How to avoid annoying popups under Linux

I'm trying to run our application from Linux with the latest Firefox, but I'm receiving dozens of popups I cannot suppress (see attachment). How to disable these popups? Thx

Hi Tibor,
Unfortunately, this are from JRE due to applets present in your screen and cannot be suppressed due to security issue.
Anyways, you can try some settings from Control Panel>>JAVA to check if you can reduce the no. of popups.
Thanks and Regards,
Swaroop

  • How can I install InDesign under Linux?

    Hello,
    Because Microsoft stopped service for Windows XP, I changed the OS to Linux (currently Ubuntu to ease the change). A lot of software have alternatives under Linux, but I want to work with InDesign (currently CS6) furthermore. Is there a special (new) software version available directly from Adobe (I found only Win and Mac versions). Or is a script for Wine (or other emulator software) available? Thanks for any help or comment.

    adobe makes no linux version of any of its software.  you'll need to use a front-end like wine, WineHQ - Adobe InDesign

  • How to remove annoying POPUPS ON STARTUP C:\Windows\System32\igfxtray.exe

    Hi -
    After I on intel.com tried to upgrade my graphic driver Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family my screen at startup shows a popup-box with the text:
    C:\Windows\System32\igfxtray.exe
    I am asked to "Run" or "Cancel" but no matter what I choose the exact same popup is shown on startup again and I have to Click 3 times on Cancel to get the box disappear - It doesnt seem to influence on my use of the laptop but its a little annoying that its shows up.
    On windows.com help forum I have followed some suggestions without help except the suggestion on open Regedit because many have told med not to mess around in the Regedit
    I have with no succes asked this question on a forum within intel.com
    Has anyone a suggestion what to do?
    Thanks in Advance
    DonOlesen

    Hi
    The igfxtray.exe seems to belongs to Intel driver and this file is a part of quick access software to the control panel via a System Tray icon for graphics based upon the Intel.
    Usually you should see a small Intel display icon in the task bar in the right lower corner.
    The igfxtray.exe controls this.
    So you can also disable this in msconfig.
    In search type msconfig. Then choose StarUp tab and choose remove the mark from the entry containing the igfxtray.exe
    Now save the changes and reboot the unit
    That should disable this popup.

  • Required Validation: How to avoid Annoying Validation Message

    Hi friends,
    I have a situation where i don't want to see the validation until i click commit button. I found out through some googling that if SkipValidation= true is set on pageDef file then you won't have that issue. And yes it seems working for form/sub-form case but i am dealing with attribute in the table:
    When i insert new row in the af:table or clear value of an existing required attribute then the validation error popup and won't let me go anyway. And according to Andrejus blog at http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2012/09/what-to-do-when-adf-editable-table.html , we can achieve this using immediate= true for the table attribute itself. But I am kind of worried that i will skip some adf life cycle doing that. I was wondering if there is some other may be out of box way like skipValidation for table as well.
    Thanks
    JDEV: 11.1.1.6.0

    Hi Timo,
    Sorry not helpful at all, i have already mentioned in my question that, skipValidation = true approach won't work for editable table only for form/sub-form and only working solution i have it setting table attribute to immediate, but i was looking to see if any other approach is there which is better then immediate = true, since i will skip some life cycle if i do so.
    Thanks

  • How to avoid security note popup?

    Hi,
    I have two BSP Applications, which I start from SRM Enterprise Buyer via new window. I have created an internet service user, which I put in the ICF service of the application.
    Here goes the question.
    In one of my BSPs the new window appears like expected. In the otherone I get a popup message (I must translate this from German to English, but I hope you get the contents):
    The popup says:
    <i>Title: Security note
    You are about to turn to an insecure connection. data which has been sent to the prior site, will possibly be sent to the insecure site. Do you wish to continue?</i>
    Why is that? Both ICF entries use the same user and look the same - under security there is a radio at standard in both cases.
    The URL of the BSP without Popup looks like this:
    http://<host>:8028/sap/bc/bsp/sap/z_imp_all1/start.htm
    the one with popup like this:
    http://<host>:8028/sap(bD1kZSZjPTMwMQ==)/bc/bsp/sap/z_scan_pzn1/start.htm?sicht=pzn&username=MEYERM&HOOK_URL=https%3A%2F%2Fukmsapweb%2E<host>%2Ede%3A9211%2Fscripts%2Fwgate%2Fbbppu99354e5a01%2F%3F%7EOkCode%3DADDI%26%7Etarget%3D%5Ftop%26%7ECALLER%3DCTLG&OCI_VERSION=3%2E0&http_content_charset=iso%2D8859%2D1&returntarget=%5Ftop
    Any ideas, how to avoid the popup, welcome.
    regards, Matthias

    Hi Renald and Rainer,
    to Renald: Yes, I have also checked Internet options -- advanced, and unchecked the warning, when switching from save to unsave mode. I also unchecked the warning, if formular data is being redirected. Still this takes no effect. And anyway, I can't see the point, because from the same https page I've got two links which link to http-BSPs. One brings about the unwanted popup - the otherone, with apparently same settings does the security popup. The link itself is launched via JavaScript, like this:
    <a href="JavaScript:launchCTLG('PZN_Scan');" class="catalog" alt="PZN" title="PZN">PZN</a>
    to Rainer: I checked the note you gave. It contained a chm file. It also refers to the situation, that you get the popup message, when leaving https and turning to http. It also provides a solution like this:
    <iframe id="myIframe" src="JavaScript:void(0);"></iframe>
    In fact I can't change/modify the call of the URL - and it is already being called via JavaScript. The EBP page is SRM generated.
    I shall try to copy the BSP application, that works fine without popup, and then put in the code of the popup-version... and see what happens next.
    Thanks so far. I shall give feedback, when I have finished.

