How to assign profiles at user level ?

hello every body.....i have created 2 users say x , y
and i have assigned them general ledger responsibilty.....
.at site level profile Gl set of books name is vision operation..
.now i have assigned Gl set of books profile to user x at user level
as vision china...and to user y as vision germany.....when i login with
different user name with gl responsibilty ......after navigating
to----journal-->enter--->new journal----for both users iam getting the
same currency which is at sit level...i thought for x user the currency
will be china currency
and for y user it will be germany curreny which i hav assigned at user level....
please help me regarding this.......

getting the currency code of site level ?Did you user to logout and login again after setting the profile option at the user level?
What if you set this profile option at the site/application/responsibility level, can you reproduce the issue then?

Hello Friends,
Can anyone send me step by step process documentation on how to mitigating control at user levels? I have already run the risk analysis ( Global Conflict roles analysis/risk analysis). So I do have all detail information like control ID , management approver and description,etc.

Hi,
Please follow the below steps to mitigate user.
1. once you get the all details ( Mitigation control id, approver id and Monitor id), then select/click on the RAR Mitigation tab-> click on the Mitigated User option->search.
There is one page is open and then click on ADD button at the bottom of the screen. once you click on add option it will ask the Mitigation control id, user id, Risk id etc... once filled the all required filelds and save. Now successfully applied the moitihation control to the particler user.

HR: Security Profile at User Level

Hi
As HR: Security Profile is not enabled for user level, but sometime we need it for some users. Workaround is set up a different responsibility for the same.
Also We can go to Application Developer Responsibility and set enable user level for HR: Security Profile option. Is it Ok to do it or this may break the system at some point.
Suggestions Please.

I am not an expert in this area, but I do not think enabling the profile at the user level will cause any issues. In our site, what we have done is to create a security profile specific to that user and assigned it in the HR module (not sure of the specifics, but I can find out if you are interested) - we did not enable the profile option at the user level as you are wanting to do. SR can provide you with another opinion :-)

i got one bapi BAPI_USER_ACTGROUPS_ASSIGN, this bapi does work...
but actually deletes previous roles and then assign new one.
is there any fm which will add role to user without deleting existing role.

I am working on fault handler framework in SOA composite. In fault-policies.xml, there is option to assign it for human intervention if any fault has been occured using below tag
<Action id="ora-human-intervention">
<humanIntervention/>
</Action>
But here there is no option, to which user you want to assign it. By default it is assigning to weblogic user(Administrator). Is there any way to assign it on run time. Means for some exceptions i want to assign it to user A and for some other i want to assign it to User B. Fault handler user names will be available in My bepl process.

I think that ora-human-intervention is at the Enterprise Manager level.
So even if u want to assign it to an specific user, u will still need to enter to the EM, and manage the manual recovery from there. IS that what u r looking for?
Or u are expecting a user to enter to the Worklist and manage this type of errors from there?

By default the role WSNavigatorRole is assigned to the group "Administrators". But our requirement is to assign this role to few individual users along with the administrators of the system. For this we tried to configure the Portal settings for the WSNavigatorRole in Visual Admin tool.
While doing so, we found that we can only provide the WSNavigatorRole to any one of the Pre-defined Security Roles and their associated groups and cannot assign specifi users for this role.
Can anyone please tell me how to assign the WSNavigatorRole to few specific users in Portal ?

Screens variants are generally used in simplifying the screens.
When you run a transaction you can provide values to fields in advance.
Or, you can hide and change the ready-for-input status of fields
A screen variant can hold field values and properties for a single screen. You can assign screen variants to transaction variants. For this you use SHD0 transaction.
For example, you want to permit certain users to view blocked invoices, but you do not want them to release. There is a transaction MRBR that shows all the blocked invoices, but this transasction also shows gives options and icons to permit release.
In order to remove such option of release together with that icon, you can create screen variant and assign to this transaction MRBR. In this screen variant you hide the option of release. The screen variant can be assigned to those users.
Field Status variants (FSV)are associated, generally with the GL accounts where control which field to be displayed, available for change etc when that GL is called.
FSVs are not available for any screen. Screen variant are available for all screens and transaction.

Roaming Profile at User level simply not copying...no error

Little rusty on setting this up but if I recall if I choose to setup roaming profiles at the user object level then I simply need to create a share with the appropriate share/NTFS permissions then assign the UNC path in the Profile tab in ADUC? We
are running Win 2008 R2 with Win 7 SP1 clients.
If this is correct then I have done this and the profile will simply not roam...no errors in event log, the test user simply logs in and has a normal local profile. While I am logged in as this user I can access the above UNC and create a folder so
I think permissions are ok.
Originally this computer and test user were in an OU where I set a GPO setting up Folder Redirection. Thinking that I possibly configured something incorrectly there I moved the user and computer object to a basic OU where only the default domain policy
is applied. No change.
I don't remember getting this part working to be such a hassle so I am at a loss now how to troubleshoot further.

Since Roaming Profile doesn’t work correctly, and you could not find any error in the event logs. At this time, I suggest you’d better first check for the correct permissions on the profile
share. In addition to logging events in the Application Event log, User Profiles can provide a detailed log to aid troubleshooting. To create a detailed log file for user profiles:
1. Start regedit and locate the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
2. Create a new value called UserEnvDebugLevel as a REG_DWORD, and set the value to 30002 in hexadecimal format.
The log file can be found at: %windir%\debug\usermode\userenv.log

I have created a group( Say BO User) BOE XI 3.0. Then I have created a user(User A). I have add this user A to BO User group.
I have some reports in one folder(Say BO Reports) of CMC.
Now i want that all user of this BO User group can access this folder in infoview.

I would like to suggest following things:
1) Log in to CMC using Enterprise Administrator.
2) Please go to Folders >> Click on the "All Folders" >> Click on Manage >> Top-Level Security >> All Folders.
3) Please add "BO Users" in the security list of "All Folders".Then grant right "View Objects" only to object and uncheck the box
subobject for this right.
4) Now come BO Reports folder >> Right Click on this folder >> Click on User Security >> Add BO User group to this folder's
security list.
5) Grant right "View Objects" to this group over the BO Reports folder for object and subobject. Keep the boxex for object,sub
object selected.
You would achieve the required result.

How to assign roles to users using WL api?

We have a requirement to allow creation of new users through application screens and assign groups and roles to those users.
My users will exist in external LDAP server while my groups and roles will exist in embedded LDAP server. Using WL APIs i am able to create users and add them to groups using the code peices given below:

How do i assign roles to this new user programatically?
If i add a role from console (Home > Realm Roles > Summary of Security Realms > myrealm > Realm Roles -> Global Roles) and edit role condition to add this newly created user then i it works fine. I want to achieve the same i.e. edit role condition programatically.

Problem Solved !!!
The data-type conversion needs to be performed in the SPML2 Person Form. Add a Field called waveset.roles and map it to the SPML2 attribute name being used in ur client. It's best done through a rule.....

It is not possible to assign an iView directly to a user. Only roles can be attached to users. This can be done by going to User administration on the Portal.
Select the user name using the search functionality, navigate to 'Assigned roles' and attach the same there.
Conversely, it is also possible to search for the role name and navigate to 'Assigned users' and attach the user there.
