images/my_co_logo.gif verbiage, mark that cell as "read as HTML", save the report, and then go to the next report and do it again (99 more times). I think what you are asking is if it is possible to make BOE assemble an "automatic header" (one that you've re-optioned") so that as each report runs it gets "branded". The answer, unfortunately, is that you can't make it work that way, each report must be individually endowed. Good Luck!

We are using Veristand 2011.When we run any sequence in stimulus profle editor,we get test results in form of ATML file.
We want to customise the template for this test result generation as per our requirement.
For example:
Test case No.: Description of test case.
Objectives: Explanation of objectives.
Result: Passed/ Failed.
Graph: If any.
Please suggest how to do this.

You cant really change too much in the report, you can customize TRML.xsl which is created every time in the Test Results\UUT 1 folder and that would give you some flexibility on what is shown. I dont know what a xsl is actually able to do in terms of composing data from multiple files (if at all possible) but it definitely allows you to change the visual format of the existing xml data.
Otherwise I modified the xsl to customize the look of the xml report when opened in a browser to have less clutter and some coloring on the Pass/Fail but, the reports are XML files anyway so it's easy to extract data out of them and you can probably write your own report creation tool to compose the report in whatever format you like.

Hello,
Please help, i need to know if CR have an ability to do the following:
-Create a new template (I know I can do that)
-Apply this template to existing reports
-Make changes to that tempate and as a result of that change all reports that this template is apply to would change.

Once your report is open, you apply a template to it by using the menu item "Report > Template Expert".
Then choose a template, making sure "Apply a new Template" is selected, and click OK.
Unfortunately it is not possible to update all reports which were based on a template automatically. The closest to this would be using Repository Objects. These are centrally stored items such as images, text objects, functions (logos, headers, etc.), which can be updated centrally. All changes can be be propagated to reports containing those objects.
More information on this can be found in "Help > Crystal Reports Help", search for "Repository" in the index. Please note you will need access to a Crystal Reports Server or BusinessObjects Enterprise to use the Repository.

How to edit template for report broadcast

Hi,
my client publish the report thru information broadcast in PDF.
The report show the dynamic selection and variable selection information at the top of the report content and they want to remove it as it consume half page for this.
How can go to the report template they are using ? I see it has the company logo on page header so i guess it was already modified somewhere but I don't find this in SPRO...the fields there is blank.

Regretfully, you are correct that they have probably created a copy of one of the standard WAD templates that control the PDF print out - if it was a standard template you could go into the WAD and just do a search on anything starting with 0* and you would see something like QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING70 - or one similar.
but what you will need to do now is find that template that is being used - it may be that they altered the standard 0 template - go review that first. If you find that template you will see that it will have some web items that you can change or adjust - this is where you will be able to alter the format.
either remove or filter those web items that you need changed on the PDF file print out.

How can I overwrite existing reports with Publish Wizard?

Hi,
I uploaded a lot of reports to the Crystal Reports Server 2008 CMS using the Publish Wizard. Now, when I upload changed reports again, the Publish Wizard does not overwrite the existing reports. Instead it renames the new report as "<Name> (2)".
Is there an option ot overwrite the existing report based on the report name, ideally keeping the CID?

Hi Jorn,
There is no option to overwrite the destination content, if you want to do that a better tool would be the Import Wizard.
Using the Import Wizard you could specify how you want the imported report being to be treated in instances where it exists also on the Destination system.
From the Import Wizard Guide:
"...you have two options to identify the object and determine if the object already exists on the destination environment:
1. Use the source object's unique identifier (CUID).
2. Use the source object's name and path.
You must decide how you would like the Import Wizard to handle scenarios where the objects already exist on the destination environment."

I have to create 20 reports in report Designer and each one of them have same header, footer and column fields.

If you know the name of the query/view and workbook in Bex you could also search with user ID, Date the report is modified and so on.

How to apply Template to added Page?

I am building a multi-page InDesign document with scripting and each page has a different template. Obviously, getting the first page set-up with the template is a snap as you just open the template, but when I add the next page using: app.activeDocument.pages.add() how would I apply a new template for this 2nd page in the document?

It's possible to make page items or regions conditional on the page not being a page number that you specify.
Head to your page 0, and look for the relevant item in your conditionals list. Select it and specify your login page number in there and all should be well!

Custom reports / edit existing reports

I would like to edit some existing reports in Service Desk. Many report do what I'm looking for except for one thing. All 'closed reports' report the closed/resolved step in the workflow. We have a validation step on which I would like to report. How can I edit existing reports to match this? We are currently running 6.2 but can upgrade to 6.5 if needed.
With the report builder in 6.5 is it possible to edit these reports without having to make them from scratch?

Do you see any error when you run the ETL, i.e. the Java ETL embedded with the app server?

How to customize an interactive report PDF using a BI Publisher template

Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to get an interactive report to work with BI Publisher. I want it so that I can create a custom RTF template with custom headings, and then apply this for the interactive report.
On the front end, when a user runs an interactive report, they are able to hide and show columns, and then click on Actions > Download > PDF. I want this to access the custom template and return a PDF based on this template, and also showing the columns that the user has selected in the interactive report.
I have already created a custom RTF Word Doc in BI Publisher, and have uploaded it into a report query created in Apex. I am not sure though how to apply this report query to an interactive report, or if that’s even what I’m supposed to do to get it to work the way I want it to.
When editing the Report Attributes, under Print Attributes, there is a section called Printing.
Under this, there is a "Print Server Overwrite". I thought this is where you can specify your report query. But I am not sure if I even need a report query because I don't understand why you have a report query that is based on a static query, when in an Interactive Report, the user can hide columns.
I have Apex 4.0.1.00.03 and Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.0d installed.

Hi Gage,
Custom RTF and XSL-FO templates are currently only supported with classic report regions and report queries, but not with interactive reports. So you would need to create a report query based on the SQL statement you used for your interactive report and then associated your template with that report query. Unfortunately you won't be able to use any of your customizations, filters, or column selections this way. We're planing to support report layouts with interactive reports in the future.
