How to authorize computer for music

I just got the newest MacBook Air, and I love it! However, in order to download my music onto it from my iPhone, iTunes is saying I must authorize my computer - does anyone know how to do this? Also, does it require a subscription to iTunes Match? Thanks!

My menu bar only shows 'safari, file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, windows, help'. It doesn't show 'store'. Where can I find it so I can authorize? I just bought this laptop so I'm wondering if it's a new design or something.
Don't worry, got it! I had to open the iTunes first for it to show.. Thanks!

how to authorize computer in itunes for the purchased from another account ??

Use that account's Apple ID and password; the procedure is otherwise the same as authorizing it for the first account. If the iTunes library contains protected content from more than five iTunes Store accounts, you may not be able to fully sync it.

If it's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If it's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • Searching Computer for music

Is there any other way besides the inital set up to search your computer for music. All my music got moved and i didn't want to go through and refind it all i just want to search my computer and import it all again. Is there any way to do that?

Yes, use the iTunes command File > Add Folder to Library, and point it to "My Music" or whatever high-level folder(s) contain your song files. iTunes will scan the folder and all its subfolders, and will add what it finds to the library.

  • How do I authorize my computer for music that was bought on an Itunes account that is no longer being used?

So my family used to share an itunes account and I bought music on that account. Now I have my own itunes account and my own ipod but I'm having trouble authorizing my computer to play the music that I bought on this old account. The email address for the account is dead because it was attached to mindspring. So basically how do I get this music without buying it all again?

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • Scanning computer for music

When I installed iTunes it prompted me to allow it to scan my hard drive for music. Not wanting EVERY sound bite I had imported into my iTunes Library, I declined.
After some organizing, I want iTunes to scan my computer for my music. Can someone help me figure out how to tell iTunes to perform this scan again?

EDIT: I found a way around it.
