HOW TO ASSIGN A USER TO PFCG

Hello all Guru's,
Good Evening,
can u tell me how to use pfcg role maint, as i had configured a REL. STR for myself , all things done , in the last i had done - CL24N i.e to assign object / classes , & then i had made a P.O , after that i had released it as rel str was triggering but i have not performed any role maint. kindly tell me if i have not been assigned to this r. st what i have to do so as to assign myself in PFCG. i want to know the importance of PFCG.

Hi km,
PFCG is used for new role creation using grouping of authorization objects
and assigning it to user id
If you know the role you put the role name and select display it will take you the next screen there you can assign your user id in user tab and select compare
and complete comparison
If you want to see the objects go to authorization tab and select display option there you will see al authorization objects you can select display change authority with the indicator beside each role
Remember to regenerate with regenerate tab the role when you make any changes
If you don't know the roles on inital screen of pfcg you can select where used button and put the transaction it will display you all the roles in which that particular transaction authorization is used

Help Pls: how to assign a user form to a non active sync resource adapter

I need to implement a non active sync resource adapter, such as oracle database or RACF. When a user is assigned a resource by IdM, an account is created on that resource. I want to transform some attributes during the creation, such as pre-padding the accountId with a letter and zeros. My questions are:
1) I think attribute transformation should be accomplished by user form. is it correct? How do I assign the user form to the non active sync resource?
2) What workflow/userform should I change to accomplish that?

A cleaner option would be to
1. Create a custom form, which could be derived from the Tabbed User Form.
2. Create a delegated admin, with account administrator capabilities at the minimum, and required controlled organization, and assign the above form to this delegated admin -- this is on the same page.
3. Use this form to create IDs on the specific resource.
Now in this custom form you could have the logic on how to create the ID in the specific resource. In fact you could have different logic for different resource. Check the tech deployment guide for the exact syntax, but the field might be:
account[Res_Name].identity
Note that this setting would override the 'Identity Template' setting as defined in the RA configuration.
And BTW, it would really help if you readup the 'Forms' section in the guide.

How does one assign a user to several groups?

I am a student learning Databases, Oracle to be exact, and am trying to install a developer's copy on my MAC G4 running OS X 10.4.11. To do this I need to assign user oracle to several user groups. Trouble is, although I know UNIX fairly well I don't know Sys Adim commands well at all. Can am one help with this one?

In the User Administration section of your portal find your newly created user and below select "Assigned Roles" tab then press <Modify> button and look through available roles on portal then just simply add and save. But if you want to do it programmatically see below:

IUserAccount user = (IUserAccount) i.next();
Execute the same search for IRole (or IGroup if needed) get the unique id of them and use newRole(...) and addUserToRole(...) methods from IRoleFactory.
Of course you don't need search for this principals if you know uniqueness of them. Use appropriate factories to get'em all by this unique id.

Roles are decided by IT managers. Suppose if Persons who are working in shopfloor or production side
give authorization to Production order create , change and Confirm like that etc
1. In role maintenance (transaction PFCG), choose the Authorizations tab page.
2. To change the authorization data for the transactions assigned to the role, choose Change Authorization Data or Expert Mode for Profile Generation. Otherwise, a dialog box appears in expert mode (see Regenerating an Authorization Profile After Changes).

Hi Venkat,
When you create authorization object in RSSM you only assign info object.
How did you assign respective values?
once your authorization object is saved you should find it in PFCG. even if you go to expert mode for profile generation
Check tecnical name.
Alternatively instead of inserting manually go to selection criteria and the system will display all active authorization objects and you can choose your object.

Maintain authorization key (authorization code) in status profile.
We do not assign directly to user. We assign to role E.g sales manager / sales employee etc...
We assign T.codes to role and assign role to user.
Goto Role T.code PFCG. Enter role and click on change button.Goto Authorizations tab.
Click on authorization data .
Expand the Cross-application Authorization Objects tree. Expand Status Management: Set/Delete User Status using Transaction.
Click on Authorization key button, assign Authorization key.
Click on status profile. assign status profile.

As explained by Lauren, you have to use PFCG transaction. Via Authorization tab, you can maintain transaction authorized for your role.
