Hello Venu,
To be able to monitor the database on your Solution Manager system:
-> Please check if the database client software installed on the
   application server. See notes:
    822239     FAQ: MaxDB Interfaces
649814     Updating MaxDB/ liveCache client software
-> What is the version of the database? What is the SAP Basis SP on
your Solution Manager system & what is the SAP kernel version
   your Solution Manager system?
-> If the system is NOT running with MAXDB, you need MAXDB database-dependent part of the SAP kernel, which is known as the DBSL installed on the application server.
   SAP notes :
   325402     dbadaslib/dbsdbslib: How do I apply a patch?
   822239       FAQ: MaxDB Interfaces
After that the application server need to be restarted.
-> See in the SAP note  588515  the section 3.
Call transaction DB59, Select "Integrate database" & create the database
connection, for example, TEST < You could name it MAXDB_<SID> to have
unique connection name>. And follow the further instructions.
Please run the 'Connection test' after that & review the log.
After the database connection was created in /ndb59 you could double click
on the created connection TEST .
Or /ndb59 -> select connection -> click database assistant bottom =>
it brings you to the  database assistant (DB50/DB50N).
And in the database assistant you could click on Alert Monitor and activate
the database MTE tree.
You could run the /ndb50n transaction & specify the created in the /ndb59 database connection TEST and execute to monitor the MAXDB database on your system.
-> Please review the SAP note:

  • How to Automatically Backup Photos to Windows PC HDD from Photostream

I have iCloud and Photo Stream up and running on my Windows 8 PC.  I want to save space on my iPhone and iPad SSDs and backup photos from my PhotoStream to my Windows PCs hard drive for archiving and then delete the photos from my camera roll on iPhone & iPad.  Apple states that it automatically imports every PhotoStream photo to your PC if you have it set up.  I have found a ton of confusion about this issue searching the forum and Google about this issue and do not know what to believe.  Apple states that it automatically backs up photos to a PC HDD here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/photo-stream.html under the Master Photo Library section.
    1) Are the pictures under the Pictures > My Pictures > Photostream > My Photo Stream saved there permenatly?   Or are they removed after the 30 day/1000 photo limit?  The file path says they are on the hard drive and not on the web.
    2) If they are not saved there permently, are they saved permenatly somewhere else?
    3) If this is just how the Photostream works, then how can I have these photos automatically backed up to my Windows PC hard drive so I can delete them from my iOS devices.  If this is not included in the Photostream on PC service, what other software can I use to do this automatically once a picture is on PhotoStream?  Am I reading the apple.com/icloud web site incorrectly?
    HELP!  lol Thanks in advance!

The 30 day limit is how long they remain in iCloud, not on your devices.  After 30 days, photo stream photos are removed from iCloud and are no longer available to download to any new device connecting to your photo stream.
A rolling collection of up to 1000 photos will stay on your iOS devices until your delete them.  When you delete them from photo stream on any of your devices, they are deleted everywhere.  If you plan to do this, copy the photos from your photo stream folder on your computer to another location first.
Apple's documentation is a bit unclear about whether or not the 1000 photo limit applies to a PC (they can be set to automatically import to an iPhoto library on a Mac where they are not deleted).*  As you device approaches 1000 photos, you might want to take some test photos to cross this limit to see if the earliest photos are deleted from your computer.
    *From (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486):
"Since your Mac and PC have more storage than your iOS devices, you can choose to have all of your My Photo Stream photos automatically downloaded. In iPhoto or Aperture preferences on your Mac, be sure to select Photo Stream > My Photo Stream > Automatic Import. All of your photo stream photos will be imported into your Events, Projects, Photos, Faces, and Places folders in iPhoto or Aperture. On your PC with Photo Stream enabled in the Control Panel, all of your photos will be imported into C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream."

  • How do automatic backups work?

The new version of pages likes to save what I'm working on. This process usually interrupts me for a minute or so perhaps because I keep most of my stuff on my iDisk. I also find identical copies of my documents named 'Backup of (document name).pages.'
I'm sure all of this is intended to be helpful. For me it's confusing and annoying. How do I make it stop?

The files named Backup of (document name).pages aren't new objects.
You got them because the preference pointed by the yellow arrow is checked on your machine.
About the Autosave feature which is a Lion one implemented in iWork apps, my point of view is that a safety feature which may be disabled is no longer a safety one.
So, I hope that Apple will not give a way to disable it.
If you don't want it to apply (which is playing with matches),
    open your document
    File > Duplicate
    Close the original document.
This way, you will work on a document which was never saved so Autosave will not apply.
But don't come here crying because you lost your work if you do that.

  • How to automate backup?

    Dear buddies,
I have a bunch of scripts being used by the Windows Scheduler to run the backup at night. It involves a bat file, an SQL file and a Rsv File.
Is there a way just to use DBMS Scheduler alone?
    Please advice me.
    Thank You in advance.
    With Cheers!

