How to (auto)-update Adobe CS4

A few days ago, Adobe CS4 was installed on my new Dell XPS computer (Windows 7).
Since then, there was no autoupdate of any of CS programs. I tried to update manually (Help>updagte) from CS 4.
I got the error (see the attachment). I got the same error when I tried to manually update of Acrobat.
Please help me how to go around this problem Thanks. In

If you are using a PC then open the Control Panel and look for the option to Uninstall a program. Before you do unnstall it you should deactivate it by opening one of the programs and choosing Help -> Deactivate.

YouTube does not use Adobe Reader. Videos do not use Adobe Reader.
Adobe Reader is used only to show files in a special format called "PDF".
What you are having problems with is probably Adobe Flash Player.
So, if you are trying to solve problems with Adobe Flash Player by downloading Adobe Reader, or even Adobe Acrobat, it isn't going to help you in the end. Is that what is happening (we can't really tell without screen pictures, but it seems a likely guess).

How to auto update a section on all pages.

I have a section on the right hand side of a website I'm developing containing txt and it's controlled by CSS which also appears on all the other pages, so what I want to be able to do is when I add a new bit of text to it on one page it will auto update with the new txt on all the other pages to save me copying and pasting the same bit of txt on all the pages.

You can use Dreamweaver Templates or use serverside include. (SSI)
Using the template function within Dreamweaver is a good way to go if it's a small site . .
For larger sites then serverside includes would be more practical and earlier for maintenance purposes.
Templates:
You create a master template page, you declare which areas will be the same for every page, (non-editable regions) and then declare an area that will change on every page (the content area) , these are editable regions.
Once you create the template and save it, you are then able to create 'child' pages from this template - as many as you like :-) If you every need to make a change to the menu or the footer or the header, change it in the master template, save it and the changes will flow through to the child pages created from the template.

One major difference between using Templates and SSI?
When you make a change to a template page, you will need to re-upload all the pages to the server that were changed - may become very tedious if it is a very large site.
With using SSI, you make a change to one file and only have to upload the one file and all pages on the server will be update accordingly.

Disable auto-updates/Adobe Application Manager

there is no forum for this - I use Illustrator and Photoshop CS6 non-CC on macbook pro running 10.8.5 or 10.9.2. I would like to not have AAM search for updates in the background, but initiate the **search** for updates manually. The reason is that I live a bit off the grid and pay quite a lot per minute, and AAM kept the internet connection open the whole night, even though the browser said it was closed.

Centralized solution to update Adobe CS4

Hello,
Does Adobe propose a solution to centrally update its programs ?
I am thinking about something like WSUS for Windows Updates or Mac OS X server centralized update server.
A solution that can manage, monitor and enables us to only download the updates once for every machines.
I am in a training center with more than 100 Macs and 50 PC's each with Adobe CS 4 installed. It's really painful if not impossible to update Adobe products. It requires a lot of bandwith and far too much manual intervention.
If anyone can help me. I would really appreciate.

Just copy from @echo off down to exit and paste it into notepad. Save the file as either a .bat or .cmd file. You will need to change the third line, set instdir=C:\TEMP\AdobeCS4Updates, to the path to the folder you have the updates stored.
What you need to do is download all the above updates from Adobe. Unfortunately, you will have to navigate to several pages to get all the updates. Most will be on the CS4 updates page, but several of them will require selecting the individual product to get to it. Extract all the updates and place the extracted folders into one folder. In my script example above, all the extracted update folders are located in a folder named C:\TEMP\AdobeCS4Updates. You will also need to double check the extracted update folders names to see if they match the path listed in the script. I think there are 1 or 2 that I changed the name slightly from what is the default (I know for sure I did this for the Adobe Output Module, it didn't have the Bridge part in there).
The Acrobat updates don't get extracted since they are msp files. You will also need to copy AcroPro.msi into the folder you store the 2 msp files in. Copy AcroPro.msi from the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Setup Files\guid (guid will be some long string that I'm too lazy to type out). If you installed to some other location, get the file from that location.
All other update files will be zip files when downloaded except for Flash. Flash will be an exe, but just extract it like the others.
OnLocation version 4.0.3 update is not currently listed on the download site as of this posting. I have posted it in another thread.

When you download Adobe Reader from Adobe you might get a screen:
It's a bad thing that this is on by default but you CAN TURN IT OFF.
If you don't get this screen, and still get McAfee or other junk, you probably downloaded from one of the many sites which get themselves high in Google searches for Adobe Reader and offer non-approved downloads. If you have done this, McAfee may be the least of your concerns!

Does Firefox auto-update Adobe Reader, new versions?

It appears that in the past Firefox has auto-updated the Adobe Acrobat (last update shown as Aug. 5, 2014). It shows up as Adobe PDF Plug-in for Firefox, however it is not showing the newest version just released.
All of my plug-ins are showing up as "up to date", including the Adobe Flash which was recently updated on Sept. 9th.
Is it too soon for the plug-in to be updated? Any assistance with this issue would be most sincerely appreciated.

How to auto update JTable during runtime

Can anyone tell me how to dynamically update a JTable during execution, what i mean isin the I want the table to automatically add new rows as i enter new data.
if I pass the object array reference of the TableModel to a method, then add more objects to the array and the revalidate the JTable will it work, or how do I do it ? Thanks

Your table model should extend AbstractTableModel. And when (for example) it adds a row to whatever data structure is supporting the model, it should call fireTableRowsInserted... you can find out more about those methods in the API documentation. You don't need to revalidate or invalidate or validate the JTable, at least I don't have that in my code anywhere.

How stop auto update before you insert the ipod

This seems to be a real quandary. sometimes you want to insert your ipod without the whole updating thing taking over you ipod. but I don't think you can change that setting unless the ipod in plugged into computer, and if setting is auto update it just starts. any ideas appreciated. thanks.
