How to automatically switch on debugging ??

Hi ,
Whenever we restart the machine and debugging mode is switched off and we have to always switch it on manually from the NDS.
Is there some configuration awailable so that when we restart the machine and start the server it always starts with debugging switched on ?

Hi Balaji,
open the Config Tool, select the desired instance_IDxxx->server_IDxxx. There's a tab "Debug", after selecting it set "Debuggable" and "Enabled debug mode" to checked.
Restart the server.

In System Preferences > Network settings unlock the settings as an admin user and then click the 'Location' popup (normally set to Automatic by default).
Create a new 'location', then tweak the settings & apply them. Repeat this for the other collection of network settings with another 'location'. The Locations can be switched as needed in the 'Apple menu > Location' (this appears when you have multiple locations.

My iphone does not automatically switch off the display light when locked. How do I fix this?

I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 8.2 software.
My iPhone does not automatically switch off the display light when it is locked. Therefore, if I get an e-mail/text message/pop-up from other application, the light just stays on, which obviously drains my battery.
The problem just started yesterday, and it has been a couple of days since I updated the software, so I wouldn't think the software update is the problem.
I have tried restarting the phone (using home and lock button), but that did not work.
Something else that seems weird is that once in a while, a blue beam rolls over the screen from one side to the other. I don't know why it does this, and have no idea whether this is related to the display light issue.
I hope someone is able to help by telling me what to do in order to get my phone to act normal again.

User complained if node 1 of OracleRAC1 gets down, automatic switch over to RAC2 is not occuring and connection error occured.

Oracle version 11.1.0.6
Users are connect via Tomcat Application server with Oracle RAC having 2 nodes in it.
Users don't receive data if node 1 (RAC1) goes down. connection error message.
Where as if RAC2 is down user can still connect to RAC1 and can retrieve data.
Outside note- I want to understand the difference with Public and VIP of Oracle. My current understanding and correct me if I'm wrong, users are connected with RAC1 Public IP and in case of failure , VIP of RAC1 take over and eventually RAC2 and so on....

How do I stop automatically switching to calendar when a new invitation arrives?

In Mac OS Mountain Lion, whenever I receive an invitation via email, the OS automatically switches to Calendar once Mail has passed it over. This means that when I'm typing a note, my Mac suddenly switches to Calendar without any warning. This is incredibly annoying.
I have already gone into each of my calendars and ticked the "Ignore Alerts" option - but the problem still remains. I am reluctant to deselect the option in Mail to pass invitations to Calendar automatically, because then I'd miss lots of appointments.
Is there anything else I can do to stop this behaviour?

Hmm. OK. You have to appreciate I'm hypothesizing here. I don't use iCal and I'm not entirely sure what that switch does, but if you're game for a bit of (safe) experimenting, read on.
What I'd like to know is whether reversing that switch gets you the desired behaviour. If it doesn't, we'll just switch it straight back.
1. The switch is only a preference setting and can't cause any harm to your data or machine. Even so, it's always a good idea to backup your system before you mess with anything in case of unpredictable results, so please do that before trying any of the following.
2. Once you've backed up, copy and paste the following into Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.iCal NSDontMakeMainWindowKey YES
Press 'return' on your keyboard.
3. Restart the mac (you MUST do this).
4. Arrange (or wait) for someone to send you an iCal invitation or event and see what happens. If the same behaviour occurs OR you notice any unusual/undesirable behaviour of iCal in the meantime, put the preference back to the default by using the same command as above, but replacing the 'YES' with 'NO' and then restart the mac again.
Obviously, on the other hand, if it solves the problem, leave the preference as it is and let us all know so we can pass it on to others.

How can I automate switch configuration

I am looking for a way to automate switch configurations. I want to create a standard configuration that I can apply to all new switches. What methods (software, scripts etc) are available to automate the configuration process? Ideally, the system would download and install a standard image and then apply a baseline config, which I could modify as needed after initial install.

How to automatically log in on a MacBook Pro when there is more than one user

We have 4 users on our MacBook Pro.
How can we switch between users without having to log on each time?
I have found the "Disable Automatic Login" option in Systems Preferences have have unchecked it but I still get asked each time we switch between users - is this setting universal for all users once set, or does it need to reset when in each user profile?

You are correct about iPhoto - sorry. It does look like local sharing has been removed in favour of iCloud sharing. It's something I did so rarely that I thought it was still there. You can export & copy items between libraries but it is less useful now (I'm not a fan of iCloud).
User home folders are designed to prevent other users seeing your stuff. It's why each user gets their own password.
You can give another user files via their /Users/username/Public/Dropbox folder (or go via the /Users/Shared).
The 'Shared' folder is within /Users - that can be used for all users. Some apps store media in there when it is needed by all users (Apples Motion did this for a while).
Applications are 'system wide' so any user can use them so long as they have access to that folder - all users have access to /Applications by default.
To be honest the default behaviour is generally setup correct with all of this… just install apps to /Applications & all users can use them.
If you need some privacy - put it in your home folder.
If you need everyone to access - put it in shared.
If you are having to think hard about how to make something work you may be going about it wrong - ask for a sanity check of your workflow via these discussions

How do I switch my main and second iClound accounts?

