Workspace you will give access to specific reports.
Shared services you provision users for different roles, not down to specific reports, for a list of roles in reporting and analysis have a read here .

There is currently no solution that I am aware of for a pre-printed stationary look using an RTF template in which the data lines are of variable height. -

How to assign Users to process roles?
Hi All,
I have designed a process and I have consolidated all the roles,
when I intiate the process from the runtime workset it asks to assign users to these roles(I have consolidated all the roles to three mail roles). The problem that I am facing is that the user should not see this screen, depending upon the user login id the approvers should be automatically assigned to the respective roles.
Is this possible...

assuming that I've got you wright you could try to model the following using the callable object "business logic" and the callable object "assign user to process role".
With the help of the first CO you can implement the logic to assign the respective approvers to the users (initiator) and let the processflow go on directing it to the appropriate step where the above mentioned second CO assigns the user to the process role (using the result states of the bussiness logic CO)
At least you are supposed to need an appropriate Parameter that you can consolidate with the User ID.
Just a quick idea, hope this will work with you.

It would only work if you have work flow management activated in your system. If is not just FI, you need to have a full fledged work flow consultant. Do you have SRM? Then probably, it would be much more complex.
The answer is No for a step by step type of solution. You should also know and appreciate that step by step answers are not possible, otherwise, people should write 100000s of pages for you. Frankly, people do not have that much time.
Come up precisely with what you want? then people should be able to help you briefly.

S_RS_COMP: Authorizations for using different components for the query definition. This authorization object is very important for reporting
The authorization object S_RS_COMP restricts query component activities. For example, it restricts if someone can create queries, change queries, or execute queries. You can restrict query creation, change, and execution by the InfoArea and InfoCube. If your company has one InfoCube for sales information and another for financial data, you can restrict a user to only those queries written for the sales InfoCube or the financial InfoCube.
You could also use S_RS_COMP if you want to protect by query name. For example, you have an InfoCube for sales data. Every sales manager needs access to this InfoCube. However, sales managers in different lines of business are not allowed to execute the same query.

BalajiIn the SAP Easy Access screen type the transaction code SE93 in the command field and enter. This will take you to "maintain transaction" screen. Here you create one tcode by typing "zxxxxx" in the transaction code field and hit create. Enter some short text for your tcode. Ensure that the second radio button under start object ie "Program and Selection screen[report transaction] is selected and press enter.In the next screen type your report name in the field "program". Also select all the check boxes under "GUI support" tab. Now select save this will ask for package name. Here give the package name where you want your tcode to be stored. Next specify the change request number and press enter. You will get "Transaction code Zxxxx saved".
Now your custom tcode is ready for executing your report program.

How to assign users to group during upload ?

we have to upload a lot of users into our EP6.
according to the documentation it is possible to assign those users to roles during the upload, but we want to use Group-Assignments instead of directly assigning roles to users.
Is there any possibility to assign groups instead of roles during a user-upload ?
The doc shows in the Standard-File-Format" the parameters <namespace>:<name> , may those be used for this purpose, when yes, then how ?

do you mean uploading role-group assignments or user-group assignments?
User-group assignments can be uploaded using the following format (extraxt from UME documentation - section: Standard Format):

Make sure that you upload the groups in a second step after you have already uploaded the users. The userIds you name in the property "user" must exist.
For uploading role-group assignments I don't know a way but usually you so not have that many ...

My requirement is as follows,
I have three inputs which is User name, Password and URL. URL may be like anything like for example gmail,yahoo,hotmail like that.
No need to authenticate the URL. Just i want to place the credentials in User ID and Password controls.
On button click the URL should open in browser and the credentials should place in the controls in log in page.
How to achieve it. Ultimate thought is the user should know the "Password",only admin know the password.

If URL's are internal (not third party) then you can do this by modifying both applications. If you are trying to do this with third party then you have to contact product owner. I don't think there is any code or solution for third party application where
you can set values of controls.
For internal URL's you can create custom web service and call this web service in both the applications. One to get value from first app and then second to set value in another app.

where can I set the maximum number of instances intended as historical reports for all users?
On page 341 of the XIR2 Admin guide :
Setting limits for folders, users, and groups
Limits allow you to delete report instances on a regular basis. You set limits to
automate regular clean-ups of old BusinessObjects Enterprise content. Limits
that you set on a folder affect all objects that are contained within the folder.
At the folder level, you can limit the number of instances that remain on the
system for each object or for each user or group; you can also limit the
number of days that an instance remains on the system for a user or group.
It will be truly benefitial if you review admin guide.
If you go to any folder properties in CMC, it'll have Limits tab, where you can set those.
Or you can set it globaly by going to CMC>Settings>Limits. -
How to change user group of a query (sq01)

I'm working with SAP Queries (SQ01) and I don't know how can I change the user group assignation of a query. We did only one user group for all users and queries and know in order to arrange it a bit we've created three user groups.
We know how to assign users to new user groups but for each query of the old group we neet to move it to one of the new user groups, how could we do this?

With the Definition of the recepient groups you can specify for which recipient group which function module should be linked / should be used.
In the function module it is decided whom the correppondece will be sent.
F.e.:
Recipient group Prebooked -> RH_GET_ADDR_PREB (function module)
If you prebook a course with one of your Objects (Person, User, Candidate, Org. Unit, etc..) than the object automatically belongs to the Prebooked group.
For the "prebooked" group you can specify different notification types they call the function module.

if i use user 1 and user 2 for org 1 and org 2 respectively. I want user 1 can see the data of org 1 only not org 2 and same for user 2 can see the data for org 2 only how i can do this in reports. Now suppose you have 200 user and org then how you handle this in reports.

Maintain a table with two fields - user & organisation.
Fill it with proper user & his corresponding org details.
While fetching the data for report output, take the user as input & fetch the corresponding Organisation.
Then while preparing the final output data, prepare it based on the users organisation.

We have 10 users seperatly, For executing IW38/39 transaction they have maintained seperate layouts for executing the reports. While saving layout they have saved the layout as 'user specific' Now some body has chage the settings.

Here is the steps
Creating a Variant Group
1. Open transaction SHD0, enter the transaction code, and press enter.
2. Choose the Standard Variants tab page, and then the sub tab page Variant Groups, and enter a group name, such as GROUP_GEN
3. Choose Create. Enter a short text on the Maintain Variant Group window that appears and save the variant group.
Assigning Users
Once you have created the variant group and the relevant transaction variants with screen variants, you now need to assign users to the variant group as follows
1. Return to the Standard Variants tab page, Variant Groups sub tab page.
2. Enter the name of a user that you want to assign to this variant group, and choose Assign. A message that this user was successfully assigned to the variant group appears in the status bar. If you choose a where-used list for users, this user is displayed in the user list.
3. However, for the screen variants of the variant group that you created above to be displayed for the user, you first need to select Set Proposal. The user is assigned to the group and the associated transactions are started with the corresponding variants only once you choose the Set Proposal function.
You can use this procedure of user assignment for all other users that you want to add to the variant group
