If I give message type "W" or "S" then press enter it saves the wrong the value.
my requirement is: If the logical condition fails then I need the following things.

How to Avoid Save As dialog when Saving
We recently upgraded Adobe Reader X to XI. One difference between the two is the behavior of the Save function the first time it is performed. In Reader X, when Save was selected, the file would simply save the current file, overwriting the original file. In Reader XI, when Save is selected, the Save As dialog box appears, and if the user does not change the file name or path, a warning pops up asking whether the existing file should be overwritten. I understand that this behavior is a result of Protected Mode being enabled. Is there a way to keep PM enabled, but always allow files to be overwritten as was the case in Reader X?
Yes, it does. (as long as the pdf has been opened via a COM interface)
-
I already saw others asking this, but nobody could provide an answer. Ever since I updated to reader DC, I always get a promt to save as instead of just save after highlighting or commenting a file. I need the save feature to overwrite my excising file without asking to save as because it is very uncomfortable to navigate to the the file location every time I want to overwrite it. Older reader version did not have this annoying issue.
I am running win7 and already tried to disable protected mode, but doesnt help. If I cant solve this issue, going to have to use different pdf viewer.Allse,
You need to re-start Reader DC after you have disabled protected mode. Does it work for you now?
Thanks,

I have updated my ipod touch but i have to update iphone and ipad 1 and ipad2 . How can I save the udated software in order to avoid teh time for downloading it again each time
Even though the downloads are for the same iOS version number, they are different downloads and you can't use an iPod iOS update to update an iPhone or iPad etc. The iPad 1 and iPad 2 are also different downloads. So you will need to download different updates for your iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad 1 and the iPad 2.

How to avoid creation of _(file.*), coping from tiger to pc?
how to avoid the creation of this file for ever on a pc environment??
I explain: as i copy any image file, it goes to a spooler directory and that begins instantly to process the file to an OPI server, separating CMYK channels, converting it to high and low resolution...
but as this _(file) is created (same name and extension, but 0Kb and with this _ underscore in the beggining of it name), it begins to process it, and as it really does not exists as an image itself, it crashes the OPI server, forcing us to restart it...
and then, you can imagine the mess, because we're a newspaper, with more than 100 machines logged in two cities simultaneously...
thanks for those who replied last topic I posted about some softwares to delete it! it really worked!!
but now, can anyone have a clue how to DON'T create this file?
thanks in advance!
alex borba
[email protected]I believe that command is supposed to stop the creation .DS_Store files on servers. Also, I think the plist file gets written to the user ~/Library/Pref, it probably ought to exist both there and in the /Library/Pref folder to really work.
I didn't think the Save for Web option would work for your purposes. I don't believe anything will work except to strip the resource fork off the files before you send them. There is an Applescript that will do it, using a UNIX command in the script. You select a folder, run the Applescript, and it strips the resource fork off all files in the folder and creates a sub-folder called Stripped with resourceless copies of the files in the original:
-- Strip resource fork and metadata in Tiger for one file.
-- If a folder is selected creates an unresourced subfolder of the selected folder
tell application "Finder"
try
set aFile to the selection as alias
set aFolder to the container of aFile
on error
display dialog "Select a file"
return
end try
set aFile to the quoted form of POSIX path of aFile
do shell script "rsync -a " & aFile & " " & aFile & "Stripped; mv " & aFile & "Stripped " & aFile
update aFolder
end tell
The "do shell script" line must be all a single line in Script Editor. It might wrap funny in the browser. Anyway, copy it, paste into Script Editor, hit compile, and save it as an application. I've only fooled with it a little tiny bit, so I'm not sure whether the rsync process would have any strange effects on complex Photoshop and EPS files or not.
As far as I know the only way to send Mac files without resource forks to a server is to strip them from the files.

How to avoid database logon dialog on every action of refreshing reports
I am using Crystal reports 208 SP2 and has a database connection to oracle database. Connection is esablished and report retrieves desired data, The problem is when ever i open this report ( which has this connection set) and do a refresh, the report the LogOn dialog pops up.
How to avoid or save this log on info such that it does not pops up the LogOn dialog when i open the report and do a refresh(F5).?Hi Don,
Thanks for the reply. To try your suggested approach, i need some clarifications .
_Problem summary:for refrence, _
I am following the steps mentioned below to establish a database connection, and fetch the data.
1) I am using Oracle drivers for configuring the ODBC data source. As part of configuration i will specify the Oracle server name
2) In crystal reports, Using "Database" menu, i open "Database Expert" dialog and "Make New connection" by specifing the data source mentioned in step 1). During this process, (ODBC)logon information will be filled in. The user ID and password used has all the rights to access the tables in the database. Logon will be successful and connection is established.
3) Further i use the database table from the "Database Expert" on to the report and refresh(F5) to fetch the data.
After step 3, I close the report and reopen it. Now trying to refresh the database logon dialog pops up. I need to avoid this pop up
Requesting Clarification:;
1) You have specified "When you connect you have the option to use Trusted Authentication, check this option on". Where is this option. Is it in the crystal reports or is it available during data source configuration. Kindly specify.
2) Here "Enterprise logon info that has been configured on the Oracle server." implies the oracle database login information right? If yes, this login details are available and i am using this logon information(i.e. UseriD and Password) during database connection.
If No, Is "Enterprise logon info " is something which should be specifically enabled by DBA in oracle11g configuraion.
Kindly suggest.

