How to arrange pictures other than by date

How to arrange pictures other than by date

You can select a folder of images or a batch and create an album. You can then drag the photos around and they remain fixed in your chosen order within the album.
Also if you switch from thumbnail view (click the display button near top right in Organizer) to Folder Location view and select an individual folder from the left hand pane, the files will usually be displayed in file name order.

Does iTunes offer a restore from other than current data on my pc?  I've lost all my pictures because of lack of disk space on my pc.

Are you talking about restore of the iPhone from its backup, or something else? The first time you sync an iOS device on each calendar day iTunes will update the backup set for the device. If you remove data from the device and backup, then the backup of that data has gone. For this reason it actually makes sense to restore an iOS device periodically as, once used for a restore, the backup set is archived and a new one created.
Ideally you would have backed up these pictures somewhere. If you enabled it, you may find pictures in your Photo Stream.
In general you need to keep a backup copy of all your important files. iTunes will let you download most past purchases from the store but backing up other content is down to you. The user  Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy suggests a way to do this for iTunes, but the same tool can be used to preserve other folders of data.

  • Can LSMW upload data other than Master Data

    Dear Friends,
Can LSMW upload data other than Master Data, e.g. Want to upload the Vendor Invoice line items with single Debit and multiple Credit line items are there and also more than one GL a/c are involved.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Mahendra Dev

    The answer is YES.
There is no issue issue if you have different GL account.
The issue is if you have multiple line item (which are differeing in each entry).
For this, if you want to use LSMW, check for program, but not the recording method option.

I have Airport Extreme as the base unit and an Express unit in a room separated by a brick wall to improve signal. Express shows a green light indicating signal but my iPad does not perform well. How can I improve other than hardwire ethernet connection?

Other suggestions, and more info about the nature of the problem, may be in this Apple tech note.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1365
For example, you might find that the brick wall is not the only problem. There may be other devices pumping out enough wireless interference to be making things even worse.
I agree with Bob Timmons that Ethernet is best and most reliable. And that powerline (which I use) is easier and potentially faster than wireless...but only if your power lines do not have electrical devices plugged in which produce electrical noise on the line. Powerline will be slower than Gigabit Ethernet.
Ethernet cable is the only way to ensure that the signal goes directly there in a shielded way for a clear fast signal. Wireless and powerline are much slower because of all the other things the signal has to fight past to get to the other device.

  • How can Photo's be sorted other than by date taken?

Is there a way to sort Photo's on my iPad 2 other than the standard Apple method (date taken). .??

Once you have all 500 in the album you should be able to use the dropdown menu - there are three choices. Try switching to oldest first. Album order lets you drag into any order of your choice and they remain in fixed positions.

  • HDV Workflow -- What's wrong with this picture (other than some obvious)

    Hi Powerusers,
I have a client with a canon XH-A1, they are ingesting via iMovie HD, cutting a rough timeline in iMovie, and then porting to FCP (via drag and drop) for me to finish on. Seems plausible all editing via AIC (apple intermediate codec). Final destination will be SD DVD, WEB, Handheld media, etc. Am I missing something or is this somewhat acceptable (other than loss of timecode) which they aren't concerned about since it's pretty lo-budget.
Is editing using the AIC horrible (picture looks acceptable). I'm not used to this workflow. I work in DV, SD or DVCPROHD codecs/timelines but am baffled by not being able to ingest directly from Final Cut with this Canon HDV camera, but iMovie has that flexibility (view, start, stop, import) whereas I'm not getting any options other than capture now with FCP.
    Thoughts, criticisms, advice greatly appreciated.
    cheers

I ended up capturing via FCP using HDV1080i60 easy setup with capture setting working with both Sony HDV over firewire and HDV Firewire Basic.
Seems like all is working well using this setup. It's far more than the client needs as we'll be downconverting the timeline to SD once complete, but good enough now for edit. HDV is not fun to work with I'll tell ya. Still having some errors with log and capture.

  • How to create user other than 'sa' to connect database server in SAP SBO

I want to ask how the step for create user other than 'sa' to connect database server in SAP SBO? Until now I use 'sa' (default) for connect to database server in SAP SBO application.
    Can I do that?

You may create multiple SQL users to give full right to B1 database instead of using 'sa' user.
However, the preferred way would be by Use Trusted connection when you set the connection to SQL Server. In this way, you just need one more user for SQL.  A group of window users could use this SQL access to connect database server.

  • HT4221 iPad picture sort, other than by date, for PC users

I have a PC and name the pictures in the order I want them to appear, such as "name_001" etc, however the iPad and iPhone sorts them by date taken,  Any ideas on to get them in name order.  If not Apple should make a change to iOS to allow such sorting.

Well for sure I would not suggest emailing Apple feedback, you lose credibility right there. If you look at the history of this issue, it's clear Apple has no intention of doing anything except sorting by date taken.
The issue here is not just about correct sorting on one device, but also having a central repository for a photo library that can sync (with one click) across all devices. Jeffrey no doubt does what many of us do, take photos with his iphone and puts them on his ipad. Can you imagine all the work that would be to manage this manually? Yuck. Uploading to Dropbox is the obvious answer but that only works when we're online; also, sending photos to Dropbox vis iOS changes the filename to a date. Photo Manager Pro does not sync, it can only download/upload manually. Stash Pro is a great app because it can download from and send to Dropbox, but again, no sync so it would again be very manual.
The only app I found which solves the sort issue and can do the 1-button/2-way sync to Dropbox outside of iTunes is GoodReader. Unfortunately it's not a true photo manager/editor app, and the thumbnail view is so-so. But it does solve those two issues very well. So the process in this situation is, take photo, import to GoodReader, then 1-button sync to Dropbox (or any of the other cloud services GoodReader supports).
It is surprising that none of the better photo management apps have this sync feature. If anyone out there finds one that can, please let me know.

