How to automatically  size web pages for 27 inch i-mac

I am trying to get my new 27 inch I mac to size web pages to be the same size as screen. Currently, only the middle section of screen does web pages appear.

Look in the View menu for Safari. The last item in that menu should be "Enter Full Screen", keyboard shortcut Command-Control-F. Give that a try.

  • How do I get Firefox to automatically size web pages?

Seems to me one of the features of html is that it's the browser's job to resize the page to the current window, if possible. New Win8.1 machine, newly installed Firefox, doesn't seem to do that (consistently, if at all.) Any option to do this?

O.P.: I should point out there's a BIG difference between "zooming" to fit, and "sizing" to fit. A browser can and should adjust spacing between elements, and even re-arrange elements, to get the page to fit, if possible. Sometimes it's not possible, because the page has specified the formatting. In my case, it seems like FF '''never''' gets it right. Even this very page has the scroll bar at the bottom, which should be completely unnecessary.

  • HT201317 How do I create a web page for my slideshow?

I created a slideshow.  I exported it, so now it is in my iTunes...and where else, I admit I do not know.  When I exported it, I didn't understand where I was exporting TO.
Anyway, I know I saw somewhere that I can create a web page for my slideshow that will allow my family to come (by invitation) to view the slideshow.
    How do I do this?
Any help will be appreciated since I spent about 12 hours putting this show together and now would like to share it with my family.
    Thanks!
    peace.

That's done with iPhoto in creating a Shared Photo Stream with the video. The slideshow must be in iPhoto. Then follow the steps in this screenshot:

  • How tall is a web page?

So we're doing pages 900+ pixels wide these days, but I'm wondering how much vertical content we can use before the user has to start scrolling - what he/she first sees when the page loads. Is there a rule of thumb (or mouse finger) for this?

It's true that you need to make an educated guess about the people who will be viewing the site.
For instance, if you know for a (relative) fact that they all use 12 inch monitors and IE6, that gives you an idea of what to shoot for.
If you have a sense that they all have wraparound monitors (surely someone will invent them) that are 36 inches on the diagonal and the latest, greatest Browsers, that tells you something else.
You can get general statistics about Monitor usage from w3c http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_display.asp Allowing for a vertical scrollbar and top of the Monitor screen material (toolbars, etc.), you can kind of guess at the actual Viewport sizes.
If you want to keep people on your page, and not scrolling to kingdom come (how tall is a web page? how high is the sky?), there are strategies:
Make the header stable and the container below it scrollable within a container so it looks like it's all on the screen...
    Make the page short
Make the page liquid, so it doesn't hang off the page on small monitors or cower in the corner of larger monitors
Use Spry Tabbed Panels, or Spry Accordions, or other Spry content techniques
You can imitate Browser/Monitor Viewport sizes by doing Window > Cascade and adjusting the size of the floating window manually (drag the right bottom corner). The size of the Viewport will show at the right side of the Tag Selector at the bottom of the Document Window (1038 x 628, for instance).

Firefox can have multiple home pages if you wish. Each home page that will open when starting Firefox is separated by the "|" character.
    See: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
To have new tabs open a specific web site, add one of the following extensions:

  • How to double space in Pages for iPad?

How to double space in Pages for iPad?

Double spacing is double spacing whether you are using Pages or Word. Double spacing is dependent upon the font size that you are using in the document no matter which word processing app that you use.
Pages on the iPad has limited fonts and chances are pretty good that if you import a Word file into Pages on the iPad, there will be some formatting or font issues.
But once again, Helvetica in Pages is pretty much the same Helvetica as you would be using in Word. If you use a font in Word that is not available in Pages, you will see a warning message that some elements of the original document have been changed.

  • How to change the web page title of a web dynpro app?

    Hello,
I would like to change the HTML page title of a web dynpro application without renaming the application component itself - but how?
    Thanks for your comments!

    Hi M Walter,
Assuming you are using Web Dynpro Java, you can change the title of the Web Page for Web Dynpro App by adding the title to the main window of your app.
Go to Windows and open the properties. There will be a field called 'title'. Give the title you want, save, build, DC->Build and deploy.
The title you gave to this Window will be displayed as the title of your Web page.

