How to attach file in emails

Hi how can add attachment in emails

You email files from within the app that the file is created or saved.
Launch the app that contains the file that you want to email. Open the file. Look for a tools icon or a curved arrow icon in the upper right corner. Tap on it and you should see an option to email the file.

I am using an Imac with lion that is only a few days old.  How can I attach a file to an email without embedding it.  I spoke to apple care and they said after I attach the file to right click on the embedded image and and then click on view as an attachment. I have tried that many times but people still receive the emails with the image embedded.  I switched from a PC and have found that many simple things I used to be able to do on a PC are not so simple on a mac.  I called apple care 5 times about different issues and the geniuses did not know how to resolve the issue.    If this one doesn't get resolved this is going back for a refund.

I haven\'t seen how a mac is easier to use than a pc wrote:

Technically, you can't, at least if you are using SMTP to send the email. All except plain text attachments in emails using that standard are actually embedded in the message for transmission, separated by MIME tags that suggest how the receiving email client application (called "mail user agents" in the specs) should handle it.
The content-disposition tag tells the client app if a part was intended to be displayed inline (embedded) or as a separate attachment. Unfortunately, the majority of client apps do not fully follow those suggestions & make their own determination of what to display inline or as separate attachments.
So the best you can do is make sure the message as composed uses the appropriate content-disposition tag & hope that the receiving client app honors it. If you are using Apple's Mail.app try Don Archibald's suggestion, or putting all the attachments at the very end of your message (which may require not using a sig).
But this won't always work since the receiving app may ignore your efforts.

Is there any way to attach a file when sending an email message using Gmail or Hotmail? I can't find a way of sending a picture (taken with the Playbook) via email.

You're using the gmail or hotmail webmail, not the Bridge email?

  • How to attach files in the new BT Yahoo system

Can anyone tell me how to attach files to an email in the new system, please? I have a particular reason which is too complicated to go into here why occasionally I want to send files using web-mail rather than an email client (yes, I do know that's the best way). When I click the "attach" tab, I get an (apparently) helpful page which enables me to add several files at once. But there's no "continue" or "do it" button to get me back to the email I've started, and since ther's no tabs in the new system, I'm stumped.
    Solved!

Have you seen this thread? Not an elegant solution, but it appears to work for some bizarre reason.

  • Recently, I have not been able to attach files to emails using the MobileMe webmail system.

When trying to attach files to emails using the MobileMe webmail system, it lets me browse and click on a file but then does nothing and there is no actual attachment. It previously always worked. I checked with the MobileMe folks and they said it is a browser problem. (True, it works in Safari.) Any ideas on how to fix this? I prefer Firefox, of course.

    Hi davebundy-
One suggestion I've heard is that ad block may be perceiving the mail client as an advertisement. The solution was to mark the webmail URL as safe with any ad block plugins or software you have. Hope that helps.

  • How to attach files from "Office" to E Mail

    Hi,
I am using a Nokia Lumia 720. and I have an outlook account, which I use with regularity.
I have faced a problem which is still not resolved - how to attach files in the mail.
    1. You open Outlook Mail or any mailbox that you are using and then you click on the "attach file" icon and you are taken directly to Albums. But the word, excel files which you want to use are stored in "Office". There is no way you can attach a file from "Office"  after you have typed your mail.
    2. So I used to go to "Office" first, select the file, share it in Outlook or any mail I am using, and then type out my mail. But in this way I could send only one attachment.
I believe that there is a way to address this issue and I would like to know how?
Shall be obliged for your suggestion/solutions.
    Regards
    Biplab Paul

hi mate, in the upcoming Lumia Black update, the Microsoft part of the update (GDR3) has enhanced support for attaching Office format files. the Lumia black update is expected to start rolling out in early 2014.

  • How to attach files to the thread we post in this forum?