Use os scheduling, it will be more reliably.Although Arup Nanda suggests to use Oracle Scheduler instead of OS cron, I would also prefer OS scheduling :)
    Here's what Arup says:
What about those rather common DBA scripts that require a database login—for statistics collection, index rebuilding, and so on? Traditionally DBAs use the cron (or AT, in Windows) job approach to run jobs, but there are two risks here:
*1. If this script needs to login to the database—and most DBA scripts do—the userid and passwords must be placed in the script or somehow passed to the script. So, anyone with access to this script will be able to learn the password.*
*2. Worse, anyone with access to the server can issue a ps -aef command and see the password from the process name.*
You need to protect the password from being exposed!

    Hello Samrat,
       Please review the SAP note:
431508 SAP WebAS - using DB13C or DB13 for SAP DB systems
You could monitor the database on your Solution Manager system, for example.
    Please review the documentation at
http://maxdb.sap.com/currentdoc/default.htm -> Basic Information -> Concepts of the Database System -> Administration -> Backing Up and Restoring
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/maxdb

    "Automating Administration Tasks" at http://maxdb.sap.com/currentdoc/b3/c73142680d5c33e10000000a155106/content.htm
If you are SAP customer, a detailed description of this transaction 'DBA Planning Calendar' <DB13> is available in the SAP documentation under the following link:

  • How do i backup the list of load images automatically exceptions under Options- Content. I want to transfer to another comp without re-adding one at a time

How do i backup the list of load images automatically exceptions under Options->Content. I want to transfer to another comp without re-adding one at a time. EVen if there is no way to backup, what is the system file for Firefox that stores these, so i can transfer this file or open it in an XML or similar editor to copy them out?

The permissions.sqlite file stores 'allow' and 'block' exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and extensions (software) installation.

  • How to make automatic backups of NW Portal systems?

    Hi All,
We have SAP CRM, ECC and NW Portal using MaxDB databases.
For DB Backups and monitoring, we are using Database Studio.
But in this DatabaseStudio, we have no calendar and no automatic backups is possible. In SAP ECC and CRM, we can access the tcode DB13 which give us acces to the DBA Planning Calendar.
Connecting on ECC or CRM backends, we can then plan automatic backups.
But for Portal I dont' find how to use a calendar for automatic backups.
I saw that in DB13, you can select the system you want to backup. Would it be possible to add the Portal and to manage all systems, including portal, in on single backend point? If yes, how can I add portal system / db to this DB13 menu?
If not, do you know if there is any other way to have automatic backups of NW Portal? Or any external tool we can use for doing this?
Thank you in advance for your help,
    Xavier Monnet.

You can put any database in DBACOCKPIT and schedule centrally using DB13C.
    > If not, do you know if there is any other way to have automatic backups of NW Portal? Or any external tool we can use for doing this?
For bigger production environments I'd suggest getting an external backup too and schedule everything centrally.
Be aware that especially in a Java environment (such as a portal) it's not enough to just backup the database, you have to backup the filesystem content at the same time to be able to restore your system in case of a failure. If you have just the database backup this won't help.

  • How long does it take for iCloud to automatically backup?

I understand that when you plug in your iPhone, i Cloud will automatically backup.. when does it begin the backup process? As in how long after it has been plugged in does it begin to back up data such as pictures from the phone?

If you have an iCloud backup, it's hard to tell when it's going to start with the backup process. It will be at least once a day, and from my experience, it seems to be when nothing else is goimg on with the iPad. However, if you want to start that process yourself, you can do so by gping to Settings, then iCloud, then Backup, then Back Up Now. That way you can pick the backup to start any time you want.

    Hi,
To schedule automatic backups, use any operating system or third party task scheduling software to run the supplied backup script for your platform.
    For Windows
    C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\BIN\BACKUP.BAT

  • How to schedule script to automate backup of CAS/CAM

    Hi Team,
I want to configure automate backup of CAS/CAM Device on any free server available in network.
Is there any script or setting we can configure on these devices

    Hi Amir,
You can take the Create SSAS database XMLA script and run the job to create the cube. The script contains the Metadata definition of the Database and it does not contain the actual data.
Pros: Since you are only creating an empty cube the script will run faster
Cons: You still need to process the created cube to use it for reports.
Fastest option is to take the backup of the cube and restore wherever necessary.
And you can also use TFS source control to deploy the cube and process it later.

  • How does TextEdit's automatic backup work?

Yesterday I was writing a document in TextEdit, which I had not yet saved. My Mac crashed and I had to switch it off by keeping the Power button pressed for several seconds.
Now I would like to know if there is any way to recover the document that I was writing. My TextEdit is set to perform automatic backups, but because I never saved the file, I don't know where to look.
Is there any chance to recover the document or do I have to start from scratch again?

    Nope.
