How to avoid having to render...?

I am fairly new to editing and all it involves, so apologies if some of this is very obvious/basic stuff.
I often have to edit footage provided to me by other people, because of this i cannot control what cameras the footage is shot on or what format the files are delivered to me on. The files are generally wmv, MTS, or MP4 files. The bain of my life at the moment is having to constantly render files in Final Cut Express.
What do i need to do to avoid rendering? What settings do i need to amend? i am fairly comfortable with video converters, but i am not sure what settings need to be the same in FCE and the video clip so that they work harmoniously and without the need for editing...?

You'll find most of the basic information you need to know in the user's manual. Among that information is the fact that FCE works natively (no rendering) with only two codecs: DV and AIC. All other codecs need to be converted to one of those two PRIOR to importing into FCE.
You may want to look into purchasing FCP X (just released) which works natively with many, many more codecs.

Do I have to render every clip after I bring it in to the time line? When watching the tutorials it appears this is not necessary for certain types of vide files.

You need to get your media into a format with with which FCE works natively before you bring it into the program.
Depending on what format the camera shoots, you can probably use a free utility called MPEG Streamclip (http://www.squared5.com/) to convert.

How to avoid having to clean a portable class library every time?

WinRT Project Foo references a portable class library PCLFoo. Whenever a change is made to Foo and it is run (by pressing F5 or Ctr+F5), the following error occurs:
The type or namespace name 'PCLFoo' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
Everything will be fine after cleaning PCLFoo (right-click >Clean). Is there a way to avoid having to do this cleaning every time?

I am the domain administrator of my company. Recently one of my clients has re-installed his Windows and received a new certificate from CA, but the key pair of certificate is not same with previous one, so he lost his encrypted emails.
Now, I want to know if there is any way to avoid issuing a new certificate by certificate issuer and reassign the old certificate to a user who changed his Windows? What about when he has other devices like PDAs or smartphones that need unique certificate
installed on them in order to read encrypted emails on his Exchange mailbox with these devices?

To avoid having new certificates issued you have 3 choices:
1. Implement roaming profiles.
2. Implement credential roaming.
3. Configure the certificate template to publish to AD and then select the
option to not re-enroll if a certificate based on that template already
exists in AD.
For the BYOD option (and as a general best practice when dealing with
encryption certificates) you need to enable key archival and recovery on
the CA and then configure the certificate template to archive the private
key. When a user gets a new device, you recover the private key and provide
the user with a PFX file that can be installed on the new device.

I manage my agenda on both my MBP that I use at work, as my iPad. On both I sync with the outlook agenda that is used at work.
All fine, except for one annoying thing: when work invitations are send from outlook, they rightfully appear as inviations in both iCal for iPad as MBP.
However, when I accept or decline on one of them, the invitation still is there on the other. So, for example I decline on the iPad, the invitation is cleared, the agenda item is removed, and a message is send to the originator. Fine. BUT, on my MBP, the invitation and temp agenda item remains in iCal. So, in order to remove I have to decline again, hence send that message again to the originator. Not what I want!
Anybody knowing a solution?

If you are syncing to the same computer that you always sync to, and have each of the items in itunes that you want synced then you shouldnt have an issue. The only way you would have an app come off your phone is if you uncheck that app from syncing in th apps location in itunes.

Here's an easy way:
Pick the user that you want to eliminate (making sure that the remaining user has administrator privileges) and move all of the data that you want to keep into the Shared folder. Reboot or log out and login to the user you want to keep. Copy all the data from the Shared folder into your account - placing it neatly in folders (Documents, Music, Movies, etc.).
Once the data is moved, log into the account you want to delete just once more to make certain that you've grabbed all the data you want to keep. Log out and log back into your admin account and go to System Preferences>Users & Groups and delete the 'old' user.
That should do it.

You can not -- neither automatically or manually - you should never be in the masters folder and there is never a need to be - iPhoto is a SQLite database and it's database structure is determined by it (and changes from time to time) - use the supported access methods (direct access to the photo files is not supported and never has been) - either using iPhoto or using the media browser in the lower left hand corner of every open/attach/iupload window
It is CRITICAL that you NEVER make any changes of any sort to the structure or content of the iPhoto library using the finder or any program other than iPhoto

The only "unlimited" plan I can think of where this would not apply is the old Connect plan for multimedia/basic phones. That unlimited data, on devices such as the LG Voyager, EnvTouch, and other "multimedia" devices is not the same.
If you currently have an individual $29.99 unlimited data plan with a 3G Smartphone, then you can buy a BBQ10 retail and activate it with the same data plan and keep the unlimited.

I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard Server to Lion Server, all works well so far.
I had Snowleopard Server supplying the updates to my Snowleopard and Lion clients with no problems.

Thank you for your response. My operating system is XP. When I try to open a pfd document I just get a series of letters and symbols in a dialog box. The top of the box says "select the encoding that makes your document readable". I can choose Windows, MS-Dos, or other (there is a long list to choose from). None seem to make a difference. If I save the document to my desk top I can right click on it and choose an option "Open with AdobeReader 9" and it opens fine.

What operating system does your computer use? What happens when you attempt to open a PDF document rather than saving it first? Please include any/all error messages. Also, have you tried opening documents from other locations or just one in particular?

I think I didn't make myself clear. My bluetooth device is paired. If I turn the device OFF while keeping it ON in the iPhone 4, and later on come back and put the device ON, the iPhone doesn't find it. The solution is to turn it OFF in both the bluetooth device and the iPhone and start again, which was not the case with my previous iPhone 3 and is a real pain to have to do this each time...
