How to assign Surround output to stereo track

Question says it. Does anyone know how to do this?

Right, it doesn't change in the Inspector as well.
Here's what I did. I had just installed Logic for the first time yesterday. I have an 828MKIII as my i/o. That was already set under Core Audio output. I created a new project and chose the empty project from templates. I then chose 1 audio track from the next dialog. I tried from there to choose a surround output, but it would only let me choose from a set of stereo outputs, i.e., Output 9-10 which is the 828's Main Out 1-2. So I chose that.
At that point, I tried to change it from both the fader and the inspector, to no avail.
EDITED: Spoke too soon. I recreated the project from scratch and I must have done something different the first time, because this time, from the inspector, I was able to choose surround.
So thanks, guys

  • How to assign an output type to a document via ABAP

    Hello Guru's
    I have an interface with a 3rd party system to send information from deliveries. When a delivery is created, we trigger output with 'Post goods issue' and output triggers the interface.
    We need to also trigger output with 'reverse goods issue' and here is the problem. When GI is cancelled I don't know how to trigger the interface having the control from Sales not from MM.
    I'm thinking to use the same approach assigning an output to the delivery in a user-exit of GI cancellation process. But I don't know how to assign this output to a delivery document using ABAP. I have looked for BAPI's or Functions but no successful.
    - Do you know how to assign outputs to documents via ABAP?
    - Do you have any other idea to trigger the interface when GI is cancelled?
    Thank you in advance,
    Manuel

  • How to create 5.1 from stereo tracks

    So here's the instructions I was able to find to use Waves UM plugin, which creates 5.1 surround output from a standard stereo track in Logic:
    1. Place your stereo file on a stereo track.
    2. Assign its output to the surround output or bus as required.
    3. From the Insert menu, choose UM226.
    *Please note that Logic must be set to Universal Track Mode - On
    The problem is, this is my very first project in Logic, and I have no idea how to do step 2. Can someone give a total n00b a step by step?
    Thanks.

    Here's a quick and dirty way to surroundize a mix, but you have to be careful and monitor it properly and check for stereo/mono compatibility since that's how lots of people will hear it.
    Take your stereo mix and change the panner to a 5.1 panner.
    Change the panning so that some center channel gets filled in like so
    !http://www.rdiv.com/screenshots/STP_51pannerFront.jpg!
    Then add a buss with a (let's say) Platinum reverb. Add a send to your stereo channel that feeds this buss. You should have a setup something like this.
    !http://www.rdiv.com/screenshots/STP_surroundized.jpg!
    Change the buss panner to 5.1 and shift it to the rear a bit.
    !http://www.rdiv.com/screenshots/STP_51pannerRear.jpg!
    Oh did I add that you need to monitor this properly and check for how it will downmix back to stereo and mono? Keep the reverb tasteful and short decay so that it doesn't make them sound like there in the bowels of the titanic.
    There's also the better way to do it, with [TC Unwrap|http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/UnwrapP>, however it's only available for Protools TDM or PowerCore.

  • How to convert surround back to stereo?

    I've got into a problem with surround sound. One track from the loops library is in surround format and this seems to make it impossible to insert mastering fx in the normal way on the Out 1&2 tracks? (The insert slots have simply disappeared.)
    Can anyone enlighten? How does a surround sound get converted back to normal stereo, and how do i go about restoring the insert slots to the out 1&2?
    Thankz ahead,

    More correctly, BufferedImage extends Image as Image is an abstract class and not an interface.

  • Surround Sound from stereo tracks

    I was under the impression that you could mix Surround right on the FCP track in FCP 6. IF you can I dont see it.
    My files are Wav files
    I have one stereo track for audio (two tracks).
    One stereo Music
    One stereo Effects
    I want to put the narration on the center speaker and
    the music on R L and also the rear R and Rear L
    and the effects on the Front R and Front L.
    Do I have to go into SoundTracks to do this or is there a way to do it in FCP6?