  • Program paths under linux

    Hallo,
    I need in my application to launch specific programs (common ones like firefox, adobe etc..). I could find the following posting, which gives the path of the installed software by passing the software name (like firefox.exe), under windows. My question is how to do the same under linux?!
    public class FindProgramOnWindows
         public String find(String exeName)
              String path = "";
              try
                   Process r = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("reg query \"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\" +"Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\App Paths\\" + exeName + "\"");
                   BufferedReader buffer = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(r.getInputStream()));
                   String line = "";
                   String exeNameRegexp = exeName.replaceAll("\\.", "\\\\.");
                   Pattern p = Pattern.compile(".+\\w:\\\\.+" + exeNameRegexp,Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE);
                   while ((line = buffer.readLine()) != null)
                        Matcher m = p.matcher(line);
                        m.matches();
                        if (m.matches())
                             String param[] = line.split("\t");
                             path = param[param.length-1];
                             break;
                   buffer.close();
              } catch (Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
              return path;
    }Thankefully

    As differemt Linux distributions install programs in different folders in combination with no central program registry, I would say that either you have to communicate with installation package managers (apt, rpm) or search in to common folders for the program name, e.g. /usr/bin /usr/local/bin /opt/bin ...

    Based on what the method's API doc says is returned,
    the file type description as it would be displayed by a native file chooser or null if no native information is available.
    It would seem that no native information giving this is available.

    You actually cannot do anything to your ipad when its locked but look at pictures the time and date, you need to restore it, and if it dosent let you restore, good luck chuck Heres how to restore it: Okay, i only know the itunes way soz, lol. Try to connect your ipad to itunes, if it does let you then you should be able to select the device you have in the corner somewhere, once you do that you should see a screen that looks sort of like your ipads setting, you should have a button that says "Restore" click that and your ipad should be restored. If that dosent work you should try going to your regular office depot or something. Good Luck!

  • How to enable OCR with Scangear MP under Linux for MG8250?

    Under Linux openSUSE 12.3 I use Scangear MP 1.80 for my Canon PIXMA MG8250.
    As a scan target (in my German GUI it's "Ziel") I can choose "OCR". But there is no text output, the scan is just saved as a picture. How can I configure Scangear to open the scan via Tesseract in a text editor.
    By the way, the target "Print" (in German "Drucken") leads to saving just as well, though there is at least one printer at hand, of course.
    It's a pity that the pixma scan drivers that are shipped with openSUSE don't work with xsane (the scanner starts working, but stops after one third of the page). Using xsane with a different scanner I can use OCR successfully.
    Volker

    There are two basic types of core OCR algorithm, which may produce a ranked list of candidate characters.
    Matrix matching involves comparing an image to a stored glyph on a pixel-by-pixel basis; it is also known as "pattern matching" or "pattern recognition". This relies on the input glyph being correctly isolated from the rest of the image, and on the stored glyph being in a similar font and at the same scale. This technique works best with typewritten text and does not work well when new fonts are encountered. This is the technique the early physical photocell-based OCR implemented, rather directly.
    Feature extraction decomposes glyphs into "features" like lines, closed loops, line direction, and line intersections. These are compared with an abstract vector-like representation of a character, which might reduce to one or more glyph prototypes. General techniques of feature detection in computer vision are applicable to this type of OCR, which is commonly seen in "intelligent" handwriting recognition and indeed most modern OCR software. Nearest neighbour classifiers such as the k-nearest neighbors algorithm are used to compare image features with stored glyph features and choose the nearest match.
    Software such as Cuneiform and Tesseract use a two-pass approach to character recognition. The second pass is known as "adaptive recognition" and uses the letter shapes recognized with high confidence on the first pass to better recognize the remaining letters on the second pass. This is advantageous for unusual fonts or low-quality scans where the font is distorted.
    So I wonder which kind of OCR algorithm are you using?

    If you keep your scripts on linux, there will be no ^M's.
    If you use FTP, set transfer type to ASCII. (ascii command)
    If you have scripts that show ^M's, you can get rid of them using vi(m) command:
    1,$s/ <CTRL>v <CTRL>m //
    (where <CTRL>-v means holding the CTRL button and pressing the "v" button, same for "m")
    !! Please mind that, whilst it doesn't give any errors most of the time, it can give very strange and unexpected errors in certain cases.