  • How can I have more than one data schema on a page?

    Hi!
I am a newbie, just discovering the joys of Spry!
On this page: http://www.bodyoftruth.com/about_body_of_truth_bu_doug.htm I have successfully created a photo gallery.
My question is: how can I add another one underneath of it? I want to duplicate what I have done by adding another gallery using different images.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Jan

    Sure.
Create another data set with a different name. If you use Dreamweaver, which you obviously do, it will create a dataset with a new name, likely 'ds2'.
When you make spry regions, use the ds2 name and it will be completely independent of the first gallery. You will just need a separate XML file for the data.
    Hope this helps.

  • I need to graph data and stack the plots to create 3 graphs, how do I plot more than 1 data line on each graph

I currently use a code heavy solution thats clunky and need to refine the graphing part. For simplicity I want to use the waveform chart and its "Stack Plots" option. However I cannot see how to collect 2 or 3 data streams and display them on 1 of the stacked plots.
The final verson will have 3 stacked plots, the top plots needs 3 data streams, The middle & bottom plots require 2 data streams.
    Help Appreciated

    Hi,
Sometimes the Synchronous Display option makes a difference (right
mouse>advanced>Synchronous Display). Or while running, right click>Smooth
Updates. Fiddle around with them, sometimes unexpected settings has the best
    performance (only four combinations anyway).

  • How to use FileDescriptors other than in out and err?

I have a Unix process I am shelling out to using runTime.exec(command) which requires two input streams and two output streams (file descriptors). How can I do this in java when there is only in, out and err available without using physical files.
For information the process is GnuPG (GPG) and the command line will be something like:
    ./gpg command-fd 98 status-fd 2 -o- --decrypt
This uses standard in for the encrypted file content and std out for the decrypted data. The command (98) and status(2) file descriptors are for sending and receiving command messages. Note that 98 is an arbitary number.

    What about FIFO's (named pipes)?

  • How to make things other than text hyperlinks

I was looking to make a group of pictures link to some bookmarks but have so far failed. While making a simple box then filling the background with an image, then filling the box with space characters and then selecting the spaces to link to a bookmark, works in iBook Author,
it does not do so when I preview, or export to iTunes.
I'm using an iPad 3/new ipad. Any help in creating images that act as hyperlinks would be grand!
Also while some links work in landscape somehow the link gets messed up and no longer works in portrait orientation.
I miss the days where you could run over to your apple store and have your questions answered, I thought maybe a genius would help, but alas this a new age and they don't know s**t
In short, is the only way to link to bookmarks through simple text?

See 'How to link an image' in iBA Tips and Tricks 01..
As for portrait....layout in landscape, edit in portrait. Duplicate where needed to make portrait work as required.

  • How to delete albums other than camera album on iphone 4?

I can't delete photos directly from iphone, how to do that?

Since this is a user to user help forum only, no one here knows. If to be included with the next firmware update and a fellow user is privileged to this info in advance, they aren't allowed to say.
If you didn't want a photo or photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone in the first place, why did you transfer the photo or photos? And since you should be syncing your iPhone with iTunes often, what difference does it make? If you need space on your iPhone for some reason, you can delete a movie direct from your iPhond that was transferred from your iTunes library to free up much more space with a single swipe than a few photos that you chose to be transferred from your computer.

  • My husband and I both have Macbook pros, can we both back up to the same TC?  I have noticed a bunch of his files on my computer and I am not sure how they got there other than from the TC, Suggestions or advice helpful.

I am new at posting here also, so pls forgive me in advance.  My husband and I have been backing up our Macbook Pros to the same Time Capsule, should we not be doing this?  If we should not, what would you recommend?  I recently got the message that my drive was almost full and so I started to delete misc items from my downloads folder and I found a bunch of my husbands records that got downloaded to my Macbook, could this be because we both backed up to the TC?  If it is not, do you have any ideas what may have caused this?  THX

Horrible idea, youre building a 2X tragedy ready to bite BOTH of you.
Its bad enough for one person to do that, but 2X for two people to do same.
Hard drives aren't prone to failure…hard drives are guaranteed to fail
Methodology to protect your data. Backups vs. Archives. Long-term data protection
    Data redundancy begins at...
    1. All data on the computer is just that, your data.
    2. All data on the first external HD is your backup.
    3. Only the second external HD is your first safe data redundancy.
Protected data redundancy begins at the second external copy due to:
    1. It not being connected. Any drive connected, backup or otherwise, is not to be considered a safe data redundancy.
    2. Being the backup failsafe to the first external HD, not to the data on the computer which never should be counted in terms of data protection as "a copy".
    3. External drives will invariably fail, and since most people falsely believe their external HD is their "safety", this error of perspective must be countered by yet another external copy of ones data.
Ones vital data must always be considered wholly independent and irrelevant of any data on the computer itself. Failure to look at one data in this matter is a failure which often can and does culminate in data loss.
