How to attach Windows-readable photos to Mail

Friends,
Running Lion with all updates.  Recently, when sending photos by email to Windows machines, the image is embedded in the messaage and not added as an attachment.  As a result, recipients are unable to download the photos.  Have I messed up a setting?  I attached the photos by using the photo attachment plug-in when sending a message.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
Steve

It's a bug in Outlook. This site has some workarounds: http://www.labnol.org/software/download-images-in-outlook-email/8277/
You can try forcing your email message to send plain text and set the attachment option to put images at end of email.

How to attach a file to the mail

I know that this can be done when going to any PDF program and push (send as  email)
This also can done with multiple files or even with separate pages from that PDF file (Many programs can do that, like: PDF expert, Adobe Reader, iBooks, PDF Provider, Documents, etc)
But what if I begin to wright an email, then I wanted to attach a file (such as PDF, or word, or any file) , FOR BASIC APPLE MAIL IT IS UNAVAILABLE
You can attach Photo or Video but not PDF or other document
There are some email programs that can attach files to email such as my.mail (as you can see from the photo)
But why Apple don't provide such simple service ???

You cannot. The Attach code in browsers means let user browse file system. You cannot access the file system, therefore the mobile version of Safari doesn't allow it.

Good question - and one that a lot of (business) people would like solved!
Your question prompted me to do some research, and I found this workaround posted by Scott Grossberg:
His solution actually addresses a second problem too - how to attach a document when replying to an email message. In your case you may not need to consider the "reply" aspect - but if not right now, it'll come in useful someday!
I've pasted it verbatim - if it works for you (it does for me) then all credit goes to Scott for solving the problem. There's just one thing I'd add to his solution: you will probably want to rename the message, as by default Goodreader gives it the Subject line: Mail with GoodReader attachments.
    THE GOODREADER OPTION
    1.  CREATE the document you want to send.
    2.  SAVE it to GoodReader (this will require you to buy and install the app).
    3.  Go to your email and OPEN the email thread to which you want to Reply and attach your file.
    4.  COMPOSE your Reply.
    5.  DOUBLE TAP the message.
    6.  TAP SELECT ALL. This will copy the entire email thread.
    7.  OPEN GOODREADER on the iPad and go to the file you want to send as part of your Reply.
    8.  At the bottom of the GoodReader screen you will see an EXPORT icon (it looks like a rectangle with an arrow pointing to the right).
    9.  TAP the Export button.
    10.  TAP EMAIL FILE. Depending on your needs, tap either SEND FILE “AS IS” or “FLATTEN ANNOTATIONS.” This will open a compose message screen with the chosen document already attached.
    11.  TAP in the body of the email screen. TAP PASTE. This will place your composed Reply and the prior email thread into the message.
    12.  ENTER the Recipients’ names in the TO: field of your message.
    13.  SEND your email Reply.
The modified version (= when composing a new message rather than a reply):
1 Make sure that the doc you want to attach is saved in GoodReader
2 In the message you are composing, double tap, select all, and then copy.
3 Open GoodReader and select the file you want to attach
4 Select the export button at the bottom of screen
    5 Select e-mail file
6 Position cursor in body of the email message, tap and paste. You may want to delete the "sent from GoodReader" text that precedes the attachment.
7 Rename your message (as by default it will be Mail with GoodReader attachments)
8 Add the recipient's address in the To field.
Hope this helps! All thanks to Scott for this workaround.

  • Attaching Max Resolution Photos to Mail

How do I attach a full rez photo (from iPhoto) to an outgoing mail? Attaching a reduced size version is straightforward but I can't figure out how to attach the original...
    Thanks
    Nick (new to Mac!)

Ok part of this you may already know but for everyone else... here it is again.
Open mail and select New Message, in the top of the "new message" window you'll see the "Photo Browser" button, press it and then browse to the desired picture and drag into the "New Message" Window.
In the "New Message" window on the bottom right corner there is a "Image size" chooser, press the arrows to get the drop down and then select "Actual Size".
You can alternately drag straight from iPhoto or where ever and then select the size you what to send it as.
    Hope this answered your question.

  • How to attach multiple file in one mail

    Hi,
I've problems with sending multiple files via Gmail account (Ipad version)  When sending the photo or video, I've to just click the photo and choose send to mail one by one. Any simpler way?  Sometimes i did sent both mpg and jpg but the reciepient didn't see any attachment too
Anyone can help advise how to attach different file (doc, video, photo) in one mail will be a lot appreciated. Thank you so much

You can attach multiple pictures to an email on an ipad2. Don't know about original iPad.
Choose a photo or take a screen shot (hold down home button and button next to volume control at same time--screen shot now will appear in photos).
Go to photos and edit your picture or screen shot, save it, then hold down on the image and copy it.
Go to mail, create a new mail and paste it in.
Save you mail as a draft.
Go back to photos and select a different photo, copy it, and return to your draft, and paste it in. Repeat if you need to add more.
Anything that you can take a screen shot or have an photo of can be pasted in one at a time into that draft email.
If mail gets uncooperative, during this process, then double click on home button and quit multitasking mail, then open up mail again and send your draft. Uncooperative means gets frozen.

The only way possible to send a non-text file by e-mail is as an attachment. Different e-mail programs will handle JPEG attachments differently. Some will show the attachment within the message and some will not.
