How to authorize another computer
how do I get another computer authorized to have full access. Went to store to authorize computer, entered the ID and Password and could see account info, but no music was accessible. How do I get the music to come up?
Which music ? Your own content or music in the iTunes store ?
If your own music then you need to copy it from your old computer or backup to the new computer and then add it to iTunes via File > Add Folder To Library (currently only in the US can past music purchases be re-downloaded). Copying music between computers : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
If music in the store so that you can buy it, then not all content types are available in all countries (due to things such as licensing). A full list of the types of content that are available in each country is shown on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3599 . If you are in a country where music is not available, then unfortunately you won't be able to buy music from Apple (and the terms of use of the stores state that you can only use your own country's store). Are there other music purchases download sites where you are ? Or you can copy your own CDs

My email address has changed and when I try to play purchased songs it asks me to authorize another computer under the old email address. How do I play the music that I have purchased? My account is current with the new email address.
You may have already done this, but try de-authorizing your computer (through the iTunes:Store menu) and then re-authorizing it.

HT1727 How do I authorize another computer?
I am asked by i-tunes store to authorize the computer I am using, which is my laptop, not my PC tower. I have purchased music and it has downloaded but I cannot get it on my PC laptop because "you must authorize this computer". I have 2 computers, the PC desktop which I have used for years with I-tunes, and now I have a laptop, too, and do not know how to "authorize this computer". Thanks. I have an I-Pad, I-phone, and am rapidly becoming an Apple addict, but still don't have the Mac.

How does one authorize another computer to play previously purchased music?
I have recently downloaded a ITunes software on a new computer. I would like to authorize the computer to listen to previously purchased music.
My understanding is that we can share music on Itunes on up to five computers.
I woud appreciate if someone could share a document on how to authorize mulitple computer to a single account.
Thank you
mfinegan67There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them: -
Hi - Does someone know how to authorize a computer so it will play the songs you've bought from iTunes? I've wasted nearly two hours trying. It all began when I tried to remove a previously authorized computer which broke down years ago.
Step 1 - Log in with apple ID, go into account and click the deauthorize computers button (that's what they tell you to do if you can't connect the broken computer to deauthorize it). I managed that.
Result - Now it says I have no authorized computers. Fair enough. Except I'm trying to reauthorize the one and only working computer we own so it plays the music we've previously bought, and so we can use the iTunes store credit we still have.
Step 2 - Try and reauthorize the working computer - the one I'm typing on - it was authorized earlier today - until I had to unauthorize it to remove the defunct computer with that deauthorize all button.
Anyway the instructions to authorize/reauthorize a computer say, "Go to Store menu - then authorize this computer. " Sounds simple!
It's at this point I'm stuck - the instructions are insufficient for me.There are no links to redirect you to the correct place to authorize your computer. It just says to go to store and authorize this computer. When I press store it's connecting me to store but I can't find anything that says authorize this computer - I can just see album covers etc. On the right I can see our account but I can't find store menu or an authorize this computer button in that either. If I click on our account it says that we have no authorized devices or computers. I'm logged into our account with the correct apple ID - otherwise I wouldn't be able to read that we have no authorized computers would I? And I've logged in and out several times and tried to refresh the page.
Could someone please send me a link to the Store menu so I can click on the correct page then hopefully reauthorize our previously authorized computer. We are using Windows 7, but I don't know what version of itunes - it's a fairly recent version though.
I wish they would make removing and authorizing computers easier - can't they just put a button on the main screen or something?Ozfamily wrote:

Deauthorizing iTunes on a computer? My laptop won't let me connect my iPhone because it says I'm authorized on too many computers, but when I try to de-authorize another computer I use it won't let me. What's up?
What do you mean it won't let you? What exactly does it say? (Sorry to sound so exasperated but this is like the 6th post in a row where people have made vague statements which do little to help us find solutions without a game of 20 questions.) I'm going to guess and say you can only deauthorize a computer to which you have physical access or VPN login. The alternative is to deauthorize all which you can only do once a year.

All you have to do is sign in to the apple store inside iTunes. If is doesn't show up automatically go to the Store menu > Authorize This Computer... You will have access to all of your purchases.

I have a sony ipod and I am unable to authorize another computer to the itunes store. When I go to the store I cannot find the prompt to "authorize a computer"
Where should I be looking? I have windows 8 on my computerYou don't have any menubars at the top of your computer's iTunes ? I still see them on my Mac on iTunes 11 :
If you are on Windows then press the 'alt' key and the menus should appear (alt-s to open the Store menu) -
Feeling really stupid with my new MAC - I can't find the "Store" menu in iTunes as referenced in the support article on how to authorize a computer. Where is that menu option? I've looked all over the page, in my account, etc.
Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us. -