How to attach files to the thread we post in this forum?
I’m wondering why there is no feature that allows attaching files from our hard drives! It is not practical to upload our file first in a certain web to provide it as a link in the post.
Is there a way to attach our files directly from our hard drive to the post?
Please, have a look on the screenshot below that shows a forum which includes all the very basic features!
    Thank you for the help
    Best
    Jamal

    Pierre,
Just a guess on my part, but I would suspect non-image files in this case.
As Ted points out, that WAS possible early on, and then the capbility to attach non-image files, was actually retained by a certain few forums, though not for long. This change was coincidental with a major spam attack, and at least one disgruntled user attempting to attach some rather nasty "stuff." I do ot know if those events prompted the change, as I was not part of the decision making group, that initiated the change.
Though 95% of the files that I wish to attach, ARE image files, there are times, where a TXT file would be ideal, say for a crash log, or similar. Now, I can convert that TXT to a PNG, but then one has to work with pixel x pixel dimensions, and some files, like those crash logs, can be rather long.
Personally, I find the loss of the Attach File (was via a button at the bottom-left of the editing screen) to be a sad comment on the actions of some, on these forums, but then that just reflects life outside of the forums.
    Hunt
PS - I am glad that you found that little article useful Especially in the PS, PrPro, PrE and Encore forums, screen-caps can tell so very much about what is going on with a person's program, system or their Projects/Images.

  • Can't attach files to emails

I recently upgraded to a G5 Dual 2GHz system running OS X Tiger. I am having trouble attaching files of any kind to email. I have email accounts with Charter High Speed Cable, and a SquirrelMail account with APlus.net (who hosts my Website).
On my older Beige G3 tower, I never had a problem. As soon as I got the new machine up and running, I lost the ability to attach files using either account.
I know it is a system issue of some sort, because I can attach files to emails from either account from remote locations. I can receive attached files, but can't send attached files.
Are there any known conflicts with Tiger that could be a culprit? Could it be fax software or Norton Antivirus?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • After upgrade I cannot attach files to emails in mobileme.

I changed to Internet explorer and it works.

  • My iMac wont attach files to email

    iMac OS X 10.6.8
HELP! My iMac has stopped attaching files to email. I have tried yahoo and gmail on both safari and firefox. I havent had any issues until this week.

OK, when you hear the startup tone hold down the Shift key on your keyboard until a progress bar appears on the display. Let it fully boot in Safe Mode then, as mentioned early restart normally and re-test.
Also you can always use Google to search for things like "OS X Safe Mode start" and you will find Apple's instructions on-line.

  • Cannot attach files to emails

Over a year ago I could not attach a pciture to an outgoing email when using firefox as my browser and yahoo as my email. Then it started working again and now it is not working again. I type an email and try to attach a file and I cannot. If I sign in thru internet explorer I can attach the file without any problems. Any help would be appreciated on why I cannot attach a file to an emailk with firefox as my browser.

Just installed Pure 2.0 as an upgrade to Kas Internet Security on my ASUS pc laptop. Firefox 18.0.2 has automatically disabled Kas URL Advisor 12.0.1.311, Anti-Banner, and Virtual Keyboard. are these or any other issues w/Pure 2.0 responsible for suddenly corrupting Firefox or my webmail server's ability to attach files to emails just after i had installed Pure? i need your help determining whether that's the cause or simply correlation.
when i try to attach any file to an email message, my email pops up a blank window with the following address: http://md03.quartz.synacor.com/service/upload?fmt=extended
WHAT HASN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM: 1. a tech service call to my isp who thinks Kas Pure is the issue since all isp diagnostics check out ok. 2. disabling Pure didn't allow for attaching files. 3. neither did uninstalling it. 4. neither did re-installing using Kas-supplied recovery disk which then needed massive updates.
WHAT TEMPORARILY WORKED AROUND THE PROBLEM: 1. restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled. THIS mode allowed attachments, but isn't sustainable. 2. IN ADDITION, as i re-enabled add-ons ONE AT A TIME i could successfully send an email attachment AT EACH POINT. once all-ons were back on and i restarted the computer, the problem returned. 3. sending email with attachments from Internet Explorer (i will not return to that browser!). 4. sending email with attachments through the same isp using our iMac.
i will now try the fix mentioned above.
