How to assemble short .aiff segments

I have a group of 25 min speeches, each recorded in about 30 short .aiff segments. I want to assemble the segments of each speech in order and save that in iTunes.
I was thinking of doing this by assembling them in QT Pro, then exporting the result as mp3. But I cannot see how to import the segments into QT Pro except one by one, and this will take a long time.
Question 1: Is there a way for me to import all segments (they are numbered) intro QT Pro at once?
Question 2: If not, any other suggestions for quickly putting together the segments?

No. QT 7 Pro would force you to add each files individually to the target player.

You have several options here.
1) You could simply create a "Playlist" or "AudioBook" in iTunes.
2) If, as you seem to indicate, the files are already named alpha-numerically, then all AIF files could be simultaneously "drag 'n dropped" to an app like the free MPEG Streamclip utility. This will automatically sequence the files in their alpha-numeric name order and allow you to use the "Save As..." file option to save the merged filles as a single, standalone AIF file.
3) If you really want to get fancy, you could also use GarageBand to create a "podcast" type file (with one or more images) and/or a "chaptered" file allowing you to "jump" to any specific merged segment in any "general" media player.
As I say, there are many, many options here depending on how you plan to store, manage, and/or play the final content. In any case, this should give you plenty to think about while you decide on a final solution to your particular needs.