How to avoid the dialogue when converting from context menu
This is a follow-up to http://forums.adobe.com/message/2016146#443364 which was locked due to a bug.
i would like to know how i can avoid the 'save as' dialogue when using the context menu to convert a word file to pdf using windows XP/acrobat 8/word 2007.
so far, it always prompts me for the filename, which is annoying as it does not allow me to batch-convert several files and let the thing run its course.
the solution provided by Steve in the other thread does not work - even if the plugin from word does not propt for a filename, it still does when triggered from explorer/context menu.
so back to square one: how to avoid that dialogue when not opening word at all?
cheers, thanks for any help. michaelFor a permanent change, START>PRINTERS>right click on Adobe PDF printer and select properties>General>Printing Preferences>Adobe PDF Settings. Under the settings tab, uncheck the box related to asking for a name. Pretty sure that is the location, but it may vary with version.

How do I save a running sequence file
Part of my testing requires a large number of variables to be passed to and from the UUT within TestStand. I can store some of these variables in the station globals, but I'd like the option to store others in the sequence files at run time and save them to disk (save the sequence file) at the end of the test. I can create variables in the station globals and commit the globals to disk just fine (LabVIEW vi's using the TestStand API). However, I cannot figure out how to do the same thing with a sequence file. My code is able to create and populate the locals variables with no problem, but I cannot save the running sequence file to disk with the new locals (or file globals) intact (they disappear when the sequence ends.) The reason I want to save the sequence file is to avoid manually entering all these variables into each sequence file locals list.
So, I think the questions are:
How do I make the new locals or file globals a part of the running sequence file?
How do I save the sequence file to disk before it stops running?
I can increment the change count on the file. I have figured out two or three ways to save the file while it's running without errors (although I doubt it's actually doing anything.) I'm using the TestStand API in LabVIEW vi's to pull this off and cannot find the functions I'm looking for.
Sorry if this is rambling, it's kind of hard to describe.Hi Lars,
The reason that we can't save the local variables created during
runtime is because TestStand creates a runtime copy of the variables
when the sequence starts. After the sequence is finished executing,
this copy is discarded. The reason behind this is that TestStand allows
for a single sequence to have multiple executions at the same time, and
each instance gets its own runtime copy of the local variables. If new
locals could be saved to the actual sequence file in memory, it could
cause major problems for other execution threads of that particular
.seq file.
You can use the API to add variables to the actual file using
GetSequenceFileEx and incrementing the Change Count, or create a
separate sequence that modifies another sequence file, but adding these
locals to the sequence file from itself isn't possible.
Hope this helps Lars,
Have a good one.

How do I save changes to "Energy Saver" that stay in effect after rebooting.
I have changed the sleep settings for the hard disk and display for my iMac but after I shut down and the start up again, the settings are back to the default settings. How can I save these changes and avoid having to do this change every time I boot up?
TimPlease read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Set the Energy Saver preferences the way you want them.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Check the settings while in safe mode. Have they been reverted? If so, set them again. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
How to avoid the transport request popup when changing real-time load behav
Hello experts,
I'm often switching between the two loading mode, and I already worked in systems where I don't have the popup for transport request : (so I guess there is a possible tuning anywhere)
How to avoid the "asking for a transport request" popup in BW when changing real-time load behaviour of an infocube
Thanks in advance, I will save precious time
Guillaume P.Hello Krishnan,
i tried to switch all object types from "not changeable" to "changeable original", but still get the popup when switching cube loading mode.
Do you know the particular object type to manage ?
Hello Vishnu,
same thing, whatever the option is (switch on / off standard) I have the transport popup.
Anyway thanks for your try. -

The user used to select the list item one by one and used to enter values in the each canvas assigned to the Item(expense, amount, supplier, account) and go for a save.
For instance when the user enter the value in expense ,amount and supplier and again back when the user navigate back to amount the entered value get cleared.
how to avoid the data get cleared.
Thanks & regards
Srikkanthyou can use EXECUTE_QUERY built-in to populate the data when that canvas or block instance. If it need at block level write this at When New Block Instance. if it a tab page then you can write when tab page change. If need where condition, add block level where condition.
