How to autoflow a very long word in InDesign?

I am trying to insert/import/paste a text into InDesign. The text contains some text-strings (or 'words') that are more than 3000 characters long. This causes InDesign to have overset text, and not being able to auto-flow the text.
When I import (or paste) the text I am shift+clicking (I have also tried option+shift+click) to make the text auto-flow down along the pages, but the auto-flow stops at page 16 (where the long 'words' start to occur), although my file contains more than 200 pages. I get the little red plus sign below in the last text-box, that indicates that I have overset text.
I then tried to click the red plus sign and continue the text-flow on the following pages, but I just end up with empty text-boxes on the following pages every time I try click the red plus sign.
I removed the long 'words', and tried again, and now InDesign does not appear to have an issue with my text. So the problem is caused by the long 'words'.
The format of the text is unimportant (I have tried .rtf and .txt) and InDesign is able to recognise both.
However, I cannot insert spaces or end-of-line into these long 'words', as this would change the 'words'. The number of characters in each 'word' is important, and if I start adding extra spaces or end-of-line charecters it would change the 'words'.
I have a lot of places in the text where I have these long 'words', and I would like to avoid too much clicking and inserting to get around this issue.
I am running InDesign CS3 on a Macintosh 10.5.8 computer
I would be grateful if anyone have an idea how to work around these.

Hyphenation is a paragraph level attribute, so it can be found inthe panel menu for the Paragraph panel or the Control panel when the Text tool is active, or it can be turned on or off in the paragraph style assigned to the text, which is probably the best place to do it.
Perhaps they aren't true hyphens? To test, copy and paste one into the Find What text field and type a hyphen into the the Change To field, and try a single find/change. If that works, save copies of the documents before trying find/change all.

In any case ... I've now found it and trust I'll be able to figure it out.

Can anyone please tell me how can I insert a very long string into a column of datatype 'LONG'?
I get the error, ORA-01704: string literal too long when I try to insert the value into the table.
Since it is an old database, I cannot change the datatype of the column. And I see that the this column already contains strings which are very long.
I know this can be done using bind variables but dont know how to use it in a simple query.
Also is there any other way to do it?

How to post a very long terminal command in a scolling overflow cell?

I've forgotten how to post, in a forum such as this, a very long Terminal command in an overflow scrolling cell.
Terminal commands can be very problematic unless they are copied accurately.
I know that MacOSHints have these overflow cells included often, but unfortunately I can't find an email contact over there to ask how it's being done.
Maybe only some forums allow this?
Not the same as TinyURL links for URLs of course.

It appears to work... though adding comments __above__ the HTML after using the HTML editor doesn't appear possible.
Some forums don't have the raw HTML editor (e.g. Mac OS X Hints) so I guess I just have to hit the <pre> in the Post Mode...

How to indent second line in a very long heading when creating a table of contents?

I need to make a table of contents.
Some of the chapter headings are very long and fill more than a single line.
When I create my table of contents, I want the second lines to be 'pushed in' in the table.

I thought I had solved it by having the actual chapter headings indented like this, but the table of contents overlooks this/overrules this.

Start up with your built-in Recovery disk by holding down the Command and R keys when starting. Open Disk Utility from there and use it to REPAIR your disk (you've already verified it and it came up with errors).
With any luck, your problems will be solved. While I was there, I would also repair permissions.

Well, two thoughts.
The battery has completely discharged and will take overnight to recharge, so don't expect much in an hour.

I suspect you may have a corrupt photo or image that is causing the sync to fail or quit. You might want to try removing all of your photos by deselecting them in iTunes then sync - and try adding them by each sub-folders until you are able to nail down which sub-folder of photos, that causes the sync to stop or gives you errors.

Just to add to what ChrisJ4203 said. You can sync them to your new computer using iTunes by selecting to Include Voice Memos on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing. However, you still need to re-establish syncing with the new computer without iTunes erasing all the iTunes media from your phone (as the warning mentioned).
If you copy your entire iTunes folder (not just your music) from your old computer to your new one, along with other non-iTunes media you may be syncing with iTunes (such as contacts, calendars and any photos synced to your phone from your old computer) by using migration assistant of following one of these methods: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527, then when you sync again with your new computer it will recognize your phone and sync as it did before. You will still have to authorize the new computer for any Apple IDs used to purchase from the iTunes and App stores (in iTunes>Store>Authorize this computer).
After that you can sync your voice memos to your computer as mentioned earlier.
If you want to archive your voice memos before you do anything with iTunes, you can use a 3rd party program such as PhoneView or Touch Copy.

If you add a new slide with just a text box (therefore a very small amount of data), to an existing presentation then save, Keynote will only save the new content to the file, it wont save pre-existing content as its already included in the file.
The time taken to "save" will be very much shorter than a "save as" when all of the existing content is saved again.

Sometimes documents such as quotations, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders could be very long over say over 300 items.
How can we search for something within that document while staying in the document - For example specific item in the document, or specific any field in the document.
I thought the column title should have had FILTER option at least. I don't seem to find one. Is there any other way of searching for something within a large document?

There is no built-in function for this. You have few options:
1. By Drag & Relate. This may not work well.
2. By query report. Using query is the fastest and reliable way to reach your goal.

Well, you didn't mention Mac, but to my knowledge, TouchCopy works on both platforms. And, my understanding of the OP was to send each one individually, whereas WiseJD was referring to selecting them all so you could copy them all and send, rather than emailing each individual piece.
It wasn't that I thought it was rude, but that it was a complaint about something that someone said a year ago. You did not come here to ask a question, or indicate at all that you were looking for a solution to a similar question. It was just that you came on, slammed a response and left it at that. Those of us that take the time to answer people's questions as volunteers and users just like you. If you spend a great deal of time here, you will see a lot of different types of questions/comments that can get on your nerves. There are all in one collumn.
In excel there is a funciton that
allows me to highlight cells that
are duplicates.

The entire process of creating the example and posting it here took a couple of minutes. Less time, I'm sure, than it would take me to figure out how to find duplicates in Excel if I was still an Excel user. It's what you plan to do with the information on duplicates that will take the bulk of the time, I think.
Step by step (for column B):
Click on a cell in the data column
Type Option-RightArrow to create a new column next to column B
Type =COUNTIF(B,B) in the new column, just opposite the first data in column B
Select the cell with the equation you just typed and type Command-C
Shift-Click the last cell in the new column
Command-V
That business may take 30 seconds.
If you wish to format the backgtround fill option, go immediately to the Cells Inspector and click on Conditional Format and enter the condition and formatting options.
That's another 30 seconds if you are familiar with the process.
The theme with this and many other situations where Excel features are lacking in Numbers is that Numbers is a much leaner application than Excel. It's a different product, not a clone. There are a few painful gaps and differences and many unique advantages in Numbers. It's best to remain flexible. If Excel suits you better, use it.