This is not a problem with a @me account (which I don't have), but just I actually have to Apple IDs: one on the French store, associated with a credit card and that I use the most, the other one on the Korean store, with no credit card, and that I use only for the apps I cannot get through the French one.
After the latest update for Lion on my Mac, it asked me to sign in for iCloud, which I did using my French account. The same thing happened after updating to iOS5 on my iPhone: I chose the French account when prompted with the question.
But for some reason, I now have 2 accounts in "Mail, Contacts and Calendar" on the iPhone (not on the Mac): the first on the list (and which is considered the main one by the phone) is the Korean one (why??), with all the settings turned of except "Find my iPhone". The second one is the one I just set up with my French ID, and this one has a few options turned on, but is missing Photo Stream, Documents and BackUp, as it says this is only available for my main account.
How do I switch these two accounts? I tried to click on "delete the account" at the bottom of the page for the one that is considered as the main by the phone (Korean ID), so that I can sign in again with the real main ID (French one), but then it tells me that everything that has been stored on the cloud will be removed from the phone… So I am not too sure about what to do. I guess "deleting" the Korean one won't change much because all the options are turned off. But then what happens with the other account? Will it automatically become the main one and get the options that were missing? Do I have to sign in again on the same page with the proper address?

From what it sounds like, you are pretty new to making websites and managing where the files get put for hosting. All hosts are somewhat different. I use Godaddy for hosting for the most part.
To be sure you are doing the right thing, you need to ensure the following are in order:
- Your domain namesneed to point to the right place on your hosting account
If your domain names are not pointing to your hosting account with the right DNS settings, they will not display properly when you go to your website name in your web browser.
- Your FTP settings need to be set correctly
If you have a shared hosting space to host multiple websites, you will need to be sure that you are uploading the files for each website into the right folders. Your folders on your hard drive that contain your websites should pretty much be set up the same way as you are uploading them onto your hosting account.
For convenience purposes, I have my domain name registration and hosting account through Godaddy. This helps to keep things simple enough that I can call them 24/7 to give me assistance when I need help configuring settings like this.

There is no "adding" a device. Simply plug the iDevice into the computer. iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit.

I'm not the author of the confusion. How quickly have we forgotten that the only 9.99 plan that existed prior to the Photography Bundle was the single app plan and $9.99 was the first year price of that $19.99 plan**. Photoshop CC was ONE such single app plan. A reasonable read of the above statement is that everyone who already subscribed under the $9.99 plan was going to be transitioned automatically. It sounds like Adobe has clarified that statement in the typical incomplete fashion. Only people with perpetually licensed Photoshop CS3, 4, 5, 5.5 or 6 are eligible. It matters not to me since I have Photoshop CS3, 5 and 6. I'm wondering whether people who purchased CS2 and then a subsequent UPGRADE package (rather than a full version) are eligible! All I know for sure are the following:

Downloads are huge.
The Creative Cloud application that is used to install and upgrade is a constant source of failure and frustration regardless whether you're a Mac or Windows user.
Items that Adobe tantalized me with so I'd sign up 4 months ago are still not delivered (Desktop Fonts version of the TypeKit). Only beta people can use the Font feature - and then one finds that of the 935 available fonts (not thousands), only 205 are allowed to be used on the desktop. Google has a similar quantity of fonts with no restrictions, and at least one major font supplier has a means to use a webfont in Photoshop for doing mock ups. Adobe doesn't have this! Of course the Font feature isn't part of the Photography Bundle - but who know what is REALLY in the bundle...

MacBook Pro won't automatically switch between internal speakers and display audio

I have a MacBook Pro that connects to a LED Cinema display. It used to automatically switch between internal speakers and display audio when plugged in to the display but won't anymore. I have to manually change it in System Preferences --> Sound. Does anyone know how to make it do that again?

I just want to add, I have the same problem, and just want to help raise awareness of it.
1st, the problem only started recently (have been using the Thunderbolt display since it was released), I did not have this problem, and noticed it beginning only in the last month. (since January)
2nd, My particular setup, includes a hard drive attached to the firewire port on the back of the Thunderbolt Display (so, I am wondering if anyone else experienced this problem with a firewire drive being connected).
     My full setup:
          Macbook Air (2011)
         Thunderbolt display
          Western Digital drive (attached to firewire of display)
3rd, If I go into settings, what I will see is the "Display Audio" is selected (but no sound coming out),
If I then select "Internal Speakers," a buffered "history" of all the sounds I did not hear is then played (pretty funny actually) - for example, if I sent mail, adjusted the volume, and started playing a song.... it immediately plays all those sounds when selecting "Internal Speakers"
4th, If i then select "Display Audio" - it does nothing
5th, what I have to do, to resolve this is: eject all my hard drives, disconnect the thunderbolt cable, then reconnect the thunderbolt cable, and everything works as normal.
