How to avoid loosing audio tracks from my ipod touch if i wanna update to OS 4.2
if i updated my iPod touch OS to 4.2 will i loose all audio tracks as i dont have them in my itunes library?? and how can i avoid that?
If yu can update:
- Transfer iTunes purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like on of those discussed here:
newer copy
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup. Your iPod wll also be updated.
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.

What you do is this; the next time your ipod is jacked to the USB port on you computer and it shows under "Devices" in your Itunes library. click on that folder (your ipod) and it will have eight folders above the Ipod's state.
That was step one; step two is once you see this bar above the ipod's state in the Ipod's folder under "devices" scroll down the horizontal bar until you see audiobooks
Itune's is very user friendly and will give you the option to pick and choose or pick all. to get the audio books off your ipod pick and choose the audio books you want on you're ipod -

We are evaluating the use of iPod touch devices to record best practice videos on our manufacturing floor and to post to an internal Moodle web site. How can you upload a video from the iPod touch to a site other than YouTube? The Moodle upload interface is expecting a file selection dialog box like windows or OSX. (music, movies, apps, etc.) To make music take up less room, you can check the box to make it convert the music to 128kbps AAC. This lowers the quality, but with most earbuds and speakers, you can't even tell the difference.

If the music on the iPod was purchased through iTunes you can try Transfer Purchases.
Connect the iPod to the Mac and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPod name on the left side of the iTunes window under the devices heading and select Transfer Purchases. That should transfer the music into the iTunes library on the Mac.

The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases
You need to copy everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
The ipod is ot a backup device. It simply irrors the selected content of your computer. -

okay, I read a lot of questions in a similar format but nothing has helped. Here is my situation and what I have done.
I have an iPod Touch and my computer crashed, I had to restore my system completly. I thought I had backed up my iTunes but I did not back up all of my content. However, the music I did not back up are on my iPod. How can I put my music from my iPod to my iTunes WITHOUT erasing my music I have on my iPod? Some of the music on my iPod I do not have anymore so I can't erase my music I have on my iPod.
I tried to "authorized" my computer/iTunes to my iPod but a pop up came up and said my computer was "already authorized". I also tried to back up my iPod but that did not do anything. I also went under iTunes and checked marked "manually manage music" but nothing works.

Started using iPhoto, now Macbook Pro crashes randomly
Hi, I started using iPhoto today to resize some photos. As soon as I tried to edit a photo or export a number of photos at one time the program crashes. A blue screen appears for a second and then I am brought back to the user login screen. I read on