    I was under the impression that you could mix Surround right on the FCP track in FCP 6. IF you can I dont see it.
    In your Sequence Settings, alter your audio preset to 5.1, you'll then get 6 outputs/busses - 1 stereo pair (for L & R) , 1 dual mono set (for C & LFE) and 1 stereo pair (for L & R Surround).
    You can then 'mix' within FCP by sending the tracks in your timeline to the specific outputs. Though in your case, since you have pre-mixed elements, this might not work for you.
    But, as Jerry says, you're best off with a dedicated 5.1 setup. Otherwise FCP automatically does a stereo downconvert for monitoring

  • How to assign the output of a function to a text area: a PLSQL challenge

    I have a function that returns a PLSQL table of varchar4(4000)
    Here is its signature in a package:
    create or replace package researcher_request_pk
    is
    TYPE query_table_type is table of varchar2(4000) index by binary_integer;
    FUNCTION RequestSQL(P_RRQ_ID in number) return query_table_type;
    end;
    I use this to get around the 32k limit on clobs and varchar2 variables
    I want to assign the output of the function to a text area. I've tried the following PLSQL in a dynamic action and also as the source attribute of the Text Area but it doesn't populate the text area.
    Here is the code i'm using
    declare
    v_table researcher_request_pk.query_table_type;
    begin
    v_table:=researcher_request_pk.RequestSQL(:P64_RRQ_ID);
    for i in 1..v_table.count loop
    htp.prn(v_table(i));
    end loop;
    end;
    Any ideas on the correct syntax to do this?
    thanks in advance
    PaulP

    Thanks for your reply
    The function does populate the PLSQL table with data. e.g. If I place that exact code in a PLSQL region it generates the output on the screen with no problems. The problem is just generating the output into the text area.
    I want the text area to display the output of the PLSQL table (-a dynamic select SQL statement) which I then plan to execute to return records.( i.e. I've build my own runtime query builder)
    My plan is to allow the user to edit the SQL output first before sending the statement for execution.
    Funnily enough I do get the very first word of the first cell appearing, namely 'SELECT' but nothing else. Maybe the "||" that follows has something to do with the rest of it not appearing?? hmmm... will experiment more.
    thanks

  • How do I split up a stereo track in to 2 mono tracks?

    I have Importanted a song from garage band into Sound track to later be used in a slideshow in DVD stuido Pro 3! I am using the A.pack to make this song play with the slideshow and fill the room in surround sound! However, When I assign the channels in A.Pack I find that my center channel is messing up my balance (i am guessing) Because of how you have to select which channel you want A.pack to play of the track for that channel! How do I get the center to be just that, The center! Help and Thank you1

    The best answer will depend upon knowing what file format.  Audacity app is a popular answer but if you are dealing with a lossy format such as AAC/.m4a or .mp3 you are better off using using editing tools for those (MPEGStreamclip and MP3Trimmer respectively).

  • How to assign output type and trigger printing in ABAP

    hi all,
    i have create invoice by using BAPI_BILLINGDOC_CREATEMULTIPLE and create header/item text with CREATE_TEXT.
    please advise how to assign the output type and trigger immediate printing after this.
    thanks.

    Hi Reetha ,
    This is a functional setting  , and should be done by some functional guy. The setting can be done by NACE.
    Just follow the path : NACE - > Select V3 for Billing - > Press Output type Button Just above - > Assign Output Type and
    then Assign Output program and form in PROCESSING ROUTINE comes into left. Set this output type for immediate print.
    Whenever You create a billing document by BAPI with this document type , the print out will be fired immediately.
    Hope it will solve your problem.
    Thanks.

  • Why are stereo tracks plying back in mono?

    Why are some of my stereo audio tracks playing back in mono with a single channel strip level meter even after I assign it as a stereo track with the two circle icon?

    hi and thanks. The files have two circles where the name is. it's weird b/c I have another stereo track which is a copy of the track that isnt playing corectly that works fine with split level meters showing. I have an output track set to 1 + 2 which shows two split level meteres as well.

  • Export mixdown of several stereo tracks as one mono track

    Thanks!

    Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)
    Final Cut Studio 7
    Oops, i posted this in the wrong discussion group. can this be moved to STP?

    On the Channels Strip (of the Audio Track with the Audio Region), ctr+click on the left segment of the Input Button. That opens a popup menu where you can select Left (only the left channel of the Audio Region is played as mono), or Right (only the right channel of the Audio Region is played as mono).
    Once the signal flow of the Channel Strip is mono (one channel), you can use the "Mono➤Stereo" version of some plugins to convert the Channel Strip to a stereo channel.
    About your second question. If you are referring to the little blue "Catch Playhead Button", that automatically scrolls the Workspace when the Playhead reaches the right border to keep the Workspace visible. You also can also enable  the "Scroll in Play" mode in the local View Menu. That one locks the Playhead in the center and scroll the Workspace "underneath"
    However if you are referring to that little Play icon in the left upper corner of the Region Header (only visible in the Editor), that one, the "Solo Play Button", only plays that Region in solo mode. It is basically a combination of "Play " and "Solo" in on button. You can find all those little informations and much more in my graphically enhanced manual "Logic Pro X - How it Works".
    Hope that helps

  • Assigning the output  type to the shipment number

    hello,
    can any one tell me how to assign the output type to the shipment number.
    Ex: ALTR to all my shipment numbers. By default, its taking other output types.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello!
    Please check which output-types for shipment have been maintained in transaction code VV7x (Output-Condition Records).
    Menu path: Logistics -> Sales and Distribution -> Master Data -> Output -> Shipment
      - VV71 - Create
      - VV72 - Change
      - VV73 - Display
    Or go to customizing (TCode: SPRO) to verify how they have been maintained:
    Menu path: IMG -> Logistics Execution -> Transportation -> Basic Transportation Functions -> Output Control -> Maintain Output Determination for Shipments
    Regards.

  • How to play back one channel of the stereo track in both headphone cans?

    I recorded two microphones in one stereo track. Is there some way I could listen to the left channel and then to the right channel in both cans in my headphones, like a mono track? Panning moves all sound to the left can or the right one in my headphones. But I'd like to listed Left channel as mono channel in both headphone cans, and then press some button and listen to the right channel in both cans. How can I do it?

    No problem. By the way, there is a wrinkle in Logic that you may not be aware of.
    When dealing with a stereo track, the knob in the channel strip that you may think of as a Pan knob is not. It's a Balance knob. What is does is to change the level of what's in either left or right channel but does NOT move the left signal to the right or vice versa.
    To prove this:
    * Create a project with two mono audio tracks
    * Put different files on each track
    * Pan one hard left, the other hard right
    * Bounce the result
    * Create a new project with a stereo audio track
    * Import the audio that you exported above
    * Use the Balance Knob to bring either up or down
    * Note you cannot move one signal from its original position
    If you want to pan a stereo signal, you have to use the insert: Imaging > Direction Mixer. Only then can you position a stereo signal in your stereo field. This is documented in the user manual in the section called: "Setting the Pan, Balance, or Surround Position".
    Have fun!

  • How do i export 16 mono tracks in a sequence as 8 stereo tracks.

    Hi I'll be working with 16 tracks of mono audio in Premiere to enable flexibility with my audio edits but when i export i want to make those 16 tracks as 8 stereo tracks, as this is what our specs for TX are.  So 1&2 will be stereo track 1, 3&4 will be stereo track 2, 5&6 will be stereo track 3 and so forth... In FCP this is easy as you can link and unlink the audio in the sequence, and in the sequence settings audio outputs dictate whether it will be mono or stereo.
    From what i gather i can edit in mono sequence then copy and paste into stereo sequence, however as the audio tracks are 1 track whether it is stereo or mono how do 16 fit into 8 when pasting.
    Sorry in advance if i am missing something very easy here, but im pulling my hair out with this.
    Thanks in advance
    Jason

    PP wil naturally send a track to two channels, even with a multichannel Master.  So you can ruote the tracks in the Mixer window.
