How to avoid additional cut in multicam editing?

When I cut multicam and switch camera angles, an additional cut is made in the timeline when I stop playback. furthermore, the camera angle switches as well. That is totally nonsense! How can I avoid it? I use Premiere Pro CS6. Please don't recommend CC!

I had a live chat with the support and they told me that this is a known issue = error. So it is not designed but bad programmed and must be changed. I did a little research and found many complains about this "feature". One is this: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/738084?start=0&tstart=0
There are tons of those "designs" in all Adobe products. I could open several threats in the forum. I could live with some of them but I paid much money for the software and can expect that basic functions work as they have to do. And this is not an unwanted multicam cut or a half-working search function, for example.

Hi Sreevidhya,
In the collection renderer that you are using in the layout, there are 2 collection renderer.
One for display on the tab and the other for display inside the tab content.
Edit the one for display on the tab, for the parameter Style Safe = Yes
Check the layout now.

How to sync audio to existing multicam edit?

Hi, I have done a multicam edit of my wedding from 4 different angles. SInce there was a lot of background noise, I have cleaned the audio track from one of the clips on an external program and imported it to FCPX.
What's the best way now to sync that audio to the existing edit? I only see options to sync clips in the event browser but that won't affect the timeline edit.

Do you know the best way to set markers when using multi cam clips? Is it better to set the marker to one of the clips before creating the multi cam clip, or set them to the actual multi cam clip?

Popping sound between cuts in multicam edit

Hello,
I have a multicam project with two cameras. Each camera have 1.5 hours of footage.
I have finished the syncing, cutting, color correction and audio adjustments and the final project is 1.5 hour long.
After I had finished a very tedious and long edit of the sound (by adjusting sound levels from the camera I use sound from) I came back to the angle switcher timeline and found that in between cuts I now hear this "popping" sound. I can hear the cut.
I have spent so many hours on this project at this point and thought I was finally done, but this issue is really noticeable and makes it hard to watch the cuts as I find the popping sound disturbing and it really makes the cuts feel more like "jump cuts".
Before I started to adjust the audio, the cuts were fine in the angle viewer timeline, with no popping sounds in between.
How can I resolve this issue?

Hi Srinivas,
You can use RKD_WORD_WRAP or TEXT_SPLIT FM to split the string into N character with out word break.

How do I reveal the cut points when editing Adobe Connect recording?

Since the roll-out of AC 9.1, when I edit the timeline of a recording I see the timeline of the position of my cursor ON TOP OF the timeline point of the cut points, therefore I can't see where I'm about to cut a recoring. How to see the cut points when editing the timeline?

Hi Kevin,
There is a know bug for the black marker overlapping the time-line with a black marker.
But we have a trick to help you do your editing effectively. Follow the steps mentioned below and you will be able to edit your recording with precision:
1. Pause the recording from where you want to start your editing.
2. Double Click on the LEFT marker. It will take both the markers to that point on the recording timeline.
3. Play the recording and pause the recording again at the point till where you want to edit the recording.
4. Double Click on the RIGHT marker. It will take the right marker to the end point of your to-be-recording.
5. Cut and Save.

Multicam editing with Transitions

Hi. Does anyone know if its possible to have FCP use a default transition (e.g. a Cross Dissolve) rather than the standard cut whilst Multicam editing?
It is easy enough to go back and drop in a dissolve on each edit point, but we are working with shows and concerts sometimes >3 hours so it's a bit time consuming! It would be great if FCP could automatically use a cross dissolve - any ideas?

Just getting started with FC Studio 5.1, and successfully used it to do a short multicam edit. After adding a cross dissolve at every angle cut, saving the project, and later re-opening the project, I can no longer use the multiclip in the viewer to change angles in the timeline. Is this due to the addition of the transitions, or to having ended the edit session, and later coming back to it?
Btw, the multiclip was created and synchronized without the use of a common time code, which was not available.

I think you're selecting clips in the timeline… not in the browser, which is where you need to work when you create multi clips. .

How do I perform a multicam edit in PPro CS6 using Plural Eyes?

So I'm new to multicam editing in CS6. I've recently upgraded from CS3 (yeah, it's been awhile). I'm editing a wedding on a Windows 7 machine with mostly DSLR's (start and stop clips). My workflow was going to be to sync through Plural Eyes and then all the clips would be synced on the timeline and I could create a multicam sequence from there. But apparently, you can't do that like you could in CS3. It seems that multicam was easier to do in CS3 almost. Has anyone been able to sync multiple DSLR clips on the timeline and use the multicam feature? I would love to be able to do this but not sure how to go about it or if it's even possible. Thanks for any of your help!

CS6 does add an additional method of creating a multicam sequence, but the old method there from the beginning still works just fine.

Hi. can anyone explain how to do multi camera editing to me please. This will be the first time we have tried this and would love to know the pitfalls and what you have to do to make it work well. We are doing it on DV even though it was shot on digi beta then will conform the final edit.

The video is pretty boring in the beginning because the speaker talks about the benefits of being certified. Who wants to hear that?!? But afterwards the video is pretty informative. It's kind of funny he goes off about being certified in the beginning but during the tutorial he fumbles trying to find certain menu options.

How to extend clips after multicam editing.

I recently learned how to use multicam editing and I think it is such a fantastic tool. One of the things that I struggled with, however, is the ability to extend/shorten one of the clips because the footage was too shaky during the transition to another clip.
For example: Clip A is playing and recording on the timeline. But Clip A becomes shaky so I switch to Clip B. After everything is done, and I play it back, I see that shaky footage towards the end of Clip A.
How do I extend Clip B so that it extends over Clip A to get rid of the shaky footage?

this is likely caused by the library requiring check-out/check-in. For a file to be editable, the file needs to be checked out.

Best Practices CS6 - Multicam Edit: How to use a key?

I'm trying to figure out what's the best way to use the Multi-cam editing function of CS6 PP, while applying a key to the primary video track.
The workflow I have is V1 contains the background that I want to key into V2. I applied UltraKey to V2, did the key (works great), and now I want to use the multicam editing to cut between the finished keyed V2 track, and video on V3. The way I've always used the Multicam editing in the past is to select the video clips from the clip browser (not the timeline) to create a multicam source sequence - but if I have to apply a key first, I can't do that. I thought of nesting V1 and V2 together after the key is applied, but then I can't make adjustments to the key after the final composite is made (or can I?)
Any thoughts about what works best in this scenario? appreciate the help.

I don't think my system could support live keying. I'd prefer to apply the key first but this is where I had a problem. Let's assume for a minute that there's no key. In a typical MCS workflow, I'd just select the clips from the browser, create the MCS, do the live cuts and be done with it. If I can still do that it's fine, but would that screw everything up in the MCS if I move all the video up one track because the background for the key has to be in front of the video that it's being applied to? I hope I'm making sense here.

Hi,
I'm using 10.0.7. It's like snapping won't turn off. Instead ,if i use the keyboard to nudge the clips, there's no problem. I am using that at the moment.
