How to avoid messages going automatically to the archive folder in Apple Mail?

Dear list members, I've been using Apple Mail (version 7.3 (1878.6)) on my MacBook Pro 13" (9,2) (MacOS 10.9.4) for years to integrate my GMail, university, and other e-mail accounts in the imap mode. Since some weeks, Mail is behaving odd: some messages are sent automatically to the archive folder. That's quite annoying, as I have to move them manually back to the inbox folder, and sometimes I mess some messages. I did not change any config in Apple Mail or my e-mails servers. Could you please help me solve this problem? Thanks.

The Archive folder in Apple Mail is linked to the All Mail "label" in Gmail. A label is treated like an IMAP folder, but it really isn't the same thing.
In case you weren't aware, Gmail saves every email you send or receive inside the All Mail label. In Gmail, you can tag a file with multiple labels. So, a file that comes into Gmail appears in two places at once, the Inbox and All Mail. When you trash a file, the Inbox label is removed, but it still remains in All Mail.
Previously, the All Mail label was hidden from you in Mail. Apple has been trying to make Mail work with Gmail, but that hasn't been going well.
I have never had a problem, but I have both Gmail and Apple Mail set up such that any email I trash actually gets deleted and not stored on the Gmail server. I also have it set to no display the All Mail folder at all. This may not be a fix as others have similar setups, but have problems with Gmail.
This is how I set it up. I followed the original article, not the Part Deux article. However, you don't need to change the IMAP path prefixes or the label names in Gmail settings. I just have the part where I configured it to delete the emails when I trash them, and hid all the Labels I didn't care to see in IMAP.
Remember, this may not resolve your problems. I don't know of another "fix."

If so, go to your gmail webpage and sort it out there. You can disable its automatic sorting into Important and also disable presentation of this and other folders (e.g. All Mail) to your email client.

I have a better system, and it annoyingly leaves emails that I've already read, still marked as unread, even if just for a little while. It appears I can delete the folder, but how does one bring it back just in case?

Are you using gmail? I don't think this is a feature of mail.app in Lion. I know gmail implemented this "enhancement" a while ago. I turned it off in the gmail settings because it was annoying when using the web interface. It's possible that mail.app is now mirroring this "feature" of gmail.

I use Mountain Lion Mail and iOS Mail with a Gmail Account. Mountain Lion Mail puts Archived Messages in the [Imap]/Archive folder (and this special folder shows up in Mail), while iOS simply removed the Inbox label and puts it into the [All Mail] folder. Is there a way that I can make iOS mail archiving behave like Mountain Lion mail? I want my Archived Messages to go into the Archive folder on iOS, not the catch all [All Mail] folder.

You need to setup iMessage on one of the two phones using a different AppleID.

* "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Why is my Adobe Reader 11 going automatically to the background when i open an pdf file

Hello Guys,
We have a problem at a customer. If he opens an pdf file from his programm , then it is going automatically to the background.
We tried it with Adobe Reader 8 and that wasn't giving a problem, so anybody has an workaround for Adobe Reader 11 ?

Dear Pat,
We have internet explorer 9.0 (and we tried it with 10) and when we want to proceed with it, it opens for a second an goes to the background.
So it opens in the External Adobe Reader. But i know we can alt-tab it but it needs to be automatically and that worked just with Reader 8.
So do you have any idea of how we can fix this or is there a workaround available for this problem.

I am proving two diferents servers with messaging server. By default they check in DNS the confidents domains, so they do not acept inboun messages of the other. how can avoid rely configuration so that the servers accepts messages from all domains.

Trere any way or document to implement several domains whit messaging server schema 2 and delegated administrator, using only one server for all domains.
I create several domains whit the Delegated Administration, one.com and two.com. The one.com domain work perfectly. In the two.com domain I had created users, templates..... but when i tried to log into webmail of Sun Java System Messenger Express using a user of domain two.com , I cant because I think it is the same instance that domain one.com.

Add each server's ip address to the other server's "internal_ip" map in the mappings file, following the same format you see for 127.0.0.1. After making the file change, run:

If you log into webmail like this:
http://webmail.domain1.com
you can log into domain1 with just your UID, but would need "[email protected]" for domain 2. If you log into domain 2 like this:
http://webmail.domain2.com
and your DNS points to the same machine, then you will be able to log into domain2 with just a bare UID
Actually, this is all covered in the documentation, though I admit, it's hard to find it.

No luck, unfortunetly. I've even restarted the whole computer. They are usually still there, and sometimes, even older messages that I deleted from the drafts folder a long time ago, reappear as well. I've also deleted the account from Mail and set it up from scratch several times hoping that would work, but it failed as well.

For about the last month when I shut down I get a window that says "Continue the installation Choose abort if you wish to cancel the installation ABORT   YES".   If I don't press anything or if I choose ABORT or Yes the message goes away and the computer shuts down. But the next time I use the computer and then shut down the message is back. I have looked to see if there are any downloads pending or if there are any updates trying to download. I am very puzzled.

"artworks" is a bit vague...can you expand?
File > Place is the usual way, but there are times when cut and paste is fine or better.

Why is my new mail going to an "Inbox" folder in the Archive folder?

I've discovered that my new mail is now longer going to the regular Inbox. It's now landing in a new "Inbox" folder in the Archive folder. Why? How can I reset this back to the regular new mail inbox?
I tried renaming the folder in the directory but mail still is defaulting there. I've check to make sure I don't have a filter to do this, no filter for this account.

Who is the email account provider?
With an Apple iCloud account, there is a preference setting with the account settings on the iPhone to archive messages - save deleted messages in your Archive folder.
I believe the same is available with a Gmail account.