  • How to set custom master page for social/sites.aspx in sharepoint 2013

    Hi,
You could open the sites.aspx in Notepad or SharePoint designer, and set the master page to your own master page directly via editing:
    <%@ Page language="C#" MasterPageFile="~masterurl/custom.master"      Inherits="Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.FollowedContentWebPartPage,Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal,Version=15.0.0.0,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c"

  • Do Web pages for phones have to be Apps?

I do not own a mobile phone that is web enabled, and I never designed a web page for phones, but now due to the steep learning curve, I need a quick fix.
Reading the help in Dreamweaver 5.5, there is lots of information about creating the best  mobile sites, though at the moment, I don't understand a lot of it - but that's my fault.
However, when I use someone else's phone to look at most existing sites that are just designed for computers to view, the phone has facilities that make the sites available.
Lots of zooming and such which is a pain, but you usually can view them.
It occurred to me that perhaps there is a position mid way between a stock web site and a fully fledged phone app could be a stop gap solution until the whole mess of media queries, and other phone related stuff is understood.
My suggested solution is as follows:
Provide seperate sets of pages for both types at suitable sizes ( max 320 wide for mobiles).
Keep all graphics for phone pages to a minimum size and well optimised to allow for quick page loading.
1.On the index page of the site, put a large link to the phone pages and one to the computer pages so that its easily seen by phone users
    2. Design the index page and all phone pages so that the content would fit on a 320 pixel wide screen.
    3. Have the first page after the index purely as the menu screen, with a list of links.
    4. Each link leads to a deck of stacked pages that that are serially linked back and forth, with a "return to first page" on each one, with the navigation being at the bottom (or the top?) of the page.
To view pages, the phone user would have to select the phone link on the site's index page, then select from the menu to get to the first page of a topic. He can then flick through the linked set of pages and go back to the menu from any. The pages would fit most mobile phones, and no phone specific stuff wopuld be needed.
I appreciate that this method would not provide the most sparkling of mobile web sites, and would require two sets of pages, which is a maintenance problem, but it ought to help phone users to surf my site until I can get up to speed with the mobile stuff.
Question is - would it work?
    Your comments please?

Frankly, if you simply do a website using HTML5, you're set for a mobile device. And Dreamweaver 5 and 5.5 both give you code-hinting and definitions for HTML5/CSS3.
jQuery would be the "app" side of that, though if you are really looking to make an application that works on a mobile phone, your best method is to do it in Flash and then compile it using Air. Adobe has a complete discussion of what's required here.
    Hi mhollis55
Could you tell me why you describe the jQuery mobile framework as an app?
The framework uses html5, css3 and ARIA, and is designed to make the creation of mobile friendly web pages easier for those who do not wish to commit themselves to learning all the mobile specific features required by modern smartphones and now even supports many of the older smartphone devices, see - http://jquerymobile.com/

  • Archive Web Page for Off Line Use

    Hi all,
I'm currently enrolled in an online music program where I have to review/study web pages for my course instruction. These pages contain standard HTML text, graphics, mp3s, multiple flash applications and quite often embedded quick time movies. To date to back these pages up I have physically printed each page and then discretely downloaded and saved all mp3s, flashes, and quick time movies. However, as I'm sure you can guess, this leads to a very disjointed "archive" of paper product, separate quick time movies, and flash applications. So here's the question:
Is anyone aware of an archive utility that will save a web page like above in it's entirety onto my mac for off line use? I have seen a few web archive tools like I'm looking for, but all appear to be for Windows or older versions of mac OS. So any direction would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rick.

    Hi
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Give this utility a try. The way this works. After you install the app. in your Applications folder, open it. A panel appears.
Then go back to Safari. Open the web page you want to archive. File>Save As. When the panel opens make sure the drop down menu is set to "Web Archive". Then go to the location where you saved that page. Move the web archive file onto the Utility's panel. This will create a folder with the various web components for that web site.
Also, either update your tag to your current version of OS X Leopard, or if 10.5.2 is correct, consider upgrading to 10.5.5 via Software Update.
